I was on the Visitors side for the Bucs game and it was still hot as hell. Not nearly as bad as the Buffalo game, mind you, and that game was at 4pm.

Well, as disappointing as it is for us fans that were looking forward to a prime time rematch against one of our hated division rivals, there's not much that we can do to change it. So, might as well make the most of it. Besides, and as has been mentioned, there are some positives that come with playing earlier.

Bottom line, I don't care when we play, as long as we show up to play and knock the snot out of Brady and his boys.

    Go Phins!

Man seriously. I was at the oakland game last year over there and it was chilly that morning but that sun crispped me like a slice of bacon.

I don't mind it. The earlier the game the more heat and humidity the Patriots have to play in.

It sucks for the fans. It's great for the team. The pats have to come into Dolphins Stadium and play at 1pm on a bright, sunny, humid day. And they have to stop Ricky Williams running on them all day long. The NFL just did the team a favor and increased our odds of success.

Trust me, it is. As I said earlier, it was hot as **** just sitting in the stands at the Bucs game. Can only imagine what it felt like to play in that.

Plus when you consider the Pats will have played in chilly New England, and a dome leading up to the game, they may feel it a little bit come the 4th quarter.

I don't get any televised games, I can't afford the channels. this was one of the few opportunities I had to watch them on tv.
Plus, I don't whine, but I do get angry and this was un called for IMO.

It's my team and I'll cry or whine if I want to.:tantrum:

Wow **** off NBC, no wonder why nobody watches your network except on sundays. I won't be watching, but I hope the Cardinals blow them out. Now I have to watch a stream. I was looking forward to a Sunday Night game between two division rivals potentially for first place.

To good teams in a divisional race getting flexed for two retirement wannabes.

I very disapointed, home teams have a advantage and the power at home on a national stage is big.

I wanted the prime time game. It's BS they flexed it out. The Cardinals and Vikings will have both wrapped up their divisions by that time. It's a horrible idea by the NFL, but whatever.

We'll just have to beat the piss out of the Patriots at 1PM on CBS rather than on National TV.

The Favre v Gren Bay was the highest rated Cable sports event..in history, NBC is making a business decision, of course that screws us Dolphins fans, but when have they ever given two ****s about dolphins fans?

This is illucidating sicilian, HC Sparano is the flippin' Lombardi of the Dolphins when it comes to keeping it real:

At this point I think they would play that game and win it at 9am, Sparano and Crew are THAT locked in.

Those are good, but the ratings aren't anything special. I was mostly referring to them putting Jay Leno in primetime every night. Lots of people were mad about that.

True, but with this one i believe they made a mistake, Miami and NE is prime material. We are talking the Parcel/belicheat connection, the last yrs dethrowning of them as division champs, the possibility of this as a division setting game. all the makings of a epic battle

I mean the first jets game was great. in primetime

By the way NFL network is replaying Phins vs' cowboys snow game thursday morning that got almost 38 million viewers.

I understand the power of Favre we only got him another yr or two i guess Miami had a few games like this to showcase Marino

    CHEERS AGREE

This makes no sense. I'm not surprised they bumped Miami out of the slot, I'm just shocked they pushed the Pats away.

I Just Received a Troubling Email From the Miami Dolphins

I just got a mass email from the Dolphins, announcing that we were flexed out of the Sunday night game vs. the Pats. I know that they gotta spin this in a positive manner, but I found this quote to be troubling:

All of our feedback has shown that our fans prefer night games early in the season and afternoon games later in the year,” said Miami Dolphins Chief Executive Officer Mike Dee. “We were able to get two home prime-time games in September and October this season that were well-received by our fans, and we are working with the league to secure early season prime time games again next year. While we would have liked the national exposure by playing the Patriots on Sunday night, we know our fans will enjoy attending the 1:00 game in what should be ideal weather conditions.”

This really pisses me off. We should have as many home 1:00 games in September and October as possible. This is our home field advantage for chistsakes! Who cares about the fans!?!?!? I care about winning. The heat and humidity give us an edge and we're just gonna piss it away so the fans can be more happy!!!

This fan is happy when we win. I could care less about the weather.

its the nfl......imo weather isnt as big as a factor as some make it out to be....most players on nfl teams have played in hot weather in texas, florida, arizona, california etc etc....and honestly....we practice in a bubble if its too hot.....its not that much of an advantage any more imo

You brought up a good point here.... I beleive that CBS had a say in what game ultimately gets flexed. If i were CBS, i would rather hang on to this game than have a blackouted Jax game on Sunday at 1. I betcha CBS is the main reason behind this.

Little tidbit i found on nfl.com in regard to flex.

    # The NFL will decide (after consultation with CBS, FOX, NBC) and announce as early as possible the game being played at 8:15 p.m. ET. The announcement will come no later than 12 days prior to the game. The NFL may also announce games moving to 4:05 p.m. ET and 4:15 p.m. ET.

    http://www.nfl.com/schedules/tv/flexible

I like the consult with CBS, NBC, Etc.. part.... basically CBS, said heck no im not giving you a Pats v Fins game!

Unreal....absolutely unreal. I hope Favre comes down with the Swine Flu, misses that particular week. As well , Kurt Warner may not be able to play...so youll have Tavaris Jackson vs Matt Leinart.

Man I hope they get their just desserts on this one.

I disagree with all you guys.

When we wear white on white and the opponent wears their dark-colored jerseys, we have a distinct advantage when playing at home at 1:00 in September. I remember a couple of years ago when we played the Raiders, CBS sideline person showed how much hotter the Raiders' black jerseys were versus ours.

    You all are wrong, dammit!

Plus Rex lost about 25 pounds during that game. He woulda lost more, but his sweat glands gave out about midway through the 3rd quarter.

NOTE: He gained that weight back (and then some) at the team buffet after the game.
