i don't agree with that, his athleticism is far superior....he's made plays on the field crowder could only dream about.

It will be fun scouting the 2 best middle linebackers in the country playing for undefeated teams basically for 2 years..head to head baby, hopefully we'll get one of those cats.

Depends where we end up in the draft....

If we are in the bottom half of the top 10 to top 15: Either Alabama player McClain ILB or Cody NT. Can't go wrong either way.

If we are in the 20's: Jermaine Gresham TE from OU, Brandon Spikes ILB Florida, or if Dez Bryant, WR OKST, is there....Take Dez Bryant.

I was thinking exactly the same things. Basically, right down the middle of the defense -- NT, MLB, and FS (not necessarily in that order). And unless there's a star at WR in the draft that we just can't pass up, grab the best we can via free agency.

Totally agree with that priority list. As most of us have seen WRs in the draft are hot and cold, and I'd rather break out the bank in FA for a good WR, and keep our defense young and give our LB corps a much needed upgrade.

Here is the thing with Porter and Taylor..we are leading the NFL in sacks with 35, we had 40 all of last season, those two have 25% of them.

I don't believe it is a talent issue on defense, I think it is a scheme issue.

And the Oline breaks down consistently enough that one untimely sack per game happens, that unit needs to be strengthened even more.

#1 priority is signing Merriman ... even though OLB isn't our #1 need ...

#2 need is a stud ILB ... even if that means pushing CC over to #2 ILB (personally, i would rather do without him, but our derth of ILB prospects on this team is telling).

#3 a go to WR ... we have the accessories, but not the meat

#4 a good TE ... we have back-ups - but not good starter

#5 a NT ... to partner with Soliai

then its just a matter of continuing to work on depth ....

i said and still believe what i said this past offseason Ginn will be traded/cut, Carey will be traded, and Porter will be cut ... Carey as long as the FO is comfortable with Gardner .... in addition to Garner and now Murtha.

as the season has worn on, Allen (W) may now be traded, JT may be resigned ...
