Coach Meyer said he would not be able to spend much time with the recruits because he had a big game to prepare for next week but I am guessing they were allowed to participate in the celebration.

I know this was directed to Crunch but thought I may be able to help. I follow recruiting quite a bit. Anyway Recruits probably were in the locker room at some point. While I don't know for sure as I don't have any confirmation, But I do know as fact that recruits were in locker room for other visits during the year. I am sure Urban stopped and had small chats with them but coaches are preparing for a huge game and mostly left it up to the players.

Josh is transferring from BC and he fits the Gators current mold of RB. He is small and quick. He could be Florida bound but not many details are known.

Never heard he was a gator lean. I know he was considering the Gators and tat they were still in it but not heard much more than that. I know he broke news yesterday and shocked a few people when he dropped Penn State. Main three that are in it were Florida, Ohio State, and South Carolina. Heard at different times that he would pick each one of those schools. Him going to OSU may be accurate

Thanks for the info skeet! Ive never seen JT recruit a true NT before. Yes PSU fans blame Ohio ST for negative recruiting thats why he dropped them. Sour grapes if you ask me. Oh man him with Johhny Simon in the middle has me with glee!

Ohio State was also leading for a 310 pound NT/DT named Jonathan Hankins. However he says he now has a new leader. The Florida Gators.

Dunlap is a complete ******. However DE is one of Florida's deepest positions. Trattou should start in his place.

Everyone of these kids would have to do a mandatory 16 weeks at Paris Island before I would allow them on my team if I were UM.

I just can't comprehend how someone could be so stupid. What was he doing hanging out this late / early in the morning on a work night, knowing he had such an important game this coming Saturday?

Chris Martin has officially decommitted from Notre Dame and will not be in there class at all. He had said that he would give the next coach a shot but something went down. He has now completly droppped them. Florida looks to be in great shape

Definitely a bonehead decision on his part .Not only is he missing out on the two most important games in his life where he could showcase his talent but his idiocy could cost him in the draft .

Fortunately this team is very deep and will just plug in someone else .They beat Alabama without Harvin last year .

I am glad it wasnt Hernandez who got into trouble. He is irreplaceable.

My congratulations go to the Bama fans.

That was a thorough butt wipping by a team that was very well prepared .Say what you will about Nick Saban' but he is the best college coach in football IMO.

I have had a very uneasy feeling about this team all year long.Something has been missing that has been hard to put a finger on.

The talent on the offense has been less than stellar with Hernandez being the only outstanding player besides Tebow. The starting WRs have dropped too many key passes all year long.I wonder why there was no real effort to mix in some of the younger guys .I am not a fan of the mini-backs except as a change of pace.

Tebow has not been as effective as in past years IMO.Poor mechanics and his decision making has not always been good.

And I think it was a mistake to promote Adazzio from OL coach to OC .Perhaps a real OC will be brought in next year .

The meltdown of the defense was the biggest surprise .They seemed to play without much intensity .

Anyway it has been a good run for this team and they deserve the accolades and the titles they have won.

Next year this team will have a different look at least on the offense....maybe on the defense too if Strong leaves. It will be exciting
to follow their progress .Continued good recruiting will ensure their success.

Thats what they said about Utah St last year when SEC runnerup Bama played them.

I hope the Gators dont commit the same mistake and play without heart or intensity.

I doubt that happens as there is no coach who prepares better for a bowl game when he has time than Meyer.

IMHO CFB is very much about emotions, timing, and match ups. Look at Bama coming off a lackluster performance against Auburn and blowing the Gators out of the building...........Bama was focused, motivated because of last year and matched up very well with Florida. UF had a very weak East side SE schedule and a non conference schedule that rivaled Lakeside Elementary, lost to Arkansas and Bama had only a little bit better West side schedule and lost to Tennessee. Both teams are/were overrated IMHO...and we should not count Texas out because they played like garbage against a very very good Nebraska defense.

IMHO the SEC title game was about focus from Bama, motivation and basically a better team than it was about Florida not having heart. Florida was/is a very good team that the media is trying like hell to make an all time greatest team. Tebow has been good not great this year and they are still on some kind of man love with him.

Cincy on the other hand has an average D and has had some serious challenges and probably should have lost at least one and probably 2 this year. Cincy will try and out score Florida IMHO and they are not talented enough to do that and UF matches up much better against Cincy that they would TCU IMHO so I look for a 45-27 type game. I also think Tebow will have a monster game because it is his last he is motivated and Cincy just does not match up physically with the power.

I also am of the opinion that Texas beats Bama. Bama will be focused but Bama also played a weaker than normal SEC with a two game schedule of Ole Miss and LSU and a patsy non conference schedule and everyone is viewing them based on a game where they matched up very very well and were focused against an overrated Florida. Texas is being viewed by how they played against a very good Nebraska defense and a Suh on a mission.

So just my humble opinion...but I say Texas wins by 9.

I agree with your point about Alabama being built to match up well against Florida .We dont know if they will match up well against Texas .That remains to be seen.

However I think the top teams in the SEC can match up with the top teams in the Big 12 because generally speaking their defenses are better .

I will pick Alabama because of that reason.

I may be alone in this, but I think Strong did not get the D ready. I really think he was getting interviewed or at the very least thinking about Louisville instead of preparing for Bama. Oh well. Hope next season is better.

I really do not like the match up in the bowl. I mean heck, if this team could not get up and be ready for the SEC champ game... how are they going to do now... now that they lost a season goal ender. We have the talent to win, just not sure our hearts will be in it.

Just my opinion on what has to happen but..........

I do not see Newton having a big game, but he needs to run just enough to make Shipley and McCoys feet a factor on third downs, and I think the Bama corners will shut down Kirkindoll, Williams or Goodwin. What I do think can happen is Shipley will have a big game from the slot and someone other than Newton will stretch the field to the hash a bit more than Newton can, and I think that McCoy is going to have to run for some yards. Saban is great at taking away the main outlet so IMHO he will pressure McCoy inside out and take away the intermediate/deep ball and see if McCoy can beat him with his legs or finding Shipley in spots...and if Newton can beat him which I doubt personally.

On the other side I think Texas slows Ingram down as they are probably the top 5 in run defense. I also think that the game plans will have to be similar as Texas sacks everyone and has some big time ball hawks like Thomas.

Overall I think Texas has to run just enough to put McCoy in manageable D&D and Bama cannot get Jones the ball enough to offset the Texas Defense shutting down Ingram..................and then again Bama may win by 50.....but that is my take anyway.......................anyway I think either Julio Jones or Shipley/McCoy will have a good day and I do not think Bama can fool McCoy all night and he will find openings and Texas can out athlete Bama on defense..............................

I said it in another post....all IMHO only ......but IMHO Florida got beat by a better team on a mission period and emotions had very little to do with it....and Florida is much better athletically and physical than Cincy...and Tebow will be on a mission...if I were a Gator I would love the match up.....I take Florida all day and the over on Tebows all purpose yards.........................

I think Florida's biggest problem was running a 3-3-5. Thats about the worst D you could run v.s. Bama. Florida has yet to get a Play making DT which they need so badly. Bama's OL was getting to LB's all day and that had alot to do with it. Florida missed so many opurtunity's as well. Congrats to Bama and see you next year hopefully. I love Tebow to death, but I can't wait for the Brantley ear to begin. Tebow is missing wide open guys down field and thats really strarting to fuustrate me alot.

Scheme and thew fact Will Hill is scared to hit my dead grandmother. I agree though Brantley and Mack Brown make Florida a better team IMHO and Thompson looks like he may actually not be a collosal bust and is developing....Florida may actually be underrated next year...new players but very talented and more balanced and the Tebow man love from the media will be gone.

Probably a VERY young D though. I bet we are going to lose most of the ones that have the option to leave. I think our O will be better. Just not so sure about our D.

Billy Gonzalez is gone!!!!! He is leaving to be LSU's Offensive coordinator.

Great news is that Urban Meyer has offered the Defensive Coordinator to Tyrone Nix. He is currently at that position at Ole Miss.

Cody Riggs committed to the Gators

Rumor only that Addizioo will be demoted back to Oline coach. Also Mike Sanford was fired and he could be our next O Coord.

Mike Sanford was the offensive Coordinator for Urban Meyer while he was the head coach at Utah. His offense was amazing up there. He was fired as head coach of UNLV.

Billy Gonzales was a great recruiter too. If you followed Gators recruiting at all you know that he was only behind Urban Meyer. Billy G was also the recruiting corrdinator.

Billy Gonzalez leaving will hurt the recruiting more than Strong's leaving .There already have been repercussions as some recruits are wavering in their commitment .

The new coaches will have to get busy to win the confidence of those.

IMHO it had less to do with the coaches preparing the players as with the players themselves. It is highly rumored there were other football players knocking back beers with Carlos the night he was arrested and I know for a fact that Demps and Rainy were two of them.

Except Cincy's coach just abandoned them, that's going to be a big distraction. Players are saying they feel betrayed, he walked out on them and he left them for a bigger paycheck.

Who did you hear was wavering?

I am not shocked by that however I don't think was the reason we lost. We lost to a better football team. Alot of Bama's strengths were to wear Florida was weak.

Thats gunna hurt them alot. I can't see how that helps. I am really disappointed that Kelly is not going to coach them.

That is not why we lost but it shows where our players heads were. Look at how focused Bama was, they had been game planning for it all year. They played the game like it was their national championship, and we looked like we saw it as only a stepping stone.
