Great win,I didn't post much today but it was an exciting game. Henne was on fire today, he made many nice throws especially to Bess.
Also, and I almost hate to even go threr after a win so please don't be to hard on me. I'm not so sure Sparano is the right guy to take us to the promised land. I do however think he's a good coach but some of the decisions that get made during the course of a game leave me and I'm sure some of you shaking our heads. Examples would be (in no particular order) ,and yes most of them worked out today but are bucking against the odds. Going for it on fourth down mid way through the fourth quarter when 3 would put you within a score of the lead. After scoring a TD midway through the third Quarter going for two so early in the game. Putting Pat white in on 2-10 and having him run an option. If your going to use him let him throw, He's passed 3 times for 0 completions (correct me if im wrong). If you're not willing to let him throw keep him on the sideline. And not allowing Henne who at the time had a hot hand not throw the ball on 3-5 and give the ball back to Brady with more than a minute to play. I'm sure some of you can add in more mistakes and I'm sure some of you can defend these because calls because we enviably won the game. In short I do have a ton of respect for our coach but I do questions a lot of the decisions he makes.
Oh dude the guy is solid. Has the gun no question. Its an easy thing for guys like this to take some off the ball but it's impossible to ask someone without it to put more on the ball. IMO if you're not pleased with this guy you just aren't watching the game.
I can't believe I'm agreeing with you, but you are correct. Sellers' arm was clearly down on the play before the ball came out... Awful that we have instant replay, and STILL the call gets blown.
Question- if the ref runs up and blows the whistle and rules the runner is down, which means the whistle is blown, how can the booth overturn the call. The way I was taught, you quit when the whistle is blown. d-1
I can only imagine how good he could be with another year or two under his belt with a "real" set of receivers. The sky is the limit for this kid.
I don't know, today was the first time in awhile that I agreed with most of the calls (minus the Pat White plays; you're definitely right there). When they went for it on 4th...I would have too. It was much more likely for us to succeed against their defense than it was for our defense to succeed against their offense. Plus, the FG would have been deeper than Carpenter's range. In regards to the 2-point conversion...I thought it was the right call. If the Pats scored another TD (which was likely at the time) then they'd have to go for 2 to tie it up anyway. Might as well try to get it done when there is less pressure. Usually people are annoyed that they don't "play to win the game" or have a killer instinct. Then when they start going for it on 4ths, trying to tie it up against a hated rival, throwing bombs, etc...everyone gets annoyed. I liked that they finally showed some sort of attitude. Now if they can bring in Wake more and Porter less...I'll be even happier
Exactly my point, the ref without hesitation ran up and pointed to the ground signaling down-by-contact and was blowing the whistle. How the call was overturned boggles my mind, I mean seriously, this deals with the integrity of the game. You are having guys in a booth 100 feet in the air making calls, when the ref was right on it. d-1
My pre-game prediction and keys to the game and the win was passing more and putting Brady on his back, and using a 6 defensive back scheme. The insertion of Pat White was ill-timed because we were riding the hot hand, and Pat White looks uncomfortable out there. I am really proud how our defense pulled through. d-1
How is Ricky Williams? Any news? He grabbed his hamstring. He was walking and went back in, but hopefully it doesnt bother him too much. We need him at 100%
......feels great dont it.? This might have been mentioned befor but I had tears of joy when the camera showed Welker on the sidelines screaming in frustration that they lost. Brady`s head in the turf after throwing the Int. wasnt bad either.
