I agree with the call, not enough to overturn it... if they called it down by contact then they would not have overturned that either
To be honest I wasnt sure he ever caught the ball. But was hard to overturn it I agree. That said, the Saints may well lose this game. They are low coming off the big win, resting a number of starters, playing on a sloppy field. Their offense has made big plays, but has not been consistent, and the Skins O is having their way for the most part. For those that arent watching - the play was Brees throwing to Shockey. Low pass and the Skins Defender dove over the top of Shockey to scoop the ball. He got up and started running, then was stripped by Meachum who took the ball to the house. It was challenged but stood.
Wow, in OT, that was a brutal call. Sellers' arm was clearly down before that ball came out. No way the saints should have the ball right now.
Its rigged. The Ref blew the whistle as soon as he fumbled it before the recovery. Sellers was going to grab the football but the whistle blew so he didn't reach for it. The NFL wants to protect the Saints.
I agree with you but the Ref blew it dead as soon as it popped out and no team recovered the football. Should have been Washington's ball.
Didnt the Saints player pick up the ball when it came out? Not sure, but the ball seemed to be coming out before the arm hit to me.
No he got hit ball comes out Ref blows whistle and rules down by contact. before the Saints recovered it. As soon as the whistle blows the play is dead. I think Sellers would have recovered the ball if the whistle doesn't get blown.
Didnt seem rigged at all imo. Usually rigging would be a lame PI call near the goal line *cough braylon edwards cough* Good game, but the Skins went out and lost it pretty badly. How the **** do you let a WR get behind you with less than 2 minutes on the clock? Thats a peewee league error.
Would be naive to think the Refs did not help aid the Saints. Washington blew it but I hate to refs help a team thats suppose to win the Superbowl when their not even the best team in the NFC.
You mean like failing to call an obvious fumble by a safety before they cross the goal line. And after replay, apparently they still couldn't see it was a 1.5 yards away from the endzone?
Unless the league moved the goal post prior to a 23 yard chipshot FG that would of iced the game, not sure how the league rigs anything. Skins and Skins lost the game....bads calls and all...a chip shot with less than 2 min would have put the lead to 10 and closed it out.
Well considering the 7 points before half and the turnover in OT yes I would say the refs did everything in their power to sway it for the Saints. But it was an awesome choke job by the Skins.
Hard to believe that Skins kicker missed that field goal. It was basically an extra point, you have to be sick if you're a SKins player, that was the only shot at having anything positive coming out of the season. Campbell showed he can play you hung in there with the best team in the league (or 2nd best at worst) and you're idiot kicker misses a chip shot? Crazy.
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/Headlines.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=162372 Redskins released K Shaun Suisham. Suisham couldn't survive the shanked 23-yarder that allowed the Saints to stay undefeated last week. He had been the Redskins kicker since Week 1 of the 2007 season and was perfect through 10 weeks of this season. But three missed field goals in the last three weeks and he's gone
Wonder if Campbell (aka Mor) is next for his stupid INT on the drive at midfield that would have given them a FG attempt to win in regulation.
