Mixed feelings about that one, the Saints clearly do not need Reggie Bush, and he has had some knee issues, however they also never really found a role for him. Imho we need a scatback type with quickness who is a home run threat, Bush can return kicks and play Wr as well as some Rb, but 8 million a year is out of the question.
For the right price, I'd take him with open arms. But I can say that about half the players in the league, money is usually the deciding factor.
Straight up Ginn for Bush? If I were Ireland, I'd certainly think about it, they are similar players but Ginn doesn't have that injury history.
Man, you guys are crazy. Why keep importing problems? And what the Dolphins need is to continue to get BIGGER, not bring in more frailty on two sticks.
I believe they are going to allow Bush to just walk as a URFA Muck. Ginn for Bush in the strategic sense, Bush can do Ginn's jobs better than he can, from returning kicks to lining up all over the place in the backfield or in the slot.
I agree, I think they'd just let him walk. But in a trade, I don't know if they'd even want to take on Ginn. And would we pick up his $8 million salary (I'm assuming that's his base)?
Well, Bush more or less has a series of contracts, he has an odd deal, a "trade" straight up for Ginn would just be moving Bush's contract off of the books in favor of a cheaper one, with an uncapped year they could then cut Ginn and be ahead in the deal. But I'd more or less expect a straight up FA signing, we need "chunk yardage" and Bush does deliver that, the question is more or less health issues.
I'd rather have someone that can barely catch than a player that can't see the field. Miami will not touch a injury riddled glorified role player.
Ginn would be like #6 on that roster, not to mention they like Roby returning kicks. Colston, Henderson, Moore, Meachum and Roby all would easily start over Ginn.
Please god no. Reggie Bush is simply not that good. We could find scat backs in later rounds in the draft that offer what Bush does. Again, he just isn't that good, and is injury prone. The money that would go to Reggie Bush would be much, much, much better used going to D'Qwell Jackson, or Demeco Ryans, or Karlos Dansby, or any other LB because there's plenty of good ones slated to become FA's. Not to mention if we had to get a RB, there's better options than Bush.
the phins have hardly ever had ginn lined up anywhere but outside, and bush doesn't return kickoffs, only punts. punt returns are bess' job. so, other than the fact that they don't do any of the same jobs, yeah, ginn for bush in a strategic sense sounds perfect...
