http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/football/story/1370775.html FWIW, and the media never talks about it, not only are the Steelers 0-4 in their last 4 games, the Pats are 1-3 in their last 4...
the easy premiss is that 9-7 will not get it done ... possible - yes, but not very likely. JAX is 6-2 in AFC ... JAX plays MIA, INDY, NE - so they should lose at LEAST 2 SD, DEN have 3 AFC losses ... DEN plays INDY, PHILLY - so they should lose at LEAST 1 NE, BAL, MIA have 4 AFC losses ... BAL MUST lose to PIT, NE MUST lose to any of BUF, JAX, or HOU NYJ, PIT have 5 losses ... they are done ! did i say they were D-O-N-E ! Needless to say, MIA MUST win out ... which is entirely possible, since none of the remaining teams are offensive powerhouses (maybe Schaub will still be hurt for our game).
the dolphins won't win out too young and inconsistent blew some chances early that would have put us in the drivers seat they are getting better better luck next year
tremendous parity in the NFL comes down to the finish every year it could happen, especially with Henne catching on late in the season
I seriously doubt we win out. We have a tough 4 game stretch and we could lose any of the 4. The Buffalo Bills really hurt us
I know we've been inconsistent all year, and the Buffalo game left a bad taste for a lot of us, but I don't see the need to be pessimistic here. We've got 4 games to play, against teams that are at best ranked as average. The only games we have underachieved in all year I would say that is 100% this team's fault is Buffalo Part 2, and Atlanta. Other than that, think about it... We lost to the UNDEFEATED Colts by a single late in the game drive by Peyton Freaking Manning. We lost to the UNDEFEATED Saints, in a game where we DOMINATED them in the first 28 minutes of. We lost to the 9-3 Chargers, in a game where our starting QB went out due to injury And we lost to the 7-5 New England Patriots who were playing us coming off their bye, at home (and whose HC has a perfect record of winning after the bye). Yes, we've had sloppy wins like Tampa, but jeeze we're far from dead in the water. Every team we have to face, with the exception of the Steelers, is either of our current skill level, or worse. And with the way the Steelers have been playing, they might not even be a factor come that final game of the year. I'm not going to stand on a soap box and throw out a magic prediction of us winning the division/wild card race right now, but it's totally possible. And honestly this team has the talent to do it.
Seriously. Talk about a buzz kill. Look, there will be plenty of time to be like that if we don't run the table. But until then have a little faith and stop pissing on the parade.
In fact, to further prove my point have a look at this: The only team ranked above us is Jacksonville according to ESPN, and ESPN's Accuscore has us winning with a 52% probability. Just saying, lets not throw in the towel just yet ladies and gents.
People said similar things last year. You could be right. We have 4 tough teams to play. But why give up hope now? I'd rather look foolish for being optimistic than look foolish for being a buzzkill.
Anyone else recall "Why not us"? Seriously, Why not us? We just shut down the vaunted Patsies in the 4th qtr, this after surrendering more 4th qtr points this year than in any season in Dolphins history. Chad Henne threw the ball over 50 times, historically the Phins are 6-12 when throwing the ball over 50 times. Why not us?
I think we finally have some momentum going our way, The Jags are incredibly overrated and their pass D is suspect. Let the Robot once again unleash hell.
See, the risk in saying something so negative, is that the chance someone turns those words into a really funny signature, and then everyone gets to read those words over and over again, almost like the proverbial hall of shame. But if your right, nobody is gonna pat you on the back for predicting the demise of our beloved team, so, really when you balance the risk vs reward of writing such things, you quickly come to the conclusion there can be only bad consequences..... Just saying.... Posted via Mobile Device
Lol, was watching NFL total access and Warren Sapp was talking about how he actually looked forward to Qb's that would scramble, cuz he would track em down and hit em...he hated playing this Robots that stand in the pocket and throw the ball over the field. He actually called them robots, just like you said...hmmmm...hope he becomes a passing machine... Posted via Mobile Device
Besides, what happened in the past...is in the past. Winning Sunday erased everything, and started a new season....this is the perfect time to get hot and roll...I'm tellin you, we win out, we are gonna do some damage in the playoffs.... Posted via Mobile Device
I said before the Bills game that the Pats game would be the make or break game for our playoff chances. Since we won that game there is a good chance we can make the playoffs. Especially with Baltimore's inconsistent play, Pitt's a whole new team without Polomalou, who Kirwin was saying he heard may be done for the season. I dont' see any reason why we can't win out. We took both undefeated teams to the brink. we can hang with anyone and this team is mentally tough. I really believe why not us. We have just a good a shot of running the table from here on out as anyone else in the league. Sure it might not happen, but it certainly could happen. How close the AFC East is and the wild card spots, with many teams to play each other, the finish should be fantastic and super super close at the end of week 16.
Eh, I don't know about damage in the playoffs. We're not an elite team yet, but we're definitely the proverbial wild card. If we come with our A game we can hang with almost any team, if not every team. If we come with anything less we'll make a quick playoff bounce out. However I think even our B game can take out the remaining 4 teams on our schedules (maybe with the exception of the Steelers) It's good to have an air of confidence behind us again, last week kind of took the wind out of a lot of people's sails, and this week we're back in the hunt! Lets get over .500 for the first time this year please!
Brand new season starting on Sunday, baby. It's only 4 games. Forget about Indy and New Orleans, WE have a shot to go undefeated now. Let's do it.
All I know is that I hope the 4th QTR that our defense played is more indicative of what we can expect from our team over the 4th quarter of the season than what our defense was doing earlier. 1-3, 2-2, 3-1, 4-0. Let's hope!
I think we don;t stand a chance...afterall...Mike Tomlin says that the Steelers are going to unleash hell........(I am crapping my pants). uhhh..get used to this...okay? We are BETTER than everybody we play against the rest of the way...except Pittsburgh..and that one is now debatable. OF COURSE we have a chance.
first off thanks for the insult we go on the road against two teams that have been playing very well they both have tough qbs who can run and throw tenn and jax both have running backs that are tough to stop we go back home to play a team we have never beaten huston get us by a couple every time finish with pitt -the super bowl champ will be looking to save face call it bad posting but im just calling it real we won't run it people will go nuts when we lose ill be right where i am patient
Well, I do think the Jax game will be tough, especially if a ton of dolphins fans attend the game, that will piss the Jags off to no end. However, keep in mind the Texans are massively struggling, as in death spiral after the loss to the Colts, and they lost both Guards, the Jags were crushed in SF. As for the Texans, if Schaub's shoulder is injured, they have problems. Meanwhile, the season comes down to the Jax game, Sparano is 5-0 in December, and we are coming off of a solid wi n against the Patriots, so there is cause to be optimistic that does have merit.
i want it to happen i just don't see it look what happened in buffalo we won a game we should have lost against the pats. they left lots of plays on the field i think we are too young and inconsistent this season it took us 12 games to get to .500 i don't see us winning four in a row sorry
So wait a minute..."look at the game in Buffalo" were we left a ton of plays on the field, however when the patriots do the same thing, it was somehow a fluke? I daren't make a prediction, suffice to say "Why not us". The quote in my Sigline is from a Sparano Press Conference Transcript, 6 games ago after the Panthers win, to me that applies to Dolphins Fans as well as the Dolphins Organization itself.
why not us is a great catch phrase ive already explained why inconsistency and youth the Fins have been inconsistent on d all season 4th quarter has been a glaring problem one game is not the cure all if it is miraculously changed ill eat my hat i will be with them hell or high water just need to see it
straight shooting bro i know this team inside and out it took the Dolphins a long time to get back to .500 we have lots of good young talent we also have lots of holes if they do it ill scream from the roof top i guess i might be the only one who has doubts no underlying agenda
I would appreciate it if you never ever post again in this manner please. it may cause some thephins.com posters to get a seizure. and besides, it is very annoying.
Sparano has a way of getting our team pumped up and focused on the task at hand. The playoffs are in our sights!
