A lot of you guys are playing down your pass defense. Do you know what the Texans do almost every play? Throw the ball. Dolphins run defense is great you have porter and crowder and a lot of talent to stop the run. If anything if I was a phin fan I would be more worried about the Texans than Titans all the Titans do is pass to CJ or let Vince drop back and run.

I'm going to continuously lose sleep over your passing offense. That way we'll have a shot to stop them in a couple of weeks.

I like Miami, I always did. My team had always beat your team in a lucky way. I'm not saying it is impossible but being realistic. How do you think Chad Henne and Ricky Williams would fair in the playoffs?

Depends against who. On the road it's not too much of a shot. At home this year I think we'd take Baltimore and have a good shot at Denver. Whatever team has a downright dominant TE often will give us trouble but I have a suspicion we can beat Baltimore this year with Jake Grove in the lineup. There not the team that faced us last year.

Well you guys took care of the Jags today that kept the Texans 0.68% chance of getting in still alive. Which I do not even care because of the last couple of weeks my team has been playing very poorly. I would much rather see you guys in it than the Jags. Baltimore and the Jets should be your biggest concerns for actually competing for the spots. Baltimores all remaining opponents are below a .500 average. The Jets on the other hand have the Colts and Pats who might not have to be playing for anything.

Baltimore's the bigger deal, but chances are one of Baltimore, New England, or Denver will lose a surprise game.

The onus is on the Tennessee game. Based on the Houston prime time game a run blitz may be in order. Tennessee loves to pull their guards to the outside to get Chris Johnson moving and missing. If you blitz and contain at a wide angle with your run supporting safeties stacking the box you stand a decent shot.

Just worry about Baltimore losing a game.

Either the Jags or Pats have to lose a game, so neither of them is important. Of course it's better if NE loses and we win out.

its too early to think about it imo.

we have 3 very very difficult games remaining. none of this matters if we dont do what we need to on the field. which.....is the only thing we can control.

would it suck going 10-6 and sitting at home? god damn yes.

patriots went 11-5 last year and stayed home, its unreal to think.

but i think as dolfans.....and hopefully the players arent.....getting ahead of ourselves here. we lose to tenn, and its pretty much all she wrote.

lets just take care of business on the field, let the chips fall where they may.....crazier things have happened already this season...someone is bound to lose......lets just win baby. just win. its all we can control.

Miami just beat Jax, so they have the head to head on them. Jax must do better than Miami over the last 3 games, just matching them is not enough. If Miami goes 2-1 over the next 3 games Jax MUST go 3-0 to have a shot.

    two things.

IMHO I don't see the Ravens winning against Pitt. They (Pitt) will be looking for blood and revenge. They want to prove they were a legit SB team.

And...losing to the bills really hurt.

Are you seriously this arrogant? Do you seriously think Miami deserves to be in over Denver? The same Miami team that only has 1 credible win against NE. Against the same Denver team that has beaten NE, Cincy, Dallas, NYG, and San Diego?

At least be a LITTLE unhomeristic.

Wow GISH I know your a respected member of the community much more than I, however I can say this. If you somehow crap out diamonds you will be rich.

I know I know I hope the Phins sneak into the playoffs would be a good thing for the team growth and Henne in his first season.

However we have a real tough schedule folks. Not impossible but TOUCH we play 3 GOOD teams (now) and we lost 2 games that we should have won easily early on that have cost us dearly.

Im not getting my hopes up at all and I suggest we take this one game at a time.

You're right, we almost beat two undefeated teams, beat the Jets and their "#1 Defense" twice, beat the Pats...

If you're just going by wins, maybe. But being able to hang with two undefeated teams, and possibly winning against one of them outside of a blown call (not re-opening that debate up, there's proof all around though).

Anyways, it's a matter of opinion. Good luck to Jacksonville beating the Colts, and NE (who if you write off you are just plain delusional). I don't see it happening personally, but as a fan you've gotta have faith right?

And FYI, your playoff destiny is not in your own hands, it's in Baltimore's hands. If they lose, it's back in our hands.

1 - we have to win out ...

2 - we need either NE or BAL to lose 1 game .... (preferably NE)

Sheesh, I'd be ecstatic either way...I predicted a 6-10 season in Sept. anyway... The thing is, if we win out and are 10-6, playoffs or not, is it not a very successful season considering the players we've lost and the way we started out at 0-3 ?? But to answer your question, I'd rather play the Bolts. Manning is playing about as well as any quarterback ever...Not that Rivers isn't doing poorly, because if it weren't for Brees or Peyton this year, everyone would be talking about Rivers, but we can beat the Bolts easier than the Colts, imo...

No of course not, but outside of a fluke we'll have to play them anyways, might as well get it over with and maybe use some of that momentum to get a psychological advantage over the other team :)

People the 3 way tie with the Jaguars and Ravens doesnt matter right now. Why? Because the Jaguars play the Patriots. If the Dolphins win their next 2, and the Jaguars beat the Pats, the Dolphins move into first place. If the Pats win, the Jaguars pretty much get knocked out of the playoff picture.

So if the Dolphins win out they have a great chance to make the playoffs, because we'd need either the Ravens, Patriots or Broncos to lose just one game. It's simple. Even if the Broncos loss comes to the Eagles, the Phins would *most likely* win based on strength of schedule because the Broncos play the lowly raiders and chiefs. Just win out.

Sorry but aren't the Jets and Jaguars above .500 and in the playoff race? The Broncos also play the Chiefs and Raiders 4 games. Which is why if they lose to the eagles and the phins win out, the phins would most likely win the wild card based on strength of schedule. the Giants and Cowboys are no better then the Jags and Jets. We now have to face the Titans, Texans and Steelers. Titans and Texans are very dangerous, if we beat them we certainly deserve it as much as the Broncos. They also picked on the Browns.

The "worst" team we played is the Bills who have 5 wins. Much better then the Chiefs, Raiders and Browns. Cant deny we've had one of the toughest schedules in the NFL. That including the injuries to so many starters and still coming out with a respectable record? Possibly a division title again? Hell yea we deserve it.

Why would you say it takes arrogance to IDENTIFY that the AFC West is the worst division in football?

Did I say that? Or did you conclude that?

It's funny that you would label one Fins win as credible. Meanwhile.......

The 7-6 NY Giants are more credible than our two victories against 7-6 Jets or the victory against the 7-6 Jaguars.

I would have loved to play Cincinatti rather than the Chargers.

I would have loved to play Dallas rather than the Saints.

Heck I would have loved to play Giants rather than the Falcons who are on a two game skid due to the loss of the starting QB.

I simply addressed one fact. There is nothing arrogant about it. The AFC West is the worst division in football. The Raiders and Chiefs make it so. It's a travesty so widely known that athletes and prognosticators alike have suggested that something should be available to the NFL to eliminate the likes of destruction Al Davis has completed on an annual basis. Imagine that. Things are so bad that Americans think you should be able to take something away from someone who OWNS it. Wow!

Arrogant? No, it's just the truth. Open your eyes. No other division has two whipping boys that travel around the country getting beat down. It's like having the Browns and the Lions in the same division. It's a sorry *** division and it doesn't deserve two playoff spots.

All we need to do is focus on ourselves. If we win out then we had a great year at 10-6 considering how things started. If that puts us in the playoffs, awesome. If it doesnt than that is very unfortunate but we have a great foundation for a team that is a realistic contender for next season.

we have a 22% chance to make the playoffs.

    Ravens are at 65%.

We need to win out and either the pats or ravens need to drop one. Or the broncos need to lose to either the Chiefs or the Raiders. If they win those games and lose to the eagles, then they would win the tie breaker with a better conf. record.

I agree with Sick, take care of what we can control. Win our games. Starting with a tough road test vs Tennessee.

You're not. Jacksonville wins out, they're automatically in. If all teams drop a game, they're in. If all teams drop 2 games, they're in. If all 3 lose out, they're in.

Baltimore is next in line for it. They will win the SoV against Miami at this point.

Miami is in the worst shape of the 3. Miami has no control over their fate. They could essentially win out and still not make the playoffs.

That's funny. You didn't consider the Jets a credible win for the Jags coming into this game. Hell you guys even said the Jaguars were a terrible team. Now that you beat them, they're credible wins.

Anyways, that aside, Denver and San Diego have both proven themselves more than the Dolphins and that can't be argued.

The AFC West is still better than the NFC West too :D.

As I stated earlier, you guys said the Jags and Jets weren't credible teams, so I'm going off that.

While the Broncos have played easier opponents than you, they've also beaten more opponents that are tougher than anyone you've played. That's not disputable. They've beaten the Patriots, the Cowboys, the Giants, the Chargers, and the Bengals. How is that not a credible playoff team?

Also, the assumption that Miami and Baltimore will just cruise through the final 3 games is kind of ridiculous. Both have 3 teams on the schedule that can easily pull off the upset.

One more thing, for Zod at least. While the AFC West is bad, and KC and Oakland are generally 4 free wins, that's ridiculous to write them off for that. Even as recent as last year, the Cardinals were the only good team of a big pile of turds in the NFC West, and still pulled off an unbelievable journey to the Super Bowl.

You can't just discredit a team completely because of the division they play in.

Your right, I think we should just forfiet the rest of our games. I would hate to play the games knowing R Brown is hurt. Ricky's 400 plus yards in the last 4 games means nothing. Henne not Brady? Heck even David Carr is better then Henne.... :shifty:

Did I? You must have spent to much time in the thread that I saw at the top of the forum last week yet because of the title -

    I NEVER READ ONE POST!!

So let's recount what you have done here. You ASSumed something from my post and inquired about arrogance and homerism. Then you attribute my thoughts to a thread that I have never read. Wrong on two accounts.....

Why would you do that? Why would you feel the need to lump the Broncos in with the division leader? Is it just to give them some sort of credence?

I ain't lumpin' jack squat of the Dolphins in with the Patriots and certainly not the Jets. Nope! My team is the division champion until proved otherwise. And on that note, I could make a very strong argument that the Broncos have not PROVED a damn thing since 2005.

    Browns
    Chiefs
    Redskins

    ............all LAST PLACE TEAMS

    Steelers
    Raiders

    ...........two MORE sub .500 teams

Do those teams look familiar? Are they not on the Broncos schedule? What on God's green earth have the Broncos proven? Is it the fact that there are not THREE whippin' boys in the AFC West? Is that what you think they have proven? Okay, I agree.

In a three way tie breaker with the Ravens, yes. Not in a head to head between us and Jax.

WHile the Ravens have the tie breaker on us it is not SoV it comes from the common opponents played. While comes before SoV.
