Even if Baltimore loses, we still need Denver to lose 2 more games. Only one is likely... We will be watching the playoffs at home, even if we win out, if NE doesn't lose a game.
A BAL loss gets us into playoffs...a NE loss gets us into the playoffs.....DEN 2 losses would do it too.....CIN 3 loses. Like I said, if we win out...we have lots of options on how we get help. But whatever...its moot regarding this thread.
I am very chill....the obvious is the obvious...some folks are just late to the dance....dont blame me. I was right on time.
Not according to that little website you sent me. I gave miami a win out, balt a loss to Pitt and Denver was in the playoffs. I had to give them a second loss against a team they will probably beat before we made it in.
Dang wrong for a second time tonight. That's how I know it's time for bed. Later guys. Thanks for the chat.
????? if BAL loses to PITT and we win out we are 6th seed and DEN is 5th seed. what else did you change??
"If" the Broncos lose to either the Raiders or KC, and we win out we will be the 5th seed. Our AFC record would then be better than theirs, so go Beagles, Go KC!!!
Correct, just looked at that...one loss to AFC team by DEN helps us. So, 1 loss by BAL or NE....one AFC loss by DEN, or all 3 games by CIN.
BTW BDH, the flaw in your approach is in the idea that someone, will go 10-6 and make the playoffs as the #6.. What happens if the Ravens, Jets, Dolphins, Jags finish 9-7 instead? I'm not making that prediction, stranger things have happened in the NFL in December though.
Well, this is a key weekend, one of the most important since 08 when the Jest were on their losing streak, Bills beat the Patsies, We beat the Titans, Ravens lose to the Bears, Broncos lose as well and we will be sitting pretty.
Its not a flaw, its a complicated possibility...but winning out by Miami keeps it cleaner. But that possibility is my whole point of tonight and rooting for COLTS to lose (JAGS did not control our destiny ever)...so many variables....tonights game was meaningless in that spectrum......a loss by COLTS would have been a perfect outcome to remove perfection.
I am still rooting for DAL over NO.....and BUF over NE....and next week and each week after I am rooting for COLTS to Lose!!
TBH, the real stumbling block for the Colts is the Chargers, they are the best bet to end their streak. That said, if we win out and win the AFCE or win the #5 or #6, we will have a ton of momentum heading into the tourney, not saying we are a SB calibur team, my goal for the 09 Phins are win the AFCE, win 1 playoff game, play in the AFC title game. BTW, how good did the Phins D play against the Jags? Sheesh it looked like a track meet in the Colts secondary this evening, against us they had to claw for every yard even with 3 or 4 turnovers.
I know, and even if we win the AFCE we will be the #3 seed, so we will have to win 2 as well, so for my purposes it doesn't matter if we win the AFCE...though I dearly hope we do manage to do so. I do like the idea that we played the Bolts and Colts fairly tough, with Penny at Qb, and without Cameron Wake or Vontae Davis or Brian Hartline.
There remains one way they could redeem themselves: Beat the Colts in the playoffs, beat the Saints in the Super Bowl. Just sayin'....
