i'd rather JAX lost as well ... then with their backs against the wall, turn around and beat NE in 11 days.
It doesn't really matter if J-ville loses anyway. They are either going to lose to the Pats which puts us in for wildcard, or they beat the Pats which puts us in 1st in the division. All we have to do is win. It doesn't matter what else happens.
Not at all. Baltimore gets the wild card over you in that scenario anyways, and if we lose to Indy and you win at Tennesee, I wouldn't be surprised to watch us tank. Miami's best chance would probably be for Jacksonville and Miami to win out, resulting in us a wild card and you the AFC East title.
i still see them losing tomorrow, then going for broke against NE to keep any hope of playoffs alive ...
You're forgetting about Baltimore. To claim a wildcard spot Baltimore must lose a game. The division, however, could be ours if the Pats lose one.
Pretty much we need to win out and have Baltimore OR New England lose a game. With three left, regardless of who they play, I'd bet one loses.
At least we kinda have a win win tonight. I'd prefer an Indy win if that's what helps our playoff chances the most, but wouldn't mind seeing the Colts drop one.
I still think we have a shot even if we lose Sunday, I think Baltimore could tank 2 of 3 so in tis case we need to root for Indy.
Cam is absolutely correct. No real Dolphins fan should be rooting for the Jags tonight. I had a Dolphins fan tell me today they wanted the Jags to win. It took 15 minutes to convince him otherwise.....
The better team doesnt always win. Chicago isnt as bad as their record and Pittsburgh is a bitter rival, infact that game is the Steelers new super bowl. Baltimore likely wont drop two but there is always a chance, so why not root for the Colts just incase? Also I think its possible NE loses to Buffalo and Houston...they have sucked on the road. If this happens we only need to win 2 of 3 to be east champs.
Go Colts!! I am sensing an upset by the Jaguars in front of their first sold out game in a year, but since it's so ****ing cold here my senses might be off. Let's hope the Colts win so we can root for the Jaguars next week against the Pats. [I'll be rooting for the Jags to beat the Pats anyway, but it'd be much better if they lose this one!] and about the Ravens, don't forget they started out 3-0. They havent been hot lately so they are struggling a bit, they could drop one.
Um... if we lose any game from here on out, EVEN if the Pats drop 2. We risk the damn Yets winning out and taking the division. I don't want to EVER see that happen. We need to win out... period.
Exactly how would rooting for a COLTS loss tonight being rooting against the 2009 Dolphins? Oh thats right....with 3 weeks remaining for all NFL teams the answer is....its not! I have read some rediculous statements over the last few weeks on these boards, but these are right up there. Only someone that doesnt understand playoff math or playoff variables and playoff scenarios could make such a un-educated statement. Not shocked they were made....really.....lately, this is the norm. Sad.....the two have nothing to do with one another...ZERO....but some cant comprehend that I guess.
Never trust the Denver Broncos. The team who had a 3 game lead last year with 4 games to play and ended up losing the division and missing the playoffs by losing all 4 games. They're like the AFC Cowboys.
Ain't that the truth. Even the fans around here aren't that confident that the Broncos have anything locked up...
And it would look even better if we get to the playoffs and defeat the undefeated Colts in the playoffs, then beat the undefeated Saints in the Super Bowl. One can always dream!
Very true, and I'll still pull for Oakland, but I would much prefer they had Gradkowski starting. That would give them a better than legitimate chance.
You are exactly right. Some people just can't comprehend that Jacksonville was not in our way by virtue of their remaining schedule (assuming we win out). Either they lose to the Pats and are out of the way anyway or they beat the Pats and hand us the division. The team we need to lose is Baltimore, not the Jags. Some people just look at the "If the playoffs started today" things and don't look at the greater context, I guess. The Jags were largely irrelevant to our playoff hopes once we beat them. Baltimore is the problem team, not Jax. There was absolutely nothing wrong with wanting the Colts to go down last night.
