It's bad enough that Ginn has trouble getting off the jam, and catching the ball consistently but I can't recall ever watching an NFL player look so scared to get hit. I mean sometimes you see guys alligator arm it but I really can't stand even watching him play because he looks like he's about to cower in a corner everytime he's about to get hit. There are a lot of Wide Receivers coming up on free agency and I expect that we will be going after one of them but it wouldn't surprise me if we give Ginn one more offseason and preseason to prove his worth.

With that said I also think Hartline is our furture number 2 with Bess in the slot. Now if we could add someone like an Antonio Bryant, Lee Evans or even Braylon Edwards (Drops issue but he has potential) that can stretch the field then were talking. All of the one's I listed and a whole lot more are UFA including Miles Austin, Vincent Jackson, Malcolm Floyd, Lance Moore, Brandon Marshall among others. I know many will be franchised or re-signed but I think we are going to have some options. http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/freeagents/fa.php?option=WR&y=2010

Well you need two unless you get a dual threat WR similar to Moss who can go deep and be the physical every-down guy.

Camarillo has some years left as our fourth WR, Bess is the third WR, and Hartline is the 2 WR. I would suggest you get a deep threat off the bench or keep Ginn Jr. as the return man and have him double as that once in a while only. In addition to that you need the true #1. Brandon Marshall easily is that guy, Lee Evans probably but we'd need a great TE since we need a red zone target, and Miles Austin is also a good middle ground. Arrelious Benn would be a great player in the draft. Megatron would make me buy season tickets for next year even though I live in L.A. That one WR would turn this offense into something frightening especially with Ronnie back taking the load off of Ricky for one last year together.

Evans is under contract for like 2 or 3 more years iirc.

Braylon Edwards may make it to FA, and I wouldn't mind reuniting him with Henne.

From your list I think adding Bryant (savvy and talented enough to play #1), and Avant (who played well with Henne in college) would be nice. Getting Hixon would be a nice addition as well because of his return abilities, and he would certainly make Ginn expendable in that regard. A # of the other players I have no interest in, though Floyd could add another dimension to this team.

Frankly if we get no big names, I think getting 2 of Avant/Bryant/Hixon as well as a rookie early on (1st 3 rds, so: Bryant, Benn, Tate, LaFell, Briscoe, Williams, etc) to come to camp would be great for the WR corp. Just let them all compete and keep the best 6.

I agree for the most part, but keep Bryant out of the equation for me, just one FA and Gresham in the draft and I think we are very solid in the passing game....unless of course Dez falls to us....which won't happen.

Don't want any part of Edwards here in Miami. Lance Moore is just another #3 on a very good Brees offensive attack. I can get on board with Lee Evans (leadership), Vincent Jackson, or a Miles Austin.

I think you're throwing the word "bust" around too easily. It isn't for any player that doesn't succeed; it's for players that don't live up to their cost of acquisition.

Chambers was a 2nd round pick for us that made the probowl; how is that a "bust" for us? The only thing that was a "bust" was everyone's high expectations for him and expecting him to be the next Torry Holt. Every year we expected better and better numbers. Ultimately we should have tempered our expectations more.

I don't think he was a "bust" in San Diego either, given what they paid for him. He was more a victim of having bigger guys ahead of him on the depth chart there.

Hartline is definitely making an impression with this team. His performance this game just further bolsters my argument that he is our deep threat.

Someone mentioned Lee Evans - now there is what Ginn was supposed to be. I'd take Lee Evans on this team.

I think PFT game him that nickname, and I believe it had something to do with his visor on the helmet.

EDIT: damn didn't realize this got to 9 pages already and I'm quoting someone on the first page. Doh!

As someone that has watched every Browns game the last 3 years - Braylon Edwards is a joke. We complain about Ginn having 10-12 drops this year? That is a GOOD year for Braylon - not to mention his prima dona attitude and temper tantrums. He isn't exact physical, either.

The grass isn't always greener. We have major issues at WR but we need consistent big plays - not SportsCenter highlights every few weeks.
