Sorry to beat a dead horse once again (and this will probably be my last post on Sheamus for awhile unless I get motivated again) but Sheamus is the new WWE Champion which makes him now the face of the company and their main TV show in RAW yet he gets less than 5 minutes of air time between a promo for winning 'Breakout Star of the Year' and literally a brief 5 second pose with the title at the end of a 3 hour RAW! Yes that's EXACTLY the guy to push, and it's a good thing the WWE is showing so much faith in him. But in fairness to the WWE and Sheamus, that's about the same amount of time he's been given since showing up on RAW a few weeks ago.

But on a positive note I actually found the stuff with DX and Hornswoggle to be pretty funny for some reason tonight.

Yeah we all did. I think that was the same night Hogan 'fought' Nash for the WCW title and won with the finger poke of doom, in a move that pretty much put WCW on life support for good.

Hey what did everyone think of RAW last night? Do the rest of you think Bret Hart will really guest host or Michaels vs. Undertaker II will happen at Wrestlemania this year? It was a decent show and if they do somehow get Hart to agree to do it then the guest host thing will be worth it all along. Even if Hart does not do it,I hope at least they can get The Rock or something.

I doubt Bret would do it but I wouldn't flat out say no way. I think the chance is very small though. It would be cool to see him come back for a night though to host. It would certainly be a much see RAW.

As for HBK/UT 2, I doubt it. I think the WWE is really pushing for a Triple H/HBK WM match and last I heard the smart money is on a UT/Cena program.

Yeah it would be must see, also I think I heard somewhere they are on working terms so I could see it happening.

Yeah I get that same feeling that we will see HBK vs HHH at Wrestlemania,I have a feeling Triple H will make a heel turn somewhere before Wrestlemania. I also heard about the UT/Cena match,I was going to say hopefully Jericho/UT but I think if he can make it back we will see Jericho vs Edge or if they win they tag titles back JeriShow vs Edge and Christian

Yeah Bret was at the WM20 HoF awards to be inducted and has appeared on RAW via a taped segment a few times since then. He also worked on his DVD set with them.

I think a match between Cena and UT at WM would be pretty good, marketing wise. I mean I honestly don't remember them ever fighting each other and certainly it would be a worthy opponent for UT. I'm sure Taker would win but still it's one of the last few 'dream matches' in the WWE right now. I do think it is possible for a Jericho/UT match to happen if Edge doesn't return and something happens to The Big Show in the meantime, only so Taker could beat Jericho and extend the streak.

If I were to guess the WM matches right now that I'd bet money on would happen would be:
    Cena vs. UT
    Triple H vs. HBK
    Orton vs. DiBiase
Jericho vs. Edge (or The Big Show if Edge doesn't return)

Yeah that looks to be the card they are heading towards. As much as I want to see Edge back I guess its better to wait so he doesn't rush it also I heard somewhere that they might look into a Christian vs CM Punk feud based on their altercation on ECW a few weeks back. Also Undertaker and Cena is a good match but it happened a few years back on Smackdown when Cena was a heel rapper I remember them feuding but it hasn't been done in years so it is fresh and would be good to see. Do you think they will turn Cena heel for the match or go face vs face?

Christian vs. Punk would be a good match too. So would a Kofi vs. Morrison or Mysterio match.

The WWE won't turn Cena heel because as much as the older crowds hate him, the young kids (who the WWE is geared towards now) love him and they're the ones that are spending millions and millions of dollars for merchandise. So the WWE will leave it as a face vs. face match with the older fans obviously rooting for the Undertaker.

That is true he does sell a lot of merchandise for them. Yeah it will be like older fans vs younger fans in terms of support. You could tell last night with all those older anti-Cena fans in the first row. To tell you the truth though I have been a fan of WWE long before Cena got there and I consider myself one of the older fans but Cena doesn't really bother me that much.

I think those fans in the front might have been plants to push an anti-Cena angle. But Cena doesn't bother me at all either, I actually like him. I mean the guy works hard in the ring and does the jobs when asked. He's not like Triple H circa 2002-2006ish when he was clearly out of shape making him put on crappy matches and refusing to put people over. Cena is one of the few bonafined stars the WWE has right now. Love him or hate him the guy gets a reaction and pops the crowd.

Yeah same thing here,I liked him as a rapper more but I don't mind him now. The guy no doubt worked hard to be where he is,I have heard that he will do anything for the company to better himself. He has definitely earned his spot and as long as he gets a crowd response whether good or bad he is doing his job.

He had to evolve from the rapper gimmick though because it was only going to take him so far. I mean besides from him doing interviews in a rap he's still basically the same character.

No clue, I'd have to see who's in it and what the WWE/World title matches are. I'd say maybe either Triple H, Michaels or Cena if I had to make a guess today. They seem like the most obvious.

I'd actually like it if a random guy one it for once like a MVP or Miz but then loses his shot at WM at the Feb PPV or something like that. That way you try to elevate a mid carder and in the process you give the Rumble a bit of unpredictibility too, since it's pretty obvious who the winner will be each year.

Yeah I too would like it to be a random person also. I think I have heard people say Edge should enter at 30 and win but I wouldn't mind seeing Christian or Kofi take the Rumble this year,it would be a good surprise. I could also see them having Cena win the title back at the Rumble and having Sheamus winning the Rumble later that night for a rematch but I don't know because of course they want a strong Wrestlemania main event.

Ouch really? That's just dumb then as Swagger was really starting to find a solid spot on RAW. Typical WWE, he must not know how to work the 'WWE style' so they sent him to ECW for training.

I had rumors that the ECW TV show might not get renewed meaning ECW would be no more. Does anyone have any information on that? I haven't watched a single ECW show since Christian's return and before that it was when the ECW originals were still around. Isn't it about time that Christian gets called up to the big boy league (RAW or Smackdown) now?

No Swagger is still on RAW. He is just going to be on ECW next week to be in a qualifying match for the ECW Homecoming Battle Royal in a few weeks to face Christian for the title at the Royal Rumble, thats why Kane was on last night and won. They are still on their own shows but are just in a tournament.

Bret Hart signs with the WWE. One could expect a huge Hart Dynasty push with maybe a feud vs Legacy that will end at Wrestlemania.

    Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

According to a WWE source who would have full knowledge of the situation, Bret Hart has indeed signed a short-term talent contract with World Wrestling Entertainment,

The WWE Hall of Famer signed the this past week and it will cover the period from 1/1 to 4/10, or through WrestleMania and about two weeks after the 3/28 show at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.

Hart simply told a reliable source that he wasn't going to lie about anything and thus wasn't going to comment on this story.

It was said that Hart wanted his signing to be kept quiet and his return to be a surprise, but that WWE couldn't help itself but all but announced it publicly on the first RAW after the ink was dry.

Why? What exactly did the WWE do wrong to him besides the Survivor Series thing, which many people felt Bret was wrong in that situation. The Owen thing was a complete accident. But other than those two events the WWE helped make Bret and his family (Owen, Bulldog, Neidhart, Stu) tons of money through the years.

Yeah if it was possible it would draw huge money.

Owen's death, yeah. But how can you blame the WWE for Bulldog or Stu's death? Stu was around 90 when he died and Bulldog had been a steroid and painkiller user well before he even came to the WWE, it's just unfortunately the nature of the business whether it's right or wrong.

With Bret Hart coming back to work WM and likely feud with Vince, it'd be cool if WWE finally inducted him into the Hall of Fame.

Wow RAW has been beyond brutal tonight so far. Not sure which was worse between Johnny Damon having as much personality of a rock, the Tiger Woods 'joke' or the crap with DX and the Little People's Court. I'm going for the DX angle because it has taken up a good 20 minutes, while the stuff with Damon is actually painfully funny.

One positive the Cena/Swagger match was very good. Too bad it was wasted on a random RAW and not at a PPV. Imagine if the WWE used that exact match at the Dec PPV, only with Swagger getting the W and the title? He'd be a star right now.

Ok I can usually enjoy RAW but it seemed like they mailed it in tonight. Damon was just ok not great but didn't take up much time, also the Tiger parody was not funny at all it was kind of lame. I thought the matches were ok especially Swagger/Cena,I knew that would be a good match and showed why Swagger should be pushed. I didn't mind the legacy vs Kofi,Bourne, and Henry match either it was ok. Also the fact that the episode seemed to spend most time based on Hornswoggle and that is always bad. I just wish they would focus on wrestling more and comedy is ok when done right.

The Cena/Swagger and 6 man match was pretty good, the rest was crap. The DX stuff is painful each week, they just aren't funny and it's sad to see two 40 plus year old guys trying to act like class clowns. Seriously when can we see bad *** Triple H again? The Hornswoggle crap should be on ECW or Smackdown if the WWE really feels like they need to show it, not on RAW.

Agreed I want to see The Game or King of Kings gimmick back. I don't mind him being face or heel just as long as it is not comedy. Also you were right when talking about audience reaction to Sheamus,I tried to pay attention to it this week and noticed that during the match and after there was very little reaction and the crowd was just sitting there. Although I am kind of looking forward to Smackdown, they have put on a good show recently. I also think TNA has been decent,I started trying to catch that every week and it has been good so far.

Hey you brought it up not me, haha. But seriously again I stress the guy is the WWE Champion and the crowd was sitting on their hands during his entrance and were popping more for when MVP came out then when Sheamus did. Sheamus is suppose to be this bad *** heel yet everytime Cena challenges him he walks away. How is that suppose to get him over? At least they finally let him face a real wrestler this time (sidenote it's clear the whole MVP experiment is over with for awhile anyway).

Next week's RAW should be interesting to see if they put Cena over Sheamus. Connecticut has always been a pretty good wrestling crowd, so it should be interesting to see what the reaction is for the guy. The WWE is barely using the guy, he never does interviews and is barely getting any air time. Right now I'm not sure how they let Sheamus keep the belt heading into the Royal Rumble, but I guess since the Rumble match itself is the draw of the PPV they might be able to get away with it, if they book a strong Smackdown title match. Either way so far the Sheamus RAW era has been a big flop.

As for TNA there are strong rumors that Nash is going to bring Hall and X-Pac in to help win the tag belts. Also Hogan and Bischoff are seriously thinking about changing the 6 sided ring into a traditional 4 sided ring, which I'm in favor of.

Yeah you were right but I think Sheamus just needs more time and hopefully they realize that,he has got to make a name for himself to the audience and give them a reason to react. Also I do see Cena winning the belt back on this last RAW of the year.

Yeah TNA has been interesting as of late but I dont think X-Pac and Hall are the way to go,I think they should focus on the younger guys looking to the future. I really hope they do alright on the 4th competition is always good, what show are you going to catch on the 4th,I plan to probably just go back and forth especially during commercials or segments I don't like.
