Nate ever here of the phrase a day too late and a dollar too short ? Maybe if we played like a playoff team we would be leading the division by now, but now due to poor play we are on the outside looking in.
Well, the happy Dolphins scenario at 4:30 pm Sunday: 1. Ravens lose 2. Broncos lose 3. Jags lose 4. Colts lose to the Jests 5. Titans lose We become the #6 seed with a couple of teams in our rearview heading into Sunday with a win and in your in scenario. And the 72 Dolphin perfect season remains intact.
Should be a fun two weeks 7171. We just have beat a team we haven't beaten and the defending Super Bowl Champs trying to climb over us to make the playoffs. Hey, no problemo...
Or we could lose on Sunday and the Ravens win as well as the Colts winning. That would functionally eliminate us. It's high stakes weekend 7171, there is no escaping that one.
Yeah that's true. Perhaps we could shock the world by first beating Houston, then Pittsburgh and sneak into the playoffs
Well, if we beat the Texans, and beat the Steelers, one time we have never beaten and the other the SB Champs facing elimination from the playoffs, then we would not be sneaking in.
What is so damn unbelievable about this scenario. I mean if you read the comments on that board it's as if Miami's making the playoffs would be a greater miracle than defeating the Russian hockey team or the 2007 Mavs. - Pittsburgh AT HOME beats their division rival to stay in the playoff hunt. - There's no doubt in my mind New England will romp Jacksonville, no doubt at all. That doesn't even have to be mentioned. The chances of a Jacksonville win are comically small. - We beat Houston and Pittsburgh. Eliminate step two, I'm not even mentioning it. What the heck is so damn complicated? We're not in Tennessee or Houston's situation. We're at home where we've played far better all year, it's not even close. We nearly beat Indianapolis and New Orleans at home. Houston has one threat, one threat, not multiple threats like Tennessee. Run the constant double on Andre Johnson and take what he gives you. Houston can be beat, I'm sick of that team it's time they go down. Pummel them. As for Pittsburgh, they're inconsistent and their offensive line sucks. It'll be difficult but it can be done.
Nah Killerp, I see it both ways, really what our season boils down to is how well will Chad Henne play in the next two games. Henne could be the hero, or the goat, my goodness I hope he plays his best games and we make the playoffs as an entire offseason of bash Henne threads would be simply terrible.
we are on the same page somewhere henne will get hammered if he doesnt play well in the next two games it wont be his fault IMO you more than likely read what i put out there in another thread i cant blame henne i wont see him as a goat the impatient fans will he is a good qb will get much better
An even unlikelier situation, but possible- we win with an 8-8 record: Week 16- (conceding the 5 seed to Denver in this situation) We lose to Hou (they seem to have our #), Ten loses, Jax loses, Pit beats Bal, & for fun lets say the Jets win (does not matter in this situation, but I like to get their fans' hopes up)... Standings are: Bal 8-7 (Conf 6-5) NYJ 8-7 (Conf 6-5) Pit 8-7 (Conf 5-6) Hou 8-7 (Conf 5-6) Jax 7-8 (Conf 6-5) Mia 7-8 (Conf 5-6) Ten 7-8 (Conf 4-8) Then in week 17, we beat Pit, Jax loses, Bal loses, Hou loses, the jets lose, & lets say Ten wins... Standings are: Mia 8-8 (Conf 6-6) Bal 8-8 (Conf 6-6) NYJ 8-8 (Conf 6-6) Pit 8-8 (Conf 6-6) Hou 8-8 (Conf 5-7) Ten 8-8 (Conf 4-8) Jax 7-9 According to the Playoff Generator, we would win the 6th seed in this scenario (strength of schedule, I think), & play the Pats in the 1st round of the playoffs! Of course I think the key to any playoff situation is Pitt beating Balt at home this week.
