What type of burner you got bro?
Chances are pretty good the manufacturer has a driver available on their website.

For flat out burning CD's, I believe the softare du jour is NERO?....or something similar

I was into making home movies at one point, from my Digital Camcorder, and the name that kept coming up was NERO for making multiple copies...Hope that helps :knucks:

EDIT: And oh yeah, I-Tunes does suck, for just about anything and everything.

I got a nice new 5th gen Nano for xmas, and have to upgrade to I-Tunes 9.0 to run the damn thing :pity:

As for burning, just use windows media player...it has a built in CD burning engine that works as good as anything out there and is fairly quick.

For drivers, look at your brand CD burner and go to their website (lite-on, sony, etc). They will have a link up top for drivers and all are fairly easy to use. Download the drivers, install them, and reboot...you should be good to go.

As far as your failure rate burning CD's, it would not be ITunes or the program you are using unless there is a setting off somewhere (which is unlikely unless you went into options and changed random settings....if you did, go back in and revert everything back to default). 10% of the time your CD burner is the problem, and 89% of the time it is the CD's themselves you are using.

Many companies make super cheap CD's and (to cut thru the technical stuff) the dye that records the music image fails in the part of the CD that loads the music. Most of the data is there but your player doesn't know how to start it. Memorex CD's/DVD's are famous for being the absolute worst burnable media, while Sony's CD's are usually rated among the best. Spend the extra $2-$3 bucks for good media and most of your headaches will go away.

If you have any specific questions regarding burning, I'll try to watch this post to answer it for ya.

    Agreed 1000000000% on the brand.

Maybe your drive (the DVD reader/burner in general) is shot, that could be an issue too. A new drive is pretty cheap, $30 will net you a pretty good one, just buy it from NewEgg.com.
