Chances are EXTREMELY GOOD. However, if the Jags do not lose a game, they are in with a better Conf record.

Well not exactly, because there's always the scenario that the Broncos win both games and Baltimore loses two on the road (extremely unlikely). All-in-all though if the Jaguars win the Dolphins' situation becomes a dire all-or-nothing.

Here's some fun. The Jets can beat Indy and Cinci, having a better SOV than all, and sit home. The rules are that only the second place team in a division can be a WC, and we win that battle with our two wins.

NOW THAT WOULD BE SPECIAL!!! LOL

It would be special if they preserve Perfectville for another year.

Sitting home would just be the icing on the cake!!!!!!

    Think Ryan bombs just because?:shifty:

it's amazing how little you all know
this is what this team needs
    a win...
    a new england win
    a pittsburgh win

a denver loss also helps but not a big deal if the other 2 games go that way.

The heck are you talking about we've discussed that a million times.

We're talking about other ways in, improve your comprehension before telling us how little we know.

Why argue? Strength of victory is still very much in play even without Denver in the picture, as is conference records. I was mainly asking for other simple routes to the playoffs (like NE lose twice, Pitt win then lose, etc) so we would know who we are rooting for tommorrow.

Thanks for the answers, they helped a lot.

All this stuff back and forth, it really does boil down to the Dolphins winning 2 games and seeing what happens afterwards.

Put it this way, everything could line up perfectly this weekend, we still have to beat a desperate Steelers team next week, so before people get worked up, just see what happens/

roger, we'll know what next week's game means tomorrow afternoon ... i do feel that both BAL and DEN will lose ... most certainly DEN.

IF both DEN and BAL lose .... then we 'might' still be ok if JAX wins .... JAX would be guaranteed a WC spot, then its the tie breakers between BAL - DEN and MIA ... we 'know' that MIA > BAL ... so it comes down to whether we can beat DEN ...

but, it still keeps alive the prospect of the DIV as well ....

so long as MIA wins these next 2 games ... it makes for an interesting time !

Exactly, not to get preachy but things are both out of the Dolphins hands, and in their hands, getting worked up now makes no sense, basically the next two games are elimination games, lose one and we are out, win both we more than likely will be in the playoffs.

Grab a frosty beverage and relax :ffic: , 21 hours from now we will know if next week matters, or who is still alive and in the hunt.

I'm not cheering for the Patriots. I just don't want the Jaguars to win. If you're a gambler I guess you'll cheer for the Jaguars hoping the Texans can beat the Patriots as well. Not likely so I'll be cheering for the Jaguars to lose.

Fundamentally I can't get a grasp on having to pull for the Patriots........there just is something wrong with being a fan of theirs, its almost as bad as being a Jest fan. Personally I'd rather die a slow death by arsenic poisoning.

Yea no doubt. loses at Buffalo, Tenessee and Atlanta killed us. Games we should have man handled them 10-4 right now would be awesome. Throw in the 2 collapses at Indy and New Orleans and well...................................................Superbowl talk?

I think the early games wherer Ginn dropped all the touchdown passes in the 4th quarter got me the most. We had Indy beat if he just pulled it in...three of the first four games we lost was solely because of Ginn choking in the 4th quarter. Hard to pick just one game though....they all were tough losses since we were only blown out once.

The Ginn drops are memorable and yes he should have made them, no doubt. But he isn't the sole reason we lost those games, albeit a big part of it.

1, 1, 2, 3-how much the Texans have beaten us by in each game they've played us. I'm hoping we win no matter what, but a blowout payback victory would be sweet, I'm sick of the Texans.

how can the jags be ahead of us in any scenario if the record is the same, we beat them head to head and this is always the first tie breaker that counts

if more than 2 teams are tied.....then the head to head tiebreaker is eliminated. leaving the tie breaker being conference record and so on.....

Chances are that the Jags come into play in a 3 or more team tiebreaker. In that case, head to head only counts if all teams have played each other.

We have not played Balt or Denver. Therefore, that tiebreaker is out and we go to the next, which is Conference record. Jags have only lost 4, and we have lost 5.

The exception being that if two teams are in the same division, the head to head is used to break the tie. Only the 2nd place team can qualify.

    Poor little Jetskies. LOL
