Beat the Steelers Oakland beats Baltimore Cleveland beats Jacksonville Cincinnati beats the Jets New England beats Houston We are in!
give it up ive been saying for weeks now we wouldnt win out i was told i wasnt a good fan i knew this team was too young and inconsistent no one believed me its done !!!!!
It's painful but it's over. All of those things will not happen. Maybe we can at least end the season on a high note and beat the Steelers. The Jets are going to win consecutive backup bowls and get in to the postseason. I'm so disgusted right now I can hardly stand it.
I agree. Theres nothing more frustrating than pointing out the obvious and facing reality and then your loyalty as a fan gets questioned. We all want to believe we`re better than we are but we need help in key areas. We`re not a player or two,or a season or two from being a serious contender, sorry to say.
You forgot the part about Jesus coming back again too to make it official! Would be funny if this happened! Heck, I'm just hoping for a solid win and 8-8 and let the offseason begin!
You all have a better shot of picking the winning Powerball numbers then all five of those games going like that. Ohhhh well......we get a better pick in the draft. We need to get better on both sides of the ball before we can be a contender.
Not really making fun of you - just posting what I think the chances are of it happening. I actually came into the thread to find out, as I was also asking!
Never stopped some for getting sex....but playoffs......damn we have some wacked out fans for sure! /thread back open
I'm sorry for not being a complete homer and actually speaking how I honestly feel. I apologize. It'll never happen again. Almost forgot what forum I was on. Would you really be happy for this group if they were handed a playoff spot at 8-8? Undeserving. Don't want it. Next year.
You can speak your opinion...but lets not get FACTS in the way! You qualify based on math....thus you deserve if math says its so. Homer means qualifying for the playoffs if it happens? Homer doesnt means we should root but feel we didnt deserved it based on the way the GAME works! ok, me homer....you not!
As sad as it would be, I'd take it! We've missed the playoffs enough in the past by a game that this would maybe make up for it. 2002? 2003??? At the very least, it would be some playoff experience for Henne, and the other youngin's. Granted, it would likely be a bitter loss to the Patriots up in Foxboro, but so what. I'd take it to have a shot. Plus, if we won, it would make this a little sweeter, eh! So, as unlikely as this all will be, I'll be rooting for it next week until shown otherwise!
I think we'd handle the Patriots just fine given another chance, but enough drama already for one season. It's clearly official, the NFL refs are the AFC East champions with a perfect record down the stretch this season.
This season is just a disaster. I want it to end. Bring me the offseason please... and a good one at that, not a joke like the previous one.
this season wasnt a disaster stood strong just couldnt get over that hump dug a hole early and it took the team way too long to get above .500 mostly young and inconsistent group on the field we were competitive
not a player or two...about 5 or 6. WR, TE, NT, ILB, FS but we are damn sure one offseason away from being a serious contender. a good offseason.
I sure hope you`re right but its never easy improving to serious contender status in one off season when you have so many holes to fill. Like you mentioned we`re probably 6 players away from seriously improving. And,lets not forget next year Ricky will be 33, Ronnie proved he`s not too durable, and Taylor and Porter are not exactly in their prime. I`m not trying to be negative, just pointing out the obvious.
It's easier than you think. That is what Free Agency , The Draft and trades are for. don't forget that we have alot of young players that will improve.
Re: Our Playoff Path Hell yeh Id take it, are you kidding? If we get in, we deserve it. Case in point...just look at the number of .500 teams..there's not a ton separating everyone, and most teams haven't had close to the number of injuries. Plus, it's great xp for Henne and the rooks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Was this a joke, are we really still in it, I thought the announcers said if we lost today we were out. Can a team really make it at 8-8?
Just saw it, however the Ravens and Jets are the only 2 teams that control their destiny. If either of those 2 win, their in. I doubt the Raiders can beat the Raiders.
We are done there is no way those scenarios r gonna come out. It just pisses me of that the jests had to get in this way. Beating Indy's backups and probably will beat the Bengal's backups. They will become the 5th seed and play the Bengals in the playoffs and with their luck beat them. I hate the @#$%^ jests. The dolphins need a big time WR ( lets go out in free agency and get one) Bring in an experience CB to help those kids at the corners. The secondary is what we need most help at. Get rid of Wilson and bring in an average Safety cause Wilson aint close to average, he's just Brutal. Our D-line is ranked 2nd in sacks and are pretty good against the run. Our O-line has done a tremendous job opening holes for Ronnie and Ricky and has given henne time to throw the ball. Sign Ronnie and Ricky and were set.
After what we did last year? Don't see it. I certainly expected a step back with this schedule, but my goodness... this was an awful year, IMO. Just awful. Aside from Henne showing his stuff and getting the much needed experience (good and bad), I can't think of much good at all. A good offseason can go a long way to fixing everything though. Can't say I'm confident it'll happen. This FO did nothing to improve last offseason, and it showed. Big time.
Well, Henne is the biggest positive from this year for sure. There are plenty others who are developing into SOLID players as well, on both sides of the ball. Randy Starks and Kendall Langford have been playing at a Pro Bowl level. Phillip Merling and Paul Soliai have played well too. Vontae Davis has got it all and looks well on his way to becoming one of the better corners in the league. Sean Smith has proven himself to be quite the corner as well...and they're both rookies! Brian Hartline, another rookie, has shown big play ability. Davone Bess is one of the best receivers in the league on 3rd down. Not to mention guys like Jake Long and Jake Grove who have played outstanding on the line all year. All the guys I mentioned have one thing in common. Youth. The experience they all gained this season sets us up for big things not only next season but for the future as well. Yes we have a few needs and yes there have been some painful losses this year but by getting all these young players on the field consistently will only lead us to where we want to be and quicker. Even if we only have a decent offseason, I expect us to be a damn good football team next season.
Before today, the Jets were the longest of long shots. There is a possibility of all the teams at 8-7 losing: *Jax playing at a surging Cleveland *Jets playing a team wanting to win for Chris Henry, plus the cold could affect their QB *Ravens playing at Oakland, a team that has beaten several playoff-bound teams already *New England finally showing an offensive output playing the Texans (this one worries me that Bellicheat know that if his team lays down, it's bad for us & the jets) *Us shocking the world by beating the steelers! Stranger things have happened.
