as there is only 1 unbeaten left. Time for Mercury Morris to come out of hiding and put the Perfectville hex on them.
I was more worried about the saints than Indy. We could see what happened a few years ago with New England with Indy going undefeated and losing in the superbowl. Possibly to the saints.
Well I'll still be rooting for Indy against the Jets next weekend. And TBH, if anyone joins the Dolphins, I wouldn't mind it being Peyton and the Colts. He deserves it
There are two houses in perfectville. Ours and one that is haunted by an evil ****ing ghost nobody wants to move into that other house for whatever reason
Manning is a playoff choke artist. There is no way the colts go undefeated, even if they go 16-0. The Saints were the unbeaten team to be worried about. Thanks Dallas.
Saints and the Colts are very good teams, but neither are undefeated worthy. Both have had to have some very lucky breaks to be undefeated still. Only a matter of time before the Colts follow suit and lose one. That being said if anybody is going to go undefeated, I wouldn't mind the Colts doing it. I know for a fact Patriot fans will be PISSED if Peyton and the Colts do what they failed to do.
my problem isnt with peyton or the colts but more so caldwell. this dude is 14-0 as a head coach and you know he hasn't done a damn thing since dungy left. that just eats me alive. ANYONE could be 14-0 as the colts head coach. the very idea that this guy is n the realm of shula is ridiculous.
The fact of the matter is that if the Colts do end up running the table, the 1972 Dolphins have no one to blame but the 2009 Dolphins when they had them on the ropes, and as Denny Green says "Let em off the hook."
I, too, think Payton is a class act and if anyone is to ever join us he would be the one person that I would deem worthy! Really, I would hope we don't open that pandora's box as some could say a certain beloved QB on this forum fits that bill, too. I for one don't believe it for one second and I say the same about Peyton who I put in the very same class as the unnamed QB! Every guy need to stand up for his beliefs! Having read this whole thread where did anyone say anything about Caldwell being the second coming of Don Shula? I would bet you my last wooden nickel that most weren't even thinking about this guy when talking of Peyton and the Colts going undefeated, I sure wasn't!
That has nothing to do with the current discussion, I'm not trying to debate Marino vs. Manning in anyway shape or form. Fact is, Peyton Manning does not have a great track record in the playoffs. He has had tons of talent around him his whole career (offensive line, RB, WR) and has consistently been mediocre. Even the year in which Peyton won the SB, he didn't play that well. Bob Sanders was far more important in those victories in the playoffs. I don't see Indy running the table in the playoffs. I think the more physical playoff teams will give Indy fits. Odds are they will go 16-0, and I think they're done in the AFC divisional round.
The only reason I would like to see the Colts go 16-0 is so the Patriots can't say they are the only team to go 16-0 in the regular season. The Colts already broke their little 21 game winning streak. I don't think the Colts are going to run the table though. My question is....are the Patriots going to keep up the banner?

I took it as Caldwell shouldn't be in the same breathe as Shula when it comes to coaches who coached undefeated teams.
Would be great for the Colts to go 16-0 in the regular season and then we go to Indy and beat them in the AFC Championship game. Pats fans would be pissed that only two years after they went undefeated in the regular season Manning and company followed suit. And we get our revenge for manhandling the Colts for 45 MINUTES and giving away the game to them on that Monday night early in the season.
The Colts have shopped around the area before but, this year more than ever look to be getting the deal done.
Beating the Colts in the playoffs would be very sweet. Defending the perfect season as well as revenge for that horrific loss to them this year. I've never seen a team get so dominated and just win off of a couple of big plays like that. Their defense is not a championship defense, I dont see them getting past the Chargers in the playoffs, the perfect season stays in tact this year.
Exactly. Colts defense is way suspect. We gave up 10 points to the Jags, and then the next week the Jags put up 31 on Colts D. Says a lot to me.
I don't think the Colts defense is that bad. I think they just have match up problems against big, physical teams. I think their other weakness is their lack of balance on offense. It's always easier to stop an offense that's one dimensional. IMO it's actually easier stop a one-dimensional running offense than a one-dimensional passing offense. But it's still a weakness.
How any Dolphins fan can celebrate a JETS win disgusts me. DISGUSTS. I'd sooner get crabs then be happy for a Jets win.
You could see a complete different team when they pulled Manning. Without Manning, that Colts team looks pretty average. Great to see that record still standing after 37 years. And to think that 72 team had to play that great Pittsburgh team, up in Pittsburgh, for the AFL Championship Game is a pretty amazing feat.
Yay our season is over! I can go route for the 72 dolphins now! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im kinda tired of it. Sorry.
I'm kinda tired of hearing about Dolfans who are tired of the greatest team in NFL history. 1972 Undefeated Miami Dolphins. The greatest team in NFL history. 17-0. Doesn't get old for me. Ever. Sorry.
That's the only solace I was able to take out of last week. It's the only true thing that us as fans can still hold onto, as our team hasn't been to an SB in ages. The only time I'd be ok letting this one go is if it's a team I like (I'm thinking like the Packers back when Favre had integrity), and in a year that we had recently won the superbowl in. Or for that matter if the dolphins do it a second time, I'd be ok with that, lol
