Not sure what you are asking? Are you asking about the throwing knives in the campaign? In that case I am not sure. As far as a difficulty level....there is only one for the campaign, not the online stuff
I roll with the AA-12 as my secondary weapon....freakin' love that gun with extended clips. Nothing better to clear a room or in close quarters IMO. A 1/3 of all my kills are with the AA-12
Have you even bothered playing the campaign? Because it is absolutely awesome. I haven't seen anyone "go back to Cod4".
My buddy went back about a week ago. I've been splitting time between MW2 and World At War. World at War, IMO, is a superior online experience. The maps are MUCH better. The matchmaking is better. The spawn points are WAY better and the weapon balance is better (accept for the overpowered MP40). In World at War you could play any style (run and gun, camp, snipe, stealth) but you had to adapt because of the layout of the maps. If you camped out you would die. The objective based games (Domination and Headquarters) were ACTUALLY objective based. The MW2 objective games are almost pointless. You have 16 people playing the objective game but only half the players in the room are trying to capture the objective and win the game. The killstreak bonuses are too alluring for people to not camp. I understand camping ONCE an objective has been captured (especially in Headquarters) but 95% of the time you have guys that find a good spot near the flag but make no effort to actually capture the objective, they camp near it and pick people off trying to gain the objective. Headquarters (my favorite game mode) is TOTALLY unplayable in MW2. 99% of the flags are in confined spaces/up stairs. Add to that the underpowered grenades and you have what you have in Headquarters on MW2. Team A captures the flag and can hold it for the entire time limit because players can't get near it. I was playing in Favela and the flag was on the 2nd floor. I ran up there and there was a guy on a table that shotgunned me when I got to the top of the stairs. Myself and 2 other team mates all threw grenades at the same time through a window into the room...and the guy did not die. 3 grenades in a confined space and the guy lived....to kill about 5 more team mates and hold the flag for the entire time limit....JOKE. IW could do simple things to improve objective based games. 1.) Fix the damn spawn points. I'm REALLY tired of playing domination, fighting my way to the other side of the map to capture a flag, capturing said flag but getting gunned down by the other team and then spawning at the furthest possible point away from the flag after capturing it. Allowing the other team to easily recapture it. 2.) New flag points in Headquarters. 3.) Nuke disabled in objective based games.
as far as the objectives being pointless on MW2....that's a load of bull. it's the exact same as MW and WOW....some peole are just there to kill. Nice try trying to say that is a MW2 issue....
Well then you dont know a lot of people then because plenty have gone back. What's the campaign have to do with anything?
Load of bull how? I mean I understand there's a lot of IW fanboys out there but wow. Even they will tell you objective based games are pointless and FFA is completely unplayable. I haven't even gotten into the crapfest that is Hardcote TDM. MW2 does a good job at oohing and awing but the gameplay is absolute ****.
uhhh...thought I explained it pretty good. How people play the game isn't a game issue...it's a player issue. And folks have done that in all the games not just this one like you made it seem
That is your opinion and I have mine. Headquarters is TOTAL garbage in MW2, no point in even playing it. That (and Domination about 25% of the time) were the only game modes I played in MW1 and World at War. I've completely abandoned playing it in MW2 and I'm not alone. Fix the flag points and the spawn points and it has possibilities. Saying the game has no issues is very fanboyish.
It is a game issue. The horrible maps are a game issue. The horrible spawn points are a game issue. The ridiculously overpowered assault rifles are a game issue. No recoil in 90% of the weapons is a game issue. Terrible flag locations is a game issue. Bad matchmaking is a game issue. Kill streak rewards that make camping far to easy are a game issue. Hey, I like the game but to say it has no issues is just wrong.
Absolutely agree. The most exciting campaign I have ever played from start to finish. IW really went all out on this one. Spoiler So based on the ending, there will probably be a MW3?
just installed it tonite for PC... having a blast with the campaign. the game warned me about unsettling gameplay. and they were right. whoa. thats as far as i've gotten so far.
i have a feeling the campaign mode will keep me busy for some time. just got to the second level that was "unsettling" after the NORAD satellites go down.
Trying the campaign on veteran after completing it on Hardened...the Airport level is IMPOSSIBLE! But I'm getting used to the multiplayer and my KD is going up and up as I'm getting adjusted to the new levels and guns
finished teh campaign tonite... wow, that was incredible. soooooo, did anybody else catch the voice of "Ghost" and figure there would be an unmasking at some point?
Ghost was by far the coolest character in the last 5 years as far as FPS games are concerned. I never thought there would be an un-masking, but I did purchase a similar skull mask for motorcycle riding
even after the other surprise resurrection? i caught the voice before that, and then i thought for sure he would be unmasked as Gaz at some point. that character was very cool. gonna start another campaign now and go for all the intel this time, so i can get the cheats in single player.
what's up with this??? if you haven't finished the game, don't look, but i have a questin for those who have. thanks. Spoiler so i finished campaign mode, Nikolai picks us up after the knife-to-the-head ending... i go thru the credits, museum stuff, and play around with the Special Ops stuff a bit. so today i open the game again, and notice it says i am 51% thru with my campaign on the main menu and the stats screen. it ran the credits, i saw the museum stuff, what gives with the 51%?
Spoiler You need to collect the intel items, that are scattered throughout the game. That will give you 100% for the game.
The F2000 is amazing... I never used it before (don't know why) and that's a shame because the gun is legit. It's a sub machine gun with range pretty much. The Christmas n00bs are jacking my k/d... I'm going 20+ K and -10 D almost every match.
only played a few matches after Christmas since I've been playing the New Super Mario with my son. The new kids that I played with got spanked around pretty badly too. No joke, one game I got into I went 27-0 in the first 30 seconds of the game. It was Afghan, we spawned at A, I rushed up through the bunkers and introduced their team to my 'Danger Close' build haha. Unfortunately for them they all spawned up there again and were reintroduced. Had the AC-130 out at the 15 second mark
Hmm, I found veteran mode the easiest out of all the COD's I've completed (2, 4 and 5). I thought the veteran mode was very easy, there were no "WTF, I'm stuck here" moments were I would have to play the same section for hours on end (think taking out the Flak88's in COD5 on vet, still have nightmares about that grenade fest). There were even some levels were I didn't die once on.
Just finished the Campaign last night Pretty cool ending. I screwed myself by not even really looking for the Intel items though. Think I only found about 9 throughout the game. Spec Ops seems really cool though. Reminds me of the mini-games after you beat RE4.
Multiplayer is sucking balls right now... Every ****ing idiot has some grenade/rocket launcher with danger close. The game seriously blows right now. I'm going negative every ****ing game with this ****.
This is why I won't even try MW2 online anymore. People just exploit it too much for my tastes and its not really fun. Infinity Ward or whoever really needs to tighten up the ship.
Every game has people who exploit, they'll fix it and then something new will be expoitable. And believe me, I hate those grenade launchers too, I snipe a lot and when I get picked off by a random grenade launcher (never seen me, just shot up), it pisses me off.
Some of the Spec Ops missions are ridiculously hard. Maybe I just suck at the game, but goddamn. Getting 3 stars on some of those levels is near impossible.
I'm getting really frustrated with this game... How people can have the snap reaction time and perfect aim is beyond me. I wish KB and mouse were usable for FPS. I'm getting bored of going 13-10 every game. I can't get a 5 kill streak to save my ****ing life. I'm pretty sure I'm done with the game. I might play a bit here and there until Mass Effect 2.
Holy carp!!! I just witnessed my kid (who's 10 BTW) go 69-7 in one match. He ran up his kill streak tree 2.5 times and was just laying waste to noobs with the C130. ATTENTION NOOBS: when you hear the shreiking sound run for cover!!! I can't even play with him anymore, his freaking twitch ability is nutz... Prestige 4 and counting...
I played with one kid today who went 25+ and -10 in every game he played. He def. was 13 or under. Everyone was hating on him in the lobby for being young, but he was great. Not the first one I've encountered either. Kids are beastly.
I agree but MW2 has taken it to a new level with exploits, cheats, etc. I just hope they fix it because if not to me there are about a million better FPS MP modes out there.
Yeah some people are just insane with how good they are. I consider myself above average, but definitely not great. I think my sniping is top notch, but running and gunning... not so much. Highrise, Afghan, and Underpass are my levels and I snipe on all three of them. I do feel stupid going +10 or +15 then dropping to +2 or -3 on the run and gun levels like Favela and Karachi though lol..
that's why I don't snipe. The first guy I kill seems to always be the 1 guy that actually watches the kill cam and then 5 seconds later I'm stunned/flashed or noob tubed.
Little tip for sniping in non hardcore game modes: After sniping someone, don't instantly zoom out and reload.. instead hold your scope zoomed in for 2-3 seconds and they have a tougher time figuring out where you are.
This is excellent advice, I try to stay zoomed as much as possible to not give away my position. Using a silencer with stopping power is also very good advice, however you're vulnerable to UAVs and thermals... There's not a perfect way to snipe silently unless you're in hardcore mode. When moving around, I don't suggest running around with your sniper. Simply because if someone comes around close corners, you probably won't quick scope or no scope him... you'll need a decent weapon. Also because it's a lot easier to spot someone running around with a sniper than a machine pistol or shotgun. Make sure you try to use your environment to your advantage, don't travel in open spaces is what I mean by this... And this is most important, don't stay in the same spot the entire game. I don't mind people who camp when they are sniping, but usually you have to move around a bit to snipe well and not get picked off. This is what I roll with and it works out great: Barrett .50 (Silencer/Heartbeat) Rangers (Akimbo/FMJ) [A Machine Pistol with FMJ and your choice works great also] Bling Pro Stopping Power Pro (Switch with cold-blooded if you're playing hardcore) Ninja Pro Claymores and Smoke Grenade I will tell you this though, you may suck at first when sniping with a silencer on non-hardcore... but I guarantee you it'll make you a much more accurate sniper. Nearly all of your shots will be in the chest/head area...
In your free time while not sniping then, accept my friend request! I think I've had "friend request pending" for a few days now... matitude13 is my GT.
