What does this have to do with really anything at all I've mentioned? That is completely and totally nonsensical in light of Lex Hilliard having all of 6 carries on White.

I'm still waiting for you to explain why Lex Hilliard needs carries to prove he's a worthwhile runner and Pat White does not. I don't know what you just did, but that clearly isn't it.

You're not even pretending now, at least before you would sort of actually try to defend the comments you made.

this is a lex hilliard thread and you tried to make it about pat white
    lex scored twice today
we are developing the guy at that position
rick got hurt and he is the backup
lex filled in great and has a bunch to offer
he played well and i told you so before that he can do that

    Canada EH!
I wouldn't say he doesn't run hard, but he sure does run light for a 240lb RB. He gets stopped cold way too much.

About something YOU wrote in another thread, after you yourself brought a thread you posted something else in up?

And that still isn't really explaining in the slightest bit your differentiation between the two.

    @Disgustipate:

I'm not saying Hilliard would have lit the world on fire against Buffalo, Jax, NE, or Tennessee.

What I am saying is that Ricky obviously couldn't do it by himself and still can't. I'd rather have him split carries with Lex and watch Lex only get 3.3 YPC than have them force feed Ricky touches where he's gonna put the ball on the ground, drop passes, and run uninspired when his body gets tired.

And with the way our team has become more pass dominant the past 4 games, it boggles my mind even more seeing as how Lex appeared to have really good hands yesterday(much better hands than Ricky).

Bottom Line here is: It doesn't matter if going into the season Lex Hilliard was to be nothing more than a change of pace 3rd down back. Circumstances changed and changed drastically when Ronnie and Cobbs went down. Hilliard, IMO, should've immediately seen more touches solely on the fact that Ricky Williams is 32, and especially after he fumbled 4 times in 2 games, while dropping at least 3 passes

I agree. Which begs the question...why wasn't he used more leading up to today's game?

I also don't get this whole thing about Lexy not running hard. Maybe I missed it, but every time I saw him take a hand-off, he looked like he was running hard to me.

I don't know you can attribute the fumbles to any kind of Ricky fatigue. He fumbles, he fumbled when he was younger and fresher. His play hasn't been as good recently but I don't think the article of faith he is worn down is correct

I fully agree....that is why you have quality backups. There are tons of superstars riding the bench in the NFL just waiting for their chance to prove themselves, and Hilliard finally got his chance this week. If you guys watched preseason at all where Hilliard won almost every game with solid rushing in the fourth quarter, this would not be a shocker to you.

i brought that thread up because I was talking about hilliard in that thread and how he is used wrong
i said it then we should see more of him
said he could get the job done
you seem to keep wanting me to talk about pat white
white is a qb who comes in and hands off the ball
hilliard is the backup running back who came in and scored twice
    he should play more
how hard is that for you to understand

    two points
    1) they ended up limiting his carries to 27, so he had 2 more then they wanted.
    2) We chose to throw it in the fourth quarter primarily when we were down. Before that the first series in the fourth quarter we had a ratio of 3 passes to 2 carries. Second series we had 2 passes to one run.

Well here is where I have to disagree.

    He's 32
He hasn't had this many carries in 6 years.

And I usually don't read into these types of things too much either, but he doesn't sound motivated when he speaks and he certainly didn't sound motivated when Ronnie Brown went down and was asked about taking on the full load of carries.

I don't think he ever liked being used too much. He was comfortable in his limited role when Ronnie took majority of the carries, and once Ronnie went down he hasn't looked comfortable since. I think it's a mentality issue at this point too.

But I do agree that the fumbleitis is nothing new with him
