We all know that injuries are part of the game, and you have to deal with it. We also know that when your best players are out, you're looking more at the draft than a Super Bowl. IF we have just Ronnie, no way we lose the last two games. I would also give us a more than fair chance of a playoff win, perhaps more. Ask Indy, SD, or the Pats if they think we would be easy with Ronnie and the WC. Thoughts?
Unfortunately I don't see Ronnie stopping the Texans from taking that commanding lead they did. Maybe the int goes differently with ronnie catching it, who knows. I guess it really completely changes the dynamic though, if he had helped us score on an early drive, and kept the game from going into a 3 score game. I think we were a viable team, but playing against any of the great/elite teams proved to be a huge huge problem for our D. It would have been an offensive shootout that would probably be no different than a craps roll of the dice.
Really? So Ronnie would have defended Vince Young's passes? How about maybe he would have contained Chris Johnson? Maybe Ronnie could have covered Andre Johnson and prevented him from scoring? Ronnie definitely could've filled in for Channing Crowder and would have done a much better job than Ayodele/Torbor. The Wildcat was dead when he got hurt(if you deny that then you are more a Dolphins fan rather than a football fan) and it was actually hindering us from progressing Henne.
If Ronnie Brown, Will Allen, and Jason Furguson were not injured and my aunt had a package, we'd be in the playoffs and my aunt would be my uncle. If are moot, but I'm proud of the way this team stayed in it through week 16 in the face of adversity. Bodes well for the future.
Well in a different sort of way he could help do all those things. By teaming with Ricky to pound the rock, we wouldn't wear either one of them out as fast. So we could run our full rushing attack at them and chew time off the clock helping prevent more dmg from all those things you listed.
True story but, it is a bit of fun. Here's another. What if the 09 team played the 08 schedule, and the 08 team played the 09 schedule? How would our records change?
Heres one for you. What if we finish 3rd this year. Pats, Jets, Phins, Bills. Next year we add a few key players have Ronnie back healthy. We have a easier schedule a healthy wildcat and Henne with a season under his belt passing. (sweep our division)
A FEW KEY PLAYERS unlocks the opportunity to be a legit contender for a title. There are no elite team out there, just a number of VG ones. This off season is going to be EXTREMELY important. Add those few players (LB, LB, and LB) and I like our chances with anyone.
Caca del Toro from a donkey is not always appreciated. A little change in your altitude of attitude may be, JMO.
too often i hear people talk about "if we had ronnie" ive grown to expect not to have him for a full season im surprised he made it through the 08 season without hitting ir he doesnt make that big of difference the defense folded this season
My big 'What If' is "What if Miami wins tomorrow and Jacksonville, the Jets, Ravens, and Houston lose...then Miami makes the playoffs." Obviously it has a .00001% chance of happening but it is my favorite 'What If' scenario. I think it would just be wild because we all have already moved on to next season and forget that we are still in the playoff mix at Week 17 with the league's hardest schedule even if we are alive by a hair. Sure I've moved on as well and expect a 7-9 finish with a mid round first round pick and am already thinking of who that will be...but hey that could be one hell of a 'What If' scenario. I mean could you imagine all of our shock if we went from talking about next season to being in the playoffs.
