Also for what its worth and off topic a bit I think this thread has taken a good turn in the right direction. Hat's off to everyone who helped push this thread in the right direction.
Ive said it before and I'll say it again. I honestly hope Pennington goes onto a new team, starts, and wins a Superbowl. I have more respect for Penny then anyone else in the NFL. For his entire career he has done absolutely everything the right way. I even liked him in NY Then of course I would love for him to come back to the Dolphins, in a coaching role. This is by no means a critique of the Dolphins, we have what we believe to be our future QB, and the best thing for both parties is to let Pennington be a starter somewhere else. But, consider me a big fan of the team who gives Penny the reigns next year.
I do not think it is close. Thigpen can run our entire offense, Pat White can hand off the ball in the Wildcat until someone heals up enough to take his place.
i think we have gotten everything we need out of Pennington, and don't see him coming back - especially to be a back-up .... will someone take a chance on him if he is healthy - probably .... look what he did here Henne is better served by not having CP around next year. he has seen listened and learned from him - now he needs to make his own way. Henne is a different type of QB, and i would rather he spend this next offseason with Marino vice CP, albeit, the main thing he needs to learn this next year is touch ....... other than that, he is right on track - and we just don't need CP around anymore just say thank you very much for his 2 years and move on ....
yup thigpen can actually complete passes im yet to see anything from pat white that shows me the guy can throw the football at this level i feel more comfortable with thigpen being the #2 knowing he has the game experience, is quite mobile and has the ability to complete a pass
