I was thinking the same thing. It was bound to happen. No one respected his passing and the defense was always going to try to knock him out. He has very small hands and will never be a WR.

I never understood the people who said that all he ever had to do was a QB slide. You can't slide if a defender is close to yuou.

He can throw a football with those same hands but can't catch it?

I have to stop you right there. You can't judge that off of one game.

I still can't for the life of me figure out why they put pat white in instead of Thigpen. Maybe they felt White earned some playing time and that he was more comfortable with the offense? Maybe he had more reps?

As soon as word came on the cbs broadcast that henne was hurt my first reaction was, why isn't Thigpen playing? He's much more experienced than white. And especially after two series where we basically had no passing game against one of the most blitz happy aggresive d's in the league.

I don't blame the injury on the staff, i blame them playing white in the first place when they did have a viable passing qb ready to go in.

What I am talking about is this team, at the moment I typed that, was down 24-10 with its 3rd QB seeing action and we just created a fumble following 2 TD drives with said 3rd QB, and now we were sitting in FG range down only 3pts 24-27.....that is ZERO quit.

Sadly, INT was the outcome.....I stand by my eyes....we didn't cave - compared to many other NFL teams I watched all season....we were outplayed but depth aside not equating what it was asked to replace, I am proud of this squad.:hi5:

this season was case of tougher sched injuries creating a situ where we didnt have the horses that allowed us to be able to dominate 60 min.

    fact 1
we dont have a goto count on big play rec. Bess and Cam are great 2 n 3, Ginn needs a paycut but at right $, a flyer that stretches the field. but we need the Boldin/Fitz/moss/ward/to/white/ocho/wayne type receiver that will make those catches in clutch.

    fact 2
qb needed stability.penny cant go deep, Henne is young and growing and needed dev. he grew big this year. Thigpen will be the l/t backup,, imo. white is the slash qb. if penny comes back, we carry 4 qbs imo. they wont let thigpen walk imo

    fact 3
imo this true tho not true fact in that debate can be had. we have 0 starting calibur mlb on team , at least no playmaker.

    fact 4
    safety cant cover

all this meant was we had to gameplan during game, play the adj game based on what was happening.

we got behind alot because outalent was either lacking or pos wss injury depleted or inexp.

next year, yes next year wwe shall compete. i know the saying , but if you honestly look, signs are all pos that we will be strong, very strong team. remember we totally remade this team from 07. it takes time, were spoiled by initial success of div winners. brady injury, face it, helped greatly w/ that. we did compete this year, we didnt suck, that is the hhard part, if we were blown out, we would be upset but focused on future, we were close so the what ifs consume us. but look at where we were vs now, I like the future potential.

What proof do you have that he can throw a NFL football with his small hands? His passing stats? Size does matter.

That is why Matt Stafford can run and hold a NFL football like it is one of those toy nerf ones. His hands are HUGE.

It is like in basketball, the bigger your hands the better you can handle it. I can palm a basketball but I've known guys that can wrap their hands around one (a little freaky really).

Some people point to Darren Sproles as another NFL player under 190 pounds but they forget that Sproles is 5'6" and his weight is not as spread out as White's is. NFL players do try to knock out other players.

To compare Sproles and White as runners is like comparing Mike Tyson to Michael Spinks.

Thigpen was asked how many reps did he get this week, the answer was zero.

It was a clean hit, that's just the way football is. Also, take a look at who was the last player to say something to him right before he left....it was Ike Taylor.

Well I doubt White's hands are nearly as big as say Jason Taylor, but I'd bet he throws a better football.

I understand you have this anti Pat White crusade, but that statement is ridiculous.

It's like this, LUG.....we have choices

We can just cut him and call it a total waste or possibly trade him for a late round pick.

We can try and justify a roster spot for him, while he he comes in for maybe 2 plays a game and runs some type of spread or option play, that rarely works and makes us question why we took Henne off the field.

We can keep him as the #3 QB and spend his remaining years in Miami, *****ing about what a waste of a 2nd round pick he was.

    Or.......

We can work with him at WR and try to find ways to get him the ball in space, where he is dangerous. An opportunity to make him the offensive play maker we needed when we spent the #44 over all on him.

He may be small but he's a gamer with a nose for the end zone.....personally I think he'd surpass every WR we currently have on the roster, within a year.

I'd sign Penny to be the 3rd and keep Thigpen as the #2. Sorry Pat, but you can't keep a roster just because you were a okay college player.

Well there's only two ways that could happen:

    1. He's cut......do you really think they will cut him a year after using the #44 over all pick on him?

    2. Trade......who is going to want him to play QB after watching him this season, even as a back up? If anything, someone might trade for him to develop as a WR, which would actually be a smart move. But since we're likely to only get a late round pick for him, why not just keep him and try to make him a much needed play maker ourselves?

it is obvious from what took place yesterday that pat white is not built to be a qb in the nfl
    its not his fault
it is the stubborness of the FO and the headcoach
they will do anything to justify that they didnt blow this pick
you would think after all this time they would have had the guy better prepared to go out there and at least give the illusion of someone that has a clue
as a dolphin fan it was embarrassing to see the team try to pull something like this off
it was especially sad to see it happen at the expense of pat white
can we now say the white experiment is over and we have all seen enough

Pat White's injury is on himself not the coaching staff, he was lost out there, Sparano said they called 6 passing plays for him and he decided to run on 4 out of those 6. God bless him and I am glad he's alright the kid has alot of heart but he brought that on himself. He's the one that said he didn't want to be drafted to play WR he wanted to be a QB. I think if any good comes of this he has now realized he's not fit to be a QB and perhaps is more open to working as a slot reciever or perhaps we can use him as a Randle El type of player, I think that would be a much better use for him than the wildcat.

Thats Very Hardy to watch especially for me

I dont care if you are a Fan of the White Pick or Not but man Pat White has some serious Stones..

He is a little Guy that Was Playing QuarterBack and Is not Afraid to take contact Unlike Some Players on our team...

As for What Happened White should Have Never been in the game in my Opinion Thigpen should Have Played and taken Over the rest of the game i saw the highlits thigpen did Ok...

Maybe they put in White because he has been a dolphin Longer and knows the offense better.. Maybe they want to Get him ready IDK.. But i Do hope White is Ok
