    This makes me wonder......

    WHO is on the outs?

since being demoted to the 2nd team..Chalmers has been aggressive and played very well.

Is Arroyo gone now after playing so well as a caretaker?

We traded Chris Quinn AND a future draft choice for nothing for a reason. I am almost sure that Rafer Alston signs here once he clears waivers. Back when he requested trade, we were his preferred destination. Riley didn't want to give up Dorell Wright or Daequan Cook in hopes that Skip would eventually be bought out, and he was. He's an instant upgrade over Arroyo and he'll hopefully help Chalmers develop as a PG because right now he's an undersized 2 guard to me. Rio is more effective in the line up with Wade or Arroyo running the point, and that's pretty obvious to me. The less Chalmers has the ball, the more effective he plays.

    G - Skip / Chalmers / Arroyo
    G - Wade / Cook / Chalmers
    F - Q / Wright / Cook / Jones / Diawara
    F - Beasley / Haslem
    C - O'Neal / Mags / Anthony

I will NEVER forget that performance by Skip at home vs. Dallas in 2003-2004, especially his game winning three at the buzzer that turned our season around.

I'll also never forget when he slapped a Pacers player in the ***** on an inbound pass and got ejected from Game 6 of the semi's. Was that Jonathon Bender?

Heat down 2 with 5 seconds left. Wade ties it. Wade then steals the ball from Jesus Shuttlesworth and dunks it for what should have been the win. BUT WAIT!!!!

Are you ****ing kidding me, Spo?

How do you draw up a defensive scheme that allows Rondo to tip in an inbound pass with 0.6 seconds to go to OT? Get the **** out of here. Epic failure win or lose this game.

I am officially off the Erick Spoelstra bandwagon. What a bum. HE DOES NOT LEARN FROM HIS MOTHER****ING MISTAKES.

He goes with the same exact line up from the 8 minute mark in the fourth quarter and carries it over to the entire OT period? This guy is a joker. Say all the positive things in the world about him... about his "genius"... but he's the worst coach in NBA history when it comes to rotations. Jesus Christ. I'm so sick and tired of it. We've got Q-Rich out there for this entire stretch and he's like 1/8! Chalmers is like 2/10! What the ****.

Beasley is struggling, sure, but let him play through his ****ing struggles if you want him to be a superstar. How do you sit Michael Beasley for the final 13 minutes of a back and forth game? And it's not like the other 5 aside from ONE is really lighting it up out there. EVERYONE ELSE is struggling... like Beasley. But he's the one who sits?

This is THE most disgusting loss I've witnessed as a Heat fan in a VERY long time. No K.G. 11 point lead with 6 minutes to go. Sheed fouls out at 2 minute mark. 2 point lead with 0.6 seconds to go. And an L?

Sorry for the language explosion guys but I'm tired of it now. If I'm Dwyane Wade I request a new coach or LEAVE.

Leave this summer, Wade. Leave. I will forgive you. Go to Chicago if they establish their coaching situation. I won't be mad at you.

How depressing would it be to build this team into a championship favorite over the summer only to be out coached by Doc Rivers or Phil Jackson in the Playoffs / Finals?

We should know it after what happened the year before Riley kicked Fat Stan out after he was embarrassed by Larry Brown.

WTF are you talking about HD?

We were up 2 points with .06 seconds left.

You overplay the corner passes to take away the catch and shoot THREE's (WHICH Q-RICH WAS DOING)

Pierce then looked at Ray Allen....HE WAS OVERPLAYED...NO PASS...HE LOOKED to teh CORNER....NOPE.

HE Then THREW A BACKDOOR LOB to RAJON RONDO for the TIE.....

Excuse me...that is EXACTLY What you call GREAT...no..sorry....SPECTACULAR Coaching.

I mean......SPO's defensive set forced them to throw a backdoor lob pass while missing the screens BTW....to their POINT GUARD...and you are upset with his coaching.

    let't get real.

Maybe Chalmers shouldn;'t allow that catch....how bout that?

but no...it is SPO's fault that a LOB pass ties the game when he designed his set to force them into a LOW PERCENTAGE play....WHICH is EXACTLY what they did.

You really gotta be kidding me.

and NO...I didn;t want Beasley anywhere near the court tonight when he was playing so bad and refusing to take Brian Scalabrini off the drible. Haslem outplayed him and was the only guy that could handle Sheed on the block.

SO let's recap....The Celtics were completely healthy minus Garnett.

SPO basically beats them in regulation with just Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem's 19 and 9.....and YOU are upset with his coaching.

give yourself a hand. You topped yourself this time.

BTW...if we play straight up and switch everything...which is the OPPOSITE of what we did...

they throw it to Ray Allen and he hits a Three to beat us and HD makes the exact same post.

want to talk about being outcoached?

Doc Rivers was not ready tonight for our Half press after a made free throw.

We have been doing that for half the season...and yet his team took 4 TO's in a row and 8 points off it to adjust to breaking it.

After you let Rajon Rondo beat you to the rim on a perfectly defended game ending play...what do you do?

    You throw an after-party.

After watching the play 5,000 times...it is clear who screwed it up.

We obviously blitzed 2, and 4 (Allen, Scalabrini) because 3 (Pierce) was inbounding.

JO made a great play to leave his man to deny Allen the ball and as he did that..he CALLED OUT the screen.

Now obviously...if we are blitzing 2 and 4..then we are dropping on 1 and 5 (Rondo, Big Baby)

except that Chalmers blitzes Rondo as well...he fails to hear the screen get called by JO and DOES NOT go UNDER...he goes OVER...and allows Rondo a run at the rim.

Chalmers defense has flat out sucked this year.

Did he really? Funny, because it looked to me like Wade beat the Celtics in regulation aside from a 0.6 second **** up. What is the most attempted play in the NBA in that situational inbound by the way? It's a lob at the rim. Duh. It happens almost every ****ing night. There should have been a second play at the rim. There always is and that is why aside from that Dwight Howard play last season, IT NEVER WORKS. Never. In that situation you must ALWAYS have someone with the ability to tip the ball away by the rim. ALWAYS. Option #1 or #2 will ALWAYS be a lob at the basket. That is common knowledge gained by watching an entire season unfold with situations like this.

I don't care to read any of the other crap... it's always there from you when Spo blows a game, bro. It's like in your mind he can do no wrong. Have you ever criticized him? I don't think I've seen it, but in reality, he has screwed us over quite a bit this season. I can't believe you're defending his decision to go with the EXACT SAME LINE UP for the final 13-15 minutes of this ball game. Funny thing is this fan base is not in disbelief, because we're used to seeing the WRONG line up in the game at the WRONG times. Every close game we've been apart of... he's done it. Hey look, I love Q, but when his shot isn't on Dorell Wright should play more minutes. Dorell Wright had a strong showing in his 17 minutes last night... why the hell didn't he see the floor at all in those 13-15 minutes? Q wasn't doing anything productive out there.

Funny how you defend Spo's decision to completely go away with Beasley, then you go onto criticize Chalmers' "crap" defense as the reason why the lob even had a shot. But in that sense, why is he in the game? Why not stick Wade on Rondo (where that play has NO CHANCE OF HAPPENING) and bring in Dorell Wright?

MAKE ADJUSTMENTS FOR ONCE IN YOUR ****ING CAREER, SPO. I ask no more of you.

Why was he in the game? I'm not blaming Chalmers for not being able to keep up with Rondo. 95% of the starting point guards in this league (if not more) probably don't stand tall with Rondo on that play. That's why head coaches make adjustments. You drop Wade back at the 1 and bring in Dorell Wright for Chalmers. It's that simple. Dwyane Wade does not get beat there. No chance in hell. Fear the catch and shoot by Ray Allen? Cool. What's the difference in Wade, Wright, or Q defending a CATCH AND SHOOT situation with 0.6 seconds remaining? Seriously. Hell, I'd rather have the 6'10 guy in there to get a hand in their faces if need be. Rondo all along was the only option for the lob. That was obvious. WADE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON HIM. That's all on Spo. 110%

The only chance we have at winning a close game is Dwyane Wade saving the day or the other team completely blowing it. Forget about making adjustments to put your team in position to simply execute. We don't do that. Haven't since Pat Riley. Hey, at least we got the opportunity to witness it last night with Doc, though! No Kevin Garnett. No Rasheed Wallace in the last few minutes of regulation + OT. Paul Pierce's first game back from injury after missing the previous five. On the road. Facing a 44 point effort from Dwyane Wade. He still finds a way to put his team in position to win the game. Hats off, Doc. You're a real head coach.

Might come back from this Western slide... sliding... under .500. At best, maybe 19-19. That's pathetic because we've lost a ton of games that we had in the bag. Every team loses games they should have, but I've never seen a team lose this many like that in less than half a season. Mass underachievement if the Heat go into the break at or below .500, but they've got a decent shot to. Geez... Why can't this team ever seem to go on one of those 7-10 game winning streaks and break away from that miserable pack of horrendous Eastern Conference teams that WILL make the playoffs (as doormats to BOS, CLE, & ORL) behind us?

    Yeah...put Wade on Rondo.....

then WHO on Allen? Q? (he was guarding the inbounds on Pierce)

so then the pass gets made to Allen who hits a 3...and you make the same exact post you made.

The play was defended perfectly except that Chalmers went over and that allowed Rondo to get to the basket.

You are wrong. period. there is no wiggle room on this or debate.

to blame SPO for this loss is beyond stupid.

Yeah...helluva coach...his team shot 53% and the Heat shot 40% (SPO's fault they shot that) and he beats them in Overtime.

kinda a run of the mill victory.

The Heat is winless when they allow 50% shooting. yet they almost beat the Celtics. SPO's fault.

What was obvious was that the play was a double screen for Allen and we killed with SPO'S COACHING. They went to option #2 and Chalmers forgot defense 101.

Pat Riley went with an intact lineup in Game 5 of the Finals in 06' for the last 11 minutes.

What was the result? Oh yeah..we won.

    had we lost....

"Damn IT! WHY didn;t we bring in ____________ and __________...Riley SUCKS!"

WHO were you going to bring in?

That was the best lineup for that time. Beasley was hopeless in the game. Dorrell Wright is weak on runnign through screens and any switch is going to kill him in that instance.

Unfortunately, Chalmers is our best option at that time to defend Rondo. Wade was on Allen.

There was no other way to go. NONE. Dorrell on Rondo? LOL! yeah..Rondo then catches the ball with more space (unless he remembers how to defend the play) and finishes the same way.

Um, probably because that line up was actually working... I mean, did you watch both of those games? That Dallas game was back and forth, back and forth if I recall. The line up in was the only line up that even worked for us in that game. Last night, that line up gave up an 11 point lead. It turned a 7 point lead with 4 minutes left into a 2 point deficit with 2 minutes left. And he not only sticks with it for the remainder of regulation (Wade saving), but he goes with the line up the entire duration of OT as well? Sickening.

Hell, I didn't have a legit problem with J.O. at center, Haslem at the four, and Wade in at one of the guard spots. I had a problem with BOTH Chalmers and Q on the floor; Q's shot wasn't falling and he kept shooting yet was still doing an alright job on defense. Rio's shot wasn't following and he was doing a horrendous job on defense. MAKE A ****ING CHANGE. Drop Wade and Q down and bring in Dorell. It's THAT simple. ONE substitution alone wins that game. I genuinely believe that.

Never did I suggest Dorell on Rondo, are you kidding me?

Read what I posted... Wade on Rondo, Q or Dorell on Ray Allen, Q or Dorell on Pierce. Not that difficult.

I'll say it again: Wade on Rondo, Dorell guarding the inbound, Q on Ray Allen. J.O. and Haslem assume their obvious rolls. Simple. Ray Allen doesn't spring free and Wade knocks away the inbound ally pass IF it's even attempted.

And yeah, because I surely blamed Spo for Kobe hitting the shot he hit.

The only play in the playbook is an isolation at the top of the key for Dwyane Wade. You've also got Mario Chalmers on the floor for the majority of the game being killed by Rondo every possession for layups.

I'm not arguing the fact that Chalmers got beat on that play. That's Rajon Rondo. Of course he's going to get beat. I know that. You know that. Rondo knows that. Chalmers knows it himself. Doc knows that. Spo? Clueless.

Like I said, in that situation... your quickest / fastest defender needs to be on Rondo. That is Wade. Any other athletic player is capable of putting a hand in the face of Ray Allen and Paul Pierce because that is all they're going to get.

I don't read every post made in this thread especially when I'm not engaged in the conversation at hand, but I've honestly never seen you criticize Spo in this thread. Like I said, not that I've read every single post you've made in here... Never seen it, though. Whenever someone criticizes Spo, whether obviously right or questionably wrong, you're usually the first to jump to his defense.

And you think I am overreacting? Shoot, there is an entire 9 page thread on what I'd consider mostly knowledgeable Heat fans calling for Spo to be fired. I have never called for his head in that manner before, and I'm still not. He's young and inexperienced... he just hasn't shown me that he's a keeper. Hasn't proven not to be yet either. It's just not looking promising because he's making the same mistakes over and over again. I know that Spo is a genius and a master of the tape. That is why I was calling for him before anyone on this site (well, the old site) ever even mentioned his name. Difference between having what it takes and actually executing, though. That's my stance.

    http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=972835

And trust me... those are smart basketball minds for the most part. I used to post on there before I was banned for defending Dwyane Wade on the general board. Random poster called him the n-bomb and I told the guy to suck a you know what and called him a *****. Both of us get banned. Cool, huh?

Yeah...put Dorrell on Allen who runs screens.

    Question.

have you EVER...EVER seen Dorrell Wright guard a guy running off screens? EVER?

Anyway...last I checked...YOU and every one of those "experts" on Real GM picked the Heat to be a 5th seed.

    THAT is the Expectation.

NOBODY thinks they are better than the top 4.

Yet they are in the 5th spot. So nothing has changed. Expectations are being met. Spo is doing the Job that is expected.

Seriously...you bring in Phil Jackson in here to coach this team....Do they get the 4th seed? NO.

    So what is the difference?

    Great Coaching by SPO.

Or does he get no credit when they win and gets all the blame when they lose?

Rafer Alston was great. a good defender at the #1 spot. smart. Speed. Crazy enough to chuck up kill shots. They played well.

That is one big win. The Suns are deadly at home...and we kinda dominated them for long stretches.
