Absolutely, but I would bet cold beer the Donkeys wouldn't touch that for anything. We would have to throw in a 3rd and 5th or more.

How 'bout Ginn & Turner for Marshall & Royal straight up? I understand McDaniel likes to deactivate big WR's for big games. Well, Turner's used to it. :wink2:

The Denver boards have a split about Royal too it seems, obviously not as bad as the one here on Ginn... but nonetheless. Some people feel that Royal is given opportunities and just not taking them while others feel that Orton locks onto Marshall too much and doesn't give Royal much of a chance.

I don't watch enough of their games to make a decision myself, but it sounds to me like it's probably somewhere in the middle.

Sorta sounds like excuses for Royal, same thing we do for Ginn. He has his own excuses and it isn't injury

Maybe they didn't use Ginn more to spread the defense because they just don't have the confidence in Ginn's play. Ginn may eventually become a good receiver but to this point he just has not proven his worth to the team. I hope our wait to see Ginn's improvement that we all want to see doesn't drag out like our wait for Jason Allen to show his improvement has.

I don't know what to think about Ginn anymore. He has always been a hard worker and I can honestly see him working his tail off this offseason and winding up bouncing back and having a solid 2010. Will he get a chance here though? Like him or not, if he is on our roster when camp opens he's going to be that player that everyone watches to see how he does.

Personally, I would like to give him another chance here. He is a threat when he's on the field and if he can get open downfield he'll be dangerous. Could be a major weapon.

    We shall see.

yeah i never got the feeling he was dogging it like i did with chambers. who knows. 2010 should be his last chance in Miami. I will be rooting for him. There's something I like about him. he's turned into a little brother that you protecct from the bullies in the neighborhood  Still he's gotta start producing. he needs at least 800 yds receiving next year. I think he can do it. I think he's like Tony Martin, Tim Brown, etc, a late bloomer.

Even if we get one or two new receivers, I think we keep him. I dont think we're going to find a sub 4.4 receiver available so we'll probably just get a big body and maybe a slot guy. Figure Camarillo is defintely gone and if we get a slot guy then Bess is probably gone

I also wouldnt write off Pat Turner yet. Lots of rookies have problems their first year with beating the jam. If he learns how to do it his second year he could bring alot

You are nuts if you think Bess is going anywhere  He's the best reciever we've got. I guarantee all three Camarillo, Ginn and Hartline would be gone before Bess.

i think hartline is looking like the best of the bunch. bess put the ball on the carpet too much this year plus you time his 40 yd dash with a calendar. if we get a slot guy who can run a 4.4 and shows he belongs in training camp i think we would cut bess

Hartline has been a blessing. The dude can just play and does everything well. Hands, speed, route running, athletic ability are all solid. What a steal he was.

I disagree about Bess though. He's the perfect slot guy and comes up big on 3rd downs. Great hands, great in space. I don't see why we would cut him. Way to valuable IMO.

A faster Bess would be a better slot guy than Bess himself is, so I disagree with Bess being the perfect slot guy.

Didn't say he wasn't fast enough, just disagree with him being perfect. He's definitely upgradeable to some degree, he's just not 1st on the list of guys you're looking to upgrade/replace.

he's definitely producing but if we get Golden Tate and determine his best fit is slot are we going to keep Bess? No he's gone in an instant. it all depends on who we draft or pick up in FA. As Stitches said, he's definitely not the number one guy to upgrade but there is room for improvement there and we're at the point in the rebuilding process where decent players are going to start getting cut to be replaced with playmakers

While probably true (depending how you want to look at it), it doesn't change that Bess would be a better slot WR if he were faster.

Perhaps if he retired he could go play in the Lingerie Football League. Oh no, wait, they allow hitting in that too. Forget it.

I know. Not a constructive comment. I'm just truly embarassed that we allow someone wearing our colors to act like a coward on the field. I'm proud of this team and he is an embarassment imo, speed or no speed.

    I can't stomach it anymore.

    -sigh-

I know we Ginn bashers (I used to be very pro-Ginn) become repetitive. I guess we're just frustrated. Maybe that's something *I* can work on in the offseason. lol.

*We* don't allow it though. The fan base plays pretty much zero part in whether he's on the team or not, or whether he "plays like a football player" or "plays like a coward.". I'm proud of this team as well, despite knowing what it is, and what it isn't. I won't be embarrassed about something I have 0 control over, especially when the people in charge don't voice a dissenting opinion on the way he "looks" or "acts" with the ball in his hands. But that's just me. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and it is just as valid as anyone else's. (In this instance :shifty: )

To help with the stomach issues I would suggest Pepto Bismol, but the generic brands will work just as well, and it'll save you a few bucks. :wink2:

He is not the only dolphin to be scared of contact. Ever watch Madison try to tackle? The fits he gave me with his pathetic arm tackling, put your shoulder in and wrap the player up. But wait, he thinks Ted Ginn is soft, well he should look in the mirror also. Was he a good cover corner for us? Yes. Was he a good tackler? No. Did he just arm tackle instead of being physical? Yes.

Sean Smith avoids contact more than Ginn - and Ginn is actually SUPPOSED to avoid contact.

It is magnified with certain players because of their expectations and draft status.

For example - Ginn went up over a defender and came down hard with the ball against Houston and it hasn't even been mentioned on this board. We are so divided on this topic we just speak in generalities and no one is going to change the opinion they came here with.

It is going to be a long offseason of Ginn discussions haha. He had a horrible stretch of games in the middle of the season, if he remains on the team lets hope he looks like the Ginn from the last few games and not the first few.

When Henne took over for the injured Pennington a report
from the Herald came out and said that,"Bess,Cammy, and Hartline were all taking extra snaps AFTER practice with Henne
nothing was mentioned about Ginn doing any extra work with Henne and the other wide receivers

That sentence spoke wonders about Ted Ginn

Two of the best WR's ever that "avoided contact" were/are Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. You hardly ever saw Harrison take a hit and Wayne learned from the best. The HUGE difference is, these guys still got/get YAC and produce above and beyond when called upon.

I know....easy to do so when Manning is your QB. Still...

Agreed Adam...too much talent has been seen to let it go now. He certainly needs work, but he's not as bad as some here seem to think. And the going out of bounds thing is way, way, way overblown. That was a long time ago and in a galaxy far far away. As much as I am disappointed in his progress this season (meaning I thought we'd see more), he's not hopeless.

While I agree that we shouldn;t worry about things beyond our control, *everthing* to do with the Dolphins, from their drafting to their performance on the field, is beyond our control as fans but we still all decide to care about these things. I guess that's what being a fan is: deciding to care about something you actually have no control over.

I think I'm gonna need extra strength "Rite-Aid" generic Stomach Anti-acid. Or is it Ant-Acid? That sounds like something designed to burn ants.
