Isn't that usually their only move? wouldn't it say more if you were knocked out by the littlest kid?
so if a receiver like Mark Duper were to say that Ginn should continue to run out of bounds since thats why they're there, how would you view that statement?
That he was being kind? Duper did say Ginn ran poor routes.....and offered him help. Dupe was the king of YAC, not ducking out of bounds.
You're probably right, I was always the guy picking on the smaller kids so I never really knew thier angle. If he can start brining down INT's, shutting out receivers I'm happy with that. I would have to know the perspective on the statement. What I know of Duper wouldn't lead me to believe that he wouldn't qualify that statement. I wish Ginn had taken him up on it.
duper said that ginn still needs work on his routes and his hands but he had zero problem with ginn running out of bounds which to me pretty much sums up ginn to a tee heading into next season. he also said ginn should have been targeted deep alot more. Also said it would be foolish for the Dolphins to give up on Ginn at this stage Figures that Duper had the best insight into Ginn
Again, I loved Madison here but he was anything but respectful when he left. http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_football_dolphins/2006/10/sam_madison_sti.html Thats dissing your team mates and your coaches. Not much else except the owner and the fans.
No it wasn't. I probably agree with him but he still threw them under the bus. Funny we shot up to #5 in pass defense after he left though. No point there, just funny
Thank you so very much! While I don't want to be disrespectful to Sam Madison, the Dolphin, for him to call out Ted Ginn for not being phyical is just to much imho. Imho Sam could use a little of his own words in his playing; very good at talking the talk but not so much in walking the walk!
Without Ted Ginn, the Jets would have swept us; don't say he has given the team absolutely nothing because that statement is simply not true. Maybe has not given the team not as much as expectations from the fanbase asked for, but to say he's given the team nothing is a slap in the face. As far as Madison's two cents... this is just another person's opinion, I don't see why we have to say that it should garner so much more weight than any of ours. Last I checked, Sam Madison wasn't being called to hold a front office job for a reason... his opinion means as much to me as Mark Dupers... just another voice to hear and make the days pass. I also dislike how we are treating only stories with one account as facts. For example, it was said that Ginn declined help from Mark Duper... Maybe our coaching staff didn't like the idea of Ginn working with Duper? I mean, they don't like injured players on the sidelines during games... I don't see how this isn't reasonable. It's clear that they are not a fan of distractions and even more voices in their players' heads... why would they want one more voice coaching Ginn in Mark Duper?
Way to take my text out of context... in that particular game, with the bad field and Cleo Lemon, what did you expect? Ginn had good quarterbacks the past two years in Pennington and Henne. I never said the kid was an all star or even a good starter for that matter, but some of you guys always keep acting as if that's what I'm saying.
Not really. It is more like the smallest kid in the school who runs away from every fight calling you a coward for running away from a fight. Or someone who runs a Dog Fighting operation telling you not to eat meat because it is cruel to animals.
I don't like the fact that Ginn runs out of bounds and avoids contact, but I will point out a famous WR that did the same (Marvin Harrison). I all boils down to production. If Ginn produces, than people will not have a problem with it, if he doesn't, he will get attacked by about it.
you give credit because he was involved and deserves credit. Not because someone else also deserves credit.
How many people actually read or listened to Sam's interview? seriously? He didn't attack anyone. He stated something that is readily obvious to all of us, and cited a specific example from his game experience in 2007. Madison is saying he could jam Ginn so that's what he did, and the rest of the DB's do the same. This is truth, not mud-slinging. The "tough" conversation is immaterial, because it isn't a "who's tougher" competition. You don't need to be John Cena to observe that Ginn ducks out of bounds and falls to the ground after every reception. Madison made an accurate statement. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean Madison is tough, not tough, has room to talk, or anything along those lines. What does matter is that his heart is still with this team and he cares enough about the Dolphins to continue maintaining an interest & following the teams' progress. Now that is something I can appreciate.
he doesn't duck down or jump out of bounds on every play first of all. second it is being used to show ginn is soft, therefore does sam madison have a right to say such a thing is material. if it wasn't being shown as proof of such then I would agree with you but it is not just about what was said but what it is being used to prove. I won't pretend that ginn is a bad ***, nor will I say sam madison is wrong in how they approach defending him. I will say though if one uses to wish use this as proof of ginn being a *****, the extreme opposite of being tough, then people have every right to ask "why is it all of a sudden sam madison is the authority on toughness".
And who's to say an internet forum poster like yourself is the authority of people's opinions? Sam Madison played in the NFL and you did not. It's no secret Ginn is a bit on the timid side once he catches the ball so why are you trying to stir something up?
I never said I was. But by that logic everyone who has an opinion on here about ginn is wrong except for duper and madison. And im trying to stir nothing up. In fact I admit hes not a bad ***. Not sure what you are reading.
I never understood why the ducking out of bounds or shying from contact is such a big deal. It isn't a boxing match, it is a football game. If Ted can figure it out next year and we can make the bombs and big plays a consistent part of our game - I don't care if he never takes a hit. I'd rather win games than win some imaginary tough guy competition. If Ginn can be consistent in making the big plays he has shown the ability to create - I don't care if he never gets tackled again.
I'm glad *somebody* has the balls to be completely honest. Hey Sammy, you trying ta get a gig on TV or something? lol.
