I have some questions that I hope you guys can help me with. I asked in another thread, but so far, no answers.

Do you think there is any possibility that bp would actually consider getting rid of Tony?

Since JT and JP had to be the motivators on both sides of the ball, Is Chad H. going to be a leader, in your opinions? Or is it to early to tell.

When does the firings start? Now, in Feb., when? I hate not knowing who'll be here.

Which guys do you really think will be let go and who will we keep?
Please don't tell me JT will go---please.

What do you think about Ronnie and Ricky, are they safe?

I'm sure I'll think of more, but this is what I remembered I wanted to ask for now.

    Thanks guys.

Guess I'll step up to bat first.

    1. I'd have to say no. Sparano is the guy that Parcells and Ireland picked - and I think he's proven to be a good coach. One of our interns at work raised this the other day - what team, besides Miami, could lose their starting QB, RB, NT, CB for the season, as well as their starting C for a few games and still remain in the hunt? We really couldn't think of one, and Miami was still mathematically alive until the 4th quarter against the Steelers. I'll say Tony is safe; now Henning and maybe Pasqualoni, that's a different story.

    2. I think Chad Henne is more of a quite, lead-by-example type than an in your face guy like Joey Porter. I do remember in a lot of player interviews all the players seem impressed with his poise. I think in time he'll be a leader a more vocal leader, but I'm fine with where he's at for only having started 13 games in his pro career.

    3. I'd assume they could happen at any time given what's happend with Buffalo's staff, Jim Zorn in Washington, etc. I know Sparano said in his end of year presser that this week was all about reviewing every aspect of the team from coaching on down through all 53 guys on the roster. I'd suspect a move could be made as early as next week...just a guess honestly.

    4. Guys I think may go: Joey Porter, Akin Ayodele, Reggie Torbor, Charlie Anderson, Ted Ginn, Gibril Wilson or Yeremiah Bell, are a few of the bigger names that I think could be on the chopping block. It wouldn't surprise me if a guy like Phillip Merling or Tyler Thigpen was used as trade bait.

As for JT, he only signed a 1-year deal this past year so he's a free agent. IMO, if he wants to play in Miami, they can work something out. Personally I'd like to see him brought back, let him cut weight and play weakside to replace Joey Porter. I don't know what I'd do if he ended up in a Patriots uniform.

    5. I think Ricky is safe for sure, though I'd expect him to stay true to his word and retire after the 2010 season. I think if there's no CBA, they might offer Ronnie a similar contract to what Crowder got prior to this year - and I hope he takes it. Personally, if we could re-sign Ronnie and draft Mark Ingram in 2011, I'd be happy as a clam.

Pretty much agree with that except for #2. Henne is cool and collected but I remember reading at least in one specific come from behind game (Jets I think, final drive?) that he was in the huddle in total "we're going to destroy them" Leadership mode. I'll have to look it up, I think Smiley was the one who was talking about it.

Edit: While not what I was looking for, I did find this:

    Live from the Internet.
    No, I dont think so.
If BP wouldn't like the way Tony runs things..he would just leave himself. Thats the beauty of his situation. Even IF he isn't happy..im sure he will have a nice long talk with him...but I just dont see him getting rid Tony.
I think Joey is more of a rah-rah guy. He gets guys fired up.
From what i read and heard Tony is extremely pleased with JT from "learning" side of things. Meaning JT doesnt have the "been there, done that" attitude, he is a willing learner, and Tony said that rubs off on younger guys.
What i saw in the interviews is that everybody kept on repeating "natural leader" when they talk about Henne. They seem to love the guy, and he isnt afraid to call people out (like the time with Ronnie) lol
Well, not just firings. Some coaches will take coaching positions elswhere (like OLBs coach Reid took dcoordinator position in UVA) Dan Henning might retire and so on. From pure "firing" few of things..i dont know who they would fire.
There is ALOT of speculation on that.
Alot of people think that Joey might walk, because he isnt as productive as he was last year, recording nearly half of what he did last year, with half of them coming in two games, while he continues to struggle in the run game. Akin might go (he NEEDS to go) and Bell, because we have two strong safeties back there. Alot of people wanna see Ginn gone, and he might...but not until they find a replacement for him.
I think he will come back. He signed only a one year contract...but like you said, he is a leader, he loves this team and fans love him. He says he wants to stay in Miami, he isnt ready to retire...the bad news is that he DOES walk, we will most likely end up in new england :(
Ricky is for sure. He said next year will be his last year, so i dont see any issues there. He will be back, and hopefully will finish his career with a strong season. As for Ronnie, he stays if there is no CBA agreement by default, and he walks if there is one (unless we resign him of course)
    No problem
Im no expert, but i will gladly share my 2cents if anybody is willing to listen. :hi5:

    Hi Deb.

1} Tony's a good football coach, he communicates with his players, he demands work ethic, he can game plan, and he's emotional...He's safe my dear, its not even in question imo.

2} Chad Henne has great leadership qualities..Its just a matter of time....There were times on the field this year where he was the best player on it period...What were gonna see here in the near future is why Chad Henne should of been a first round draft pick....Leader....Jake Long having his back is'nt to shabby either....couple of damn prison guards Deb, lol.

3} I can see a David Lee promotion for henning, but thats about it, i think......if not, the firing's shall comenth at any time, sooner then later.

4} Fancy pants will be on the team Debster..

5} Henne, Ronnie and Ricky will be operating a multidimensional hybrid offense...The revolution will continue to evolve.

    Bye Deb.

What a player Mark ingram is, so decisively explosive, he's emmit smith on steroids...question for ya?, if the kid wins the national champioship and is MVP in the game, is there any chance he could change his mind and come out?..he is a back, and 300 more carries sucks when he could set his family up for life?

Joey Porter?....Is'nt part of the lure and reason you want Joey Porter on your team based on Passion and emotion and his ability to motivate players around him to raise their game??? I believe he failed in that dept this year and in doing so, became average.

Wish Ingram could come out DJ, but he's only a sophomore this year (scary right?) so he's got to stay one more season at 'Bama.

Porter IMO will always have that ability to inspire people, but I think that hamstring injury is far worse than we were led to believe as his play really declined from '08 to '09. I'd much rather re-sign JT, let him drop back to his normal playing weight (I read he was around 260lbs this year and routinely played at 240-245 under Saban when he was DPOY) and let JT play the weakside and groom Cameron Wake. I think the ILB and SOLB positions will be addressed in free agency and the draft.

Yeah, your linebacker situation is how I have been wanting our situation to go down.. for me,doublin up on two major need units, with two vehicles {draft/free agency}, and try to get at least 4 players using that philosophy, with all being close to first round grade..

Somethin like Dansby/ Brandon Graham/ and Boldin/ Gresham..

Just throwin those names out there, but somethin along those lines. I think the weaknesses of the two units are so extreme that deviation is not in my vocabulary unless a special present falls in our lap.

I believe Henne is going to be fine he will be a leader.

Jason Taylor brings to much to the team for the price he asks for i think he will be back. He prefers to be a Dolphin and he is worth it.

When Mike Maser was replaced by Dave DeGugliemo as offensive line coach last year, it was 11 days after their final game (playoffs vs. Baltimore). If changes in staff are in the works, look closely to the middle of next week for any possible news.
