Nobody wants to here this but i do not see a sweep next year against the jets.I know we swept them but they are better than us in almost every phase of the game and revis gives them a huge advantage as he just takes your best player away in th passing game every week.
We better make some good moves in the off season or the jets are going to win the afc east.

Tha Fact that the Jets won today means nothing. In fact I hate them even more since they cried foul and sad the wildcat was a scheme and only crappy teams use it basically

However in this game they used it like crazy. FU Jets and your fans.. Had Miami snuck in there we would have won that game as well. Next Year we will be better and mark my words we won't place behind them again next year..

Tony and company know year 3 is when you need to show that you got talent.. No one gets 5-6 years to build a team anymore we go 8-8 again next year some Butts are on the fire..

8-8 would be a one game improvement over our record this season so technically it would be an improvement :wink2:

    Yeah, they're better than us...

You don't lose twice to a team you're better than. Period. The difference between the Dolphins and Jets is that the Dolphins suffered a million key injuries and the Jets did not. Ronnie Brown/Ricky Williams > Shonne Green/Thomas Jones but that goes away when Ronnie hits the IR. Henne is also better than Hot Dog, that also goes away when we lose the back that helped us shield Henne this season. Hot Dog didn't win a single game for them with his arm. Something Henne did do for us. The Jets have a better D... for now.

Miami will likely sweep the Frauds again next season and will win the East. Mark my words.

What does them winning have to do with 2010? We saw the dolphins go from 1 win to division title in one season, 2009 has little bearing on 2010. If anything it means the Jets get worse draft picks and cant make many moves in Free Agency. They will have to get past Philip Rivers and Manning on the road to get to the super bowl. If they manage that then props to them.

A lot can change year to year. Always does. The Jets were more talented than us the past several years. Yet we're only a Brett Favre luck shot from 2 straight sweeps. At any rate, they got two favorable games to get onto the playoffs, then beat the worst team in the playoffs. I'll give them credit, but I'll be impressed if they win next week.

The colts are going to destroy them i know this. My fear is the cba not being signed and not being able to sign free agents. Our defence sucks and we need to patch a lot of holes. The draft is not going to be enough to fill all of these holes. We need Ilbs, olbs,nt,wr and fs.What do the jets need thier offensive line is better, linebackers are better, secondary is better,I like henne over sanchez, and our DL.,rbs about equal.

The jets will get exposed by the Colts next week.

During the offseason, all the experts will pick them to win the AFC East. They will be the trendy pick. Their coach, team, and fans will talk a bunch of smack.

And then, the will go 6-10. Whenever the jets have heightened expectations, they choke big time. Every jet fan would readily admit it.

I feel like its a waste of Revis's time to even lock down one of our middle of the road receivers.
I honestly believe we have a bit of an advantage in that game planning department seeing that our offense revolves around no WR so having them shut out of the game is nothing unusual.

Do you really think draft position ensures the player will be great? It's not about draft position it's about knowing how to draft talent.

While you watch the Phins sign players, the Jets now have this to deal with.

The March deadline for a CBA is looming. The NFL is headed for an uncapped year.

first off, this is in the wrong forum. secondly, are you kidding me? lets see what the Jets do if they lost, on top of jenkins and leon, thomas jones, darrelle revis, mark sanchez, whoever their 2nd best TE(Baker?), and harris, mangold and faneca swapping inactive status' every other week down the stretch.

because thats the equivalent starters we lost. so what exactiy are you afraid of? our team was a shadow of itself by seasons end. we swept them for a reason. we were better.

and if thats not enough, we draft 12th, they'll draft 25th or so. and we have nearly double the picks they have. And with the final 8 rule, they won't have a Free Agency either, going into an uncapped year. they're gonna be putting the same average team out there.

this. the jests winning was the best thing that couldve happened. ideally, they'll win nextw eek too, but it aint gonna happen. they rode a soft schedule into the play-offs, and beat a weak team...and im thrilled by that.

Of all the things that concern me for next season the Jets are way way down that list. I am 100% certain that if Miami takes care of some of our deficiencies and we can come back healthy that we are more than able to sweep them again next season.

If they're smart they resign all the players they want to keep and front load the contracts so that they all get absorbed in the first year. I expect to see a lot of teams re work a lot of contracts.

    Listen.
I hate the jets more than anybody else. No secrets there.
    Im not in denial though.
They are a good football team. They run the ball, they play Defense.
Yes, they are one dimensional, because Sanchez is not ready to be a full time QB. I believe what they doing now is kinda good for us, hindering his development a bit. I dont understand how can anybody predict that we wont sweep them. They had the same D for since september. We swept them. Henne is 2-0 vs jests. Records dont matter in division games, look at Bills and us this year. Look at Pats and us, we always had their number. Jests seemed to have our number for a while, but looks like the tide is turning a little bit.
Lets be honest here. Do they get in to the playoffs if Colts dont lay down? Propably now (dont know how the tie braker with Houston works) but are they making most of their opportunity? Yes.
Regadless, we swept them. They propably wont be winning the superbowl, so no big deal. Sure they won a game, might even win another one. So? Mangini took them to the playoffs. Herm did too. They had a better season than we did, despite getting swept by us :D Im over it. Im ready for draft. Ready for free agency. Im not worried about the jets. Im worried about the Dolphins. Last time i checked, we were on a 3 games winning streak vs those guys. And until proven otherwise, we are a better team (at least head to head :P )

They cannot do that. Making the final eight in the playoffs just insured that fact. The "final eight rule" is exactly why I pointed out the two years of free agents. Read it again:

If you are suggesting they rework them this year........Well that's just not possible. I saw a site recently that had the Jets OVER the cap this year. I'm sure that was wrong but the fact that it was a Jets site tells me that they are at least near the cap.

We swept them this year, why should next year be any different? Jet's aren't going to the superbowl and now they aren't getting any better next year with no FA and only 4 draft picks so if we swept them this year it should be even easier to do so next year with more holes patched.

Does that rule mean they cant even sign their own FA's or URFA's? I mean once we hit what would be considered next year "cap wise" and there is "No Cap" why couldn't they re-sign their own players?

The Jest got a little lucky getting 2 teams down the stretch that were laying down for the playoffs, that and EVERY team that had to lose lost. Sometimes that happens. The Bengals were not a playoff quality team down the stretch so they got a nice first round matchup.

The Jest are playing great defense, running better than anyone in the league, lets not kid ourselves, they are a tough team right now. I think this board gets a little defensive and lives in denial a bit at times, we most certainly will have to deal with the Jest for the division title next year. Our division is going to be tough next year.

Sanchez played well today, he had a very rough stretch this year but at times he has played very well for a rookie, particularly for a rookie that came out as a sophmore. He has a quality Oline, a great running game, all he has to do is throw 20 or less times a game, not throw picks and they have a great chance to win games, he did that today. I actually like Sanchez as a pro, honestly he looks like a franchise Qb to me. Every rookie struggles for a good stretch, him and Henne are going to be interesting to watch for years. I like that both teams look good right now, it makes the rivalry much more interesting.

We do not need to justify ourselves to the Jets or their fans. In the schoolyard, if you kicked someone's a**in two fights, no one said that he was tougher than you because he won more fights against other people.

You are right i hate the jets but if you speak the truth on this board everybody gets upset. We swept the jets but lets face it take away ted ginn 2 tds returns (how the hell did that happen)and our offence did nothing that game. The jets defence dominated us we did not even have 200 yds of offence.
Give them credit for beating the bengals because i do not think we would have won that game.Hell we lost to the steelers and the bengals beat them twice not to mention our 3 game losing streak to end the season. We choked they got a break and took advantage of it and are heading too the 2nd round.I would kill to going too the 2nd round of the playoffs i am jealous and concerned for next year.We have major issues going into next year like replacing possibly 3 of 4 linebackers. That is our reality.

LOL... A lot of fiendly animosity for our hated rival...

I am in the minority here...

I am not predicting, mind you, but they have a really good D... and as long as the Offense does not commit costly TOs the Defense will keep them in it... even against the Colts or SD... they do have the best D in the league...

Their problem would be if they fall behind by a few scores, and put the ball on Sanchez' shoulders and mind... that could put a dent into the Jet's Play Offs...

If the Jets were matched up with Baltimore this weekend we'd all be talking about what frauds they are. I think some of you are overreacting. Next season Thomas Jones will be the same age Ricky is now. What do they have four picks this April in the draft? And they had three picks last April? And they could have FA restrictions because of this CBA situation. They are one or two key injuries away from being a bad team. How are they going to build quality depth with no draft picks? I'm not convinced Hot Dog can go into a game when the other team doesn't have to respect the run and make difficult reads and throws and win it. They call simple pass plays for him that any QB in the league could make. How good is their defense is Revis gets hurt?

Will the Jets be a good team? Likely. But I swear some of you make it sound like they're going to be the next AFC dynasty now. We weren't lucky to sweep them. We were better. All these other teams in the NFL can shut down Ted Ginn, why can't they? It's not luck. We made their defense look bad in the first game. They were taken out to the woodshed by Ronnie, Ricky, Henne, and even Ginn.
