    Al Groh? Romeo Crennel?

I personally hope for the latter.

Well if this is the case then henning should go too but i know he wont...he's too close of a 'buddy' with parcells. Parcells has done a tremendous amount of good for this organization but i feel that him being too close with a few people might prevent this organization from moving to the next level.

    I just saw this, wow!

Mike Zimmer??? The timing seems weird, and the Bengals just lost. he worked with Parcells also.

Mike Zimmer is a guy I wouldnt mind seeing here at all.

Crennel I would like to see as a coordinator, but god help us if that turns into Johnson/Wanny 2.0. Obviously Tony wont retire, but just the thought is urgh.

Wow, really wasn't expecting that. It's reassuring to know Parcells doesn't have a problem getting rid of his guys if they aren't performing. getting rid of him so fast makes you wonder if they are going after Romeo Crenell. Have heard several teams looking at RC for DC.

Groh would be good, but there is rumor in Atlanta that he may become the next DC for Georgia Tech? and now that Kirby Smart is stay in at Alabama, UGA may go after him as well.

I don't see how you turn down an NFL job for a college job.

I'm pretty sure if we want Groh as DC, we can have him. Would surprise me if he isn't the guy.

Groh's close to going to Georgia Tech as their DC supposedly according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

I'm hoping for Cinci's Zimmer since his contract is up.

    From Adam Schefter:

Dolphins fired defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni.

Scout.com's Adam Caplan reports that Miami has interest in Romeo Crennel as a possible successor. The Fins were a top-ten team against the run in 2008 -- Pasqualoni's first year on the job -- but fell to 18th this past season and his unit was never effective against the pass. The former Syracuse head coach may resurface on the Giants' staff. New York is in need of a defensive coordinator, and head coach Tom Coughlin is a Syracuse alumnus.

    ROMEO....ROMEO....ROMEO.....ROMEO.....ROMEO......Next hopefully is Henning!!!

This is the best news I have heard today since finding out I have a 1200 dollar escrow shortage on my mortgage WTF!!!! Nice job Tuna!!

I totally agree with you but he may have different preferences than you and I do. Kids may be easier to deal with for him than the pro's and he may like to recruit? Who knows. I am sure he could have gotten an NFL job before UVA, but he went there so he must like the college atmosphere.

Wow! Will Miami's staff still be coaching the South team at the Senior Bowl?

I wonder if Todd Bowles will get promoted to the D-Coordinator job.

they wouldn't fire someone before having secured a superior replacement
wouldn't be prudent  not on a Parcells team
they already have the guy, no use in second guessing
we'll know as always :hang:after the fact.

I honestly don't think Henning deserves to be fired. The guy lost his starting Qb 3 games in, Lost his starting running back what was it 9 games in? Had to rework the offense from wildcat to a more conventional offense all the while working with a Rookie QB and no deep threat reciever to stretch the field and he kept us in pretty much every game we played this year. I mean the guy is pretty innovative, everyone laughed at the wildcat when he first started using it now everyone in the NFL is using it.

Not even getting into the fact getting rid of Henning hurts Henne's progress as he basically will have to start over in a new system next year. I really think for Henning to get fired would require something drastically more wrong than anything he did this year.

you want to re-tool the defense and start over or something
this defense is not geared to run a 4-3

if you bring in a guy like Zimmer and run a hybrid
    i could see a little more 4-3
going to 4-3 full time would not be smart
    we have 3-4 personnell

They were looking for a replacement as early as last week, rumor has it (per PFT) Mike Zimmer the BEngals DCord who worked for Tuna in Dallas could be the guy.

Bengals season ends, DCP fired, makes a bit of sense.

Zimmer runs the 4-3, and he does it well.

    we won't !
not even if Friend GardenHead w/right
& Parcells himself has to fill the position of DefensiveCoordinator
we will continue to work out of the 3/4 as our basic defensive set
we've been building it for the last two years

Well, I guess there had to be accountability, but I blame the personnel. Unless he had a hand in selecting which FAs to sign and what positions to draft, I don't think our defensive collapses are mostly his responsibility. But I don't think we'll miss him either.

Disagree, especially if one considers JP/Ayodele maybe are looking for employment elsewhere soon, our strength is our depth at Dline which is the key to the 4-3.

Plus Cam Wake can play RDE...:shifty:

    Embrace change Brother.

Besides, with our Dline strength, we would need maybe 2 Lb's to run it, and that would free us up to draft offensive playmakers in the draft.

Wake can play RDE, Merling is a natural LDE, McD, Langford, Starks.

Our Lb's are just to old my man, it would take forever to draft the 2 or 3 Lb's we need and have them up to gamespeed.

This way, 1, maybe 2, Lb's, the rest of the draft on Bryant and Gresham.

yes and he ran a 4-3 in 2004 and transitioned to a 3-4 in 2005.

He does both. Seems like it would be a good fit he likes to run a hybrid style these day depending on personell

His first year, then in yr 2 Tuna went 6-10 and Zimmer switched to the 3-4 and the "D" was not as good.

BTW...Ain't no Romeo coming to Miami:

    At least not right now.
