I think its going to boil down to who they get to replace him. I'm I little worried it will be Al Groh. I know he has a history with Bill but when I look at his Def ranking in the NFL they really don't stand out as being all that. Well his one year with the Giants was very solid. they rest? Meh..

    Our options IMO:

Bowles - Promote him: He has been considered a bright young defensive mind and he had a few DC interviews last year IRRC

    Zimmer - a return to a 4-3 perhaps?

Groh: Former Parcells assosciate who knows LBs like the back of his hand. Depends on if he'll take a college job.

hope Al Groh is not the guy
i know he is buddies with parcells and the history with him
we dont need another one of those hires
henning is a parcells guy too and old
sparano better get his input because he is the head coach
lets not go backwards here

If PK's telling the truth, I would think so.

    Peter King on Twitter:

Clarifications: Seattle didn't offer Dungy team president job but clearly wanted him ... It was Tony Sparano who fired Pasqualoni in Miami.

who fired him is irrelevant really
sparano better have some input on the new DC
    parcells isnt coaching this team
    tony is the coach
id rather not see this be an old friend hire
it would be nice to see a real DC
instead of groh who is 65 and on the fence

I think its kind of relevant. I mean if Bill did it I would expect we would already have the replacement signed sealed and dilivered. If Tony did it it could have been spur of the moment, an argument or something. Who knows.

Rumors are Nick Saban may come back to be DC, and if Henning is fired Cam Cameron could become the new OC. Just what I heard. :couch:

Sparano might have been the one to do the deed but if anyone thinks Parcells and Ireland didn't sit down with him and in the end all decide togethor that he needed to be fired their just being foolish.

    ^
And I'd take Cam Cameron for OC anyday if he could come back.

More attention than you it seems, because Pasq's scheme was easily one of the most vanilla in the leagie with hardly any type of exotic blitzes at all. Not hard to see that I would of thought.

    Surprising.

    Like the move though.

Just hope the replacement is a new up and comer, not a retread.

I'm good with giving Bowles a shot. Sometimes flesh new blood is what's needed.

Wouldn't mind Zimmer and a switch back to the 4-3, though.

Personel wise we're totally geared for a 4-3,right now we have Taylor and Wake who are both natural DE's playing LB

Cody could be the best pure NT to enter the league since Casey Hampton. Had you been a Steelers fan the year they took him, would you have been bemoaning the pick?

The Steelers had already had their 3-4 system in place, but it took 4 yrs to do it, Hampton was simply plugged in at NT on a team that already had the ILB's and OLB's in place.

And a NT at #12 is a waste imho, unless we plan on drafting in the same neighborhood the next draft, one needs an impact playmaker when you draft that high, not a grunt.

Good......I wasn't a fan of Pasq. Now all they need to do is give Henning his pink slip and we're all set.

going from 3-4 to 4-3 is not like switching on and off a light switch
Taylor is old and wont make it through a full season playing full time
he slowed down dramatically this past season
Wake was a situational player for us last season
we have no idea if he can be a full time DE

Sure, trying a 1-6 "cloud" defense is innovative, and since we had a few extra LB's we should at least try it. But, as expected, when you rush 1 lineman you get no pressure allowing the QB extra time for recievers (or TE's) to get open against a glut of LB'S.

At times, I would've liked to see the defense be more vanilla than tricky.

I totally agree. All this talk of switching to a 4-3 is nothing but a pipe dream IMO, and something to pass the time until free agency opens.

It's not a matter of him simply trying it as it worked very well, nor was it a useless novelty. Nor was it the extent of what I'm talking about.

Cam Cameron first off isn't coming back, second off who wants him, he runs a run heavy offense, something to which Miami runs and it is anemic...Lastly the guy is a pu**y, do you guys not remember what a zoo it was in that 1-15 season, the players were running all over him, he had no control, Fergie had to hold somebody back from killing him on the plane...he is an embarrassment around here, and certainly in that locker room, he would get no respect.....he and his "genius" pick of John Beck can stay in Baltimore......

Former University of Virginia head coach Al Groh says he would "love" to coach on the Dolphins' staff in 2010.

"I've done it five times," Groh said of working with Fins VP of football operations Bill Parcells. "Some people would say that I'm nuts. Some people would say that I'm fortunate." Groh hinted that he has other offers on the table, and has been linked to the defensive coordinator vacancy at Georgia Tech.

Sorry guys forgot the source...it is from ESPN.....

Totally different, the CFL is professional football Sick, CUSA is simply part time kids still learning the game.

AS for Al Groh...hope not, his Defenses in NY were poor to average, he just is not that good a DC.
