VIA Twitter... ESPN's Heather Dinich reporting Al Groh will be defensive coordinator at Georgia Tech; also, Dolphins not expected to hire Keith Butler. http://twitter.com/Adam_Schefter
Todd Bowles the current secondary coach was mentioned in a video on the afc east blog... http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/9250/video-bills-dolphins-coaching-thoughts
If I was going to compare the job Bowles has done with our DBs and the job Butler has done with the Pittsburgh LBs, there is no comparison.
Here's the story from ESPN (on Groh): http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4828320 There's no mention in this about Butler as it's only a story on Groh. I'm still holding out hope on Butler.
there is time guys there is time.....alot of times these reports other than Schein, Shef, and LaConforta arent the most reliable.....Groh I believe....not so sure on Butler, I bet Sporano is pushing hard for Butler.....at least we know that it wont be a good ole boy like Henning....
my point exactly....thanks bro...good catch, stay alert guys, something should be coming within the next couple of days...
Former Viriginia coach Al Groh, who was thought to be the front-runner for the Dolphins defensive coordinator job, has reportedly decided to accept the same position with Georgia Tech. Groh was thought to be an option to replace Dean Pees in New England as well. Steelers' linebackers coach Keith Butler jumps to the front of the line in Miami, though Dolphins' secondary coach/assistant head coach Todd Bowles may also be in the mix. Butler is still very much around...
I new this would happen, were going to promote from within. Problem with that is that that Bowes learned from Pasquale So chances of a much more improved defense is not likely. We need to look elsewhere I feel.
me either i didnt want groh the fact that he turned us down is a real pisser though he went to a job as a DC for a college team after being a college head coach instead of taking the job as a DC with the Dolphins something stinks to me wtf is going on
Who ever said he was offered the DC job and turned it down? He was interviewed, that is all. To me, for him to take the GT job at this point means he felt he wasn't going to be Miami's first choice, so he took his next best option.
I wonder if we might be looking or know that someone in the playoffs now is going to shake free? This might be interviews for interviews sake and the real guy is still in the playoffs. I mean this team isn't reactionary they think things through and if they fired someone Im sure they have a plan instead of saying oh **** where screwed we fired our guys without knowing we will have someone.. Thats somethign the old regime would do, not this one..
