The way I've got my wants panning out is this.

Vikings beat NO. I'm tired of Who Dat. Who Dat? Vikes Dat.

    ok, moving on.

Either the Jets lose tonight or they beat the chargers and colts hard and heavy to make it to the superbowl.

    Here's why.

    Vikings / Jets super bowl.

Vikings defense shuts down the run causing Sanchize to throw the ball thus causing interceptions to be thrown. Peterson has best game in a long time. Runs all over Jets defense. Jets fans crushed = awesome. Favre wins superbowl, retires for good = awesome.

    where's the downside?

The downside is we have to listen to how Sanchez led the team to a SB as a rookie, and we have to listen to how Ryan took such a bad team (they weren't that bad) and turned them into SB contenders.

The downside is the Jets thinking they're the best for making it to the superbowl, even though they walked into the playoffs against backups.

Here's my scenario. Jets get crushed today. Crushed.

chargers vikes would work for me. both sets of fans deserve it. i was on the saints boards when they beat us and i dont know what happened to their fans but i found them to be unbelievably arrogant. for a team with their history i found it unacceptable. plus they banned me  go Vikes!

so the downside is just chatter then? i can deal with that.

like i said either they get crushed today or in the SB that's my hope. i'm thinking SB because getting there doesn't matter. ask the bills.

Well, theirs the difference between us. I can't stand the chatter. I guarantee you, Rex Ryan and the media will never shut up if they make it to the SB. This whole offseason will be about Rex and the Jets.

The FN Jets in the FN Super Bowl is the downside.

the bills were IN the superbowl 4 times in a row. they lost every single one of them.

advantage smack talk who? every non-bills fan on the planet. making the SB means nothing. no one remembers the losers (except the monumental bills teams of the early 90's)

    Ack! Ack I say.

That's all I need is a never ending cycle of Rex Ryan fat man love and Brett Favre crying on every t.v. show about how he feels about his personal redemption.

It would be a nightmare of epic scale for me to see that scenario.

What I'm hoping to see is a Colt / NO SB and to have the Colts win because if either part of your scenario comes true I will not watch any NFL coverage between the end of the superbowl until dolphins camp breaks in the summer.

How about if the Jets did make it, they'd be using our practice facilities for a week? Does that make a big enough of a downside for you??

My view is, the Saints have never won a damn thing. They used to be known as the 'Aints. Let 'em enjoy their success, it isn't something Saints fans are used to doing in New Orleans. And their community can really use the celebration.

    The Bills, that's who.
They beat the Dolphins enroute to everyone of those Super Bowls loses.
You telling me you'd rather lose in the AFC Championship or earlier than to lose in the Super Bowl.
Can't say I understand that logic.

yes, i would rather be known as a Championship round loser than a perennial superbowl loser. I'd rather win the big one at least once out of those 4 times i went. at least we didn't go 4 times and choke every single one.

do i like they ran us over on the way there? no, but at least they choked 4 years in a row. they're the reverse dynasty of a football team. if they could have strung together 12 more they would have a perfect record of losing super bowls.

    how's that sound?

what if i told you we'd advance to 4 superbowls and lose them all?

and i get it.. not a very popular idea. hell i don't even know any jets fans personally to rub this in over.. i just like the thought of them getting there and losing.

It makes me feel worse because I would rather have the best team in the AFC than the team that couldn't get past the team that got their asses kicked four years in a row.

Well so far I have been the kiss of death for all teams I pick to win. So far I'm 1-7 in my predictions on the playoffs (only the Cowboys beating the Eagles did I get right) so because of that and the fact I think the Jets have the perfect team to beat the Colts I will here predict that the Jets win the Super Bowl in Miami.

    :crapstrom:

I hate myself for saying it but I see that Jets D flustering Manning and the Jets offense running the ball enough and Sanchez throwing enough to sneak out the win next week. Then comes the Super Bowl where I see the Jets D just being too much for either the Vikings or Saints.

Yeah that's right I am drinking the poisoned Kool-Aid that is the Jets and predicting that in February hell freezes over when Rex Ryan wins a Super Bowl and he destroys buffets throughout Miami.

I can't believe I just picked the Jets to win the Super Bowl in Miami. :pity:

Well I am trying to curse the Jets anyway I can. My limited football knowledge has failed so far so hopefully picking the Jets follows that line.

To me I am saying that yes indeed the Jets are the best equipped team to win the SB right now and to kick extra dirt in our eyes they'll do it on the Fins home field.

Obviously I want the Colts to murder them and maybe me cursing them helps that.

i think it's about intent. i wanted 4 teams to lose today. 1 of them did (thanks dallas!). That was the only team i really "wanted" to lose...

I hate the thought of the Jets getting this far for various reasons. I hate seeing a division rival get this far...it sucks.

I get what you are saying though.

IMO it would be awesome to hear jets fans going on about a SB only to lose it down in MIA where they were swept twice already.

Nah I want Jet fans to get cocky only to have Manning rip them apart. I hope that happens but as I said before I don't think it will. However I have to say if there was one QB I thought could carve that Jet D up it would be Peyton Manning.

I really hope the Colts win this game.

ok wasn't thinking about it but the jets would be AFC champions for a year.

dunno how well that would sit even if they did get to the super bowl and lose.

Everything about this scenario is bad.

First I'm far more tired of Brett Favre than Who Dat. And mainly, I hate Favre. I dont want him to go out on top. I want him to retire after failing, miserably if I can have my way. The guy just wont g away, and he gets the perfect story book ending after all this? No thanks.

And I'm not going to hope/root/or want, the Jets of all teams to make the Super Bowl. It cant be guaranteed they'd lose. And even if they do lose, that's still one heck of a season. I'd rather not see the team I hate second only to New England do that well.

Talk about a matchup where I'd vehemently want both teams to lose. And since that cant happen, it's the worst matchup possible.

    Zero upside to this, none.
