I was a bit surprised to see JT at #1 on this list... sounds like a pretty awful opinion from a "writer" too, but thought I'd share anyways. The rest of the list is interesting too... Former fin Zach Thomas is at #2... http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AuAECVCBIKMXhwU6L25qXRWL2bYF?slug=packplayerswhoshouldreti&prov=tsn&type=lgns
Maybe Mike Florio should retire a lot of these player have a few good years left in them and why would Byron Leftwhich retire he could still be a second string or a starter maybe and Matt Jones is pretty good to
yeah, this seemed a bit ridiculous to me too. Figured it would get some chatting going on here about some of the junk in there about some of these guys though.
no kidding! the one thing I can agree with though is that JT may not be fully focused on football anymore as he once was. that is slightly disappointing.
Florio is an idiot. Sparano says he fine with JT doing the dancing gig. I heard he was also going to moonlight at Mangos during the week during the pre-season. http://www.mangostropicalcafe.com/
Why do scrubs like Mike Florio gets jobs like this? There are people on this board that deserve their stuff posted on Yahoo! before this guy.
The only thing that annoys me about JT going on that show is we're gonna have to hear about it from EVERY commentator that does a Phins game this year. Hopefully Gus Johnson will be sick of talking about it by week 3.
I found nothing wrong with what he said. Its not like he said JT sucks now. He even says he still has the physical tools to play. He just seems to care more about going Hollywood than playing football. He made legitimate arguements for the rest as well, although of course most of them wont retire. Leftwich and Jones are scrubs. It doesn't matter how young they are, they will never be good.
that seems to be Florio's whole point though for JT to retire. His heart is no longer in the game, so why bother? However, I believe he can still play at a high level, and... if he's focused on going "hollywood" on us. Then fine... but if he's planning on sticking around here, collecting a paycheck... he better still be focused on playing football at a damn high level. If thats the case, and he can do this show, and come out next year and still be a dominant player (if he's on our roster) then im fine with it.
Florio is about as bright as a dead lightbulb. I mean a few make sense like Brad Johnson and Troy Brown but how can he have a young guy like Ocho Cinco on there when there are many worse players. Just cause he and many others dont like his schtick; well thats just too bad.
That is a horrible list. Many of them make no sense whatsoever. He this guy trying to destroy his career with articles like this? Or is he simply underestimating his audience?
I'm getting real tired of these conditioning blurbs. If Florio could train for 5 hours a day with a world dance champion without throwing up, then maybe, maybe I'll even give him an ear.
One thing JT won't be come time for training camp is out of shape. I wouldn't be surprised if his dancing actually helps him perform better this year. Steve
Florio is the Harry Knowles of football. Who's Harry Knowles? This hamcake: Nobody who basically made up enough junk about movies online until people started actually feeding him insider information.
He's made his career by making outlandish statements and belittling and antagonizing others in the sports world. I enjoy reading his rumor mill but don't care for his holier than thou attitude.
I've never been one to buy into the "(insert media outlet here) hates us" crap that a lot of fans often spout, but I am starting to wonder about Florio. Lately he just seems to be grasping at practically any straw to do a little muckraking. I can see if we wants to put JT on that list. Fine. But putting him #1 over a bunch of other guys truly more deserving just smells of someone trying to use media influence to de-value a player's worth, especially if that player is reportedly on the trade market.
