Seems like a good tweak then, cause no way in hell USC deserves to be #1.

USC shows up for the big games, and they seem to match up better against UF, at least that is how I see it. The results of their season certainly should not have inherently keep them out of the argument for the NC. -

i love that the excuse for usc deserving to be in the championship is that it would be 'interesting' to see.
so would Florida vs. Mr. Thompson's third grade gym class. doesn't mean that Florida deserves to play with those kids..SICK likes this. -
Personally I think Ohio State got jobbed...
Our best player was out and our backup QB was playing at USC, and the officials screwed us vs Penn State.
How its not an Ohio State Oklahoma national title game is ludacris.

Do we HAVE to keep hearing about USC? They're the college version of the Patriots and Brett Favre. The national press will find ways to mention USC regardless of the topic. It's really getting tiring.
Florida and Oklahoma earned their ways into the BCS title game. USC did not. Period. -

Until the BCS adopts some sort of a "playoff system" we will always be arguing about who should be in and who should be out of the Title game.IMHO with all the money the current "bowl games system" generates the schools are in no big hurry to do away with it.
...sorry didn't mean to rant... -
OU's resume is as impressive, if not more impressive, than any team in college football and they're playing as well as anyone at the end of the year. -
...you're being specific....I was speaking in general... but even so would you want to know if Texas or USC could take down Florida or Alabama..ect........I just think it would be better to have a playoff system that's all...DonShula84 likes this. -

Should USC be in the BCS championship game? No, but its a matter of circumstance. Just like Utah. Their schedules just weren't strong enough to put them above Oklahoma and Florida. It has nothing to do with "earning" it.
I will say though, part of me hoped Oregon State would win the Pac-10. That way USC could prove itself against Texas. A win over Penn State, sadly, probably wouldn't garner much respect from the rest of the nation. -
-
Playing soft schedules should hurt you. It isnt USC's fault that the Pac10 sucks, but it cant be ignored either. However, the schedule isnt just a circumstance one has no control over in college football. I will give USC credit for not scheduling weak out of conference opponents (insert ND joke here...) but like I said, you cant ignore that OU went through the Big 12 and SC went through the Pac10. -
The only way to really settle these discussions is a playoff. -
Pete Carroll is a great recruiter and assistant coach finder. Maybe not so much a great college coach. Frankly, I wouldn't mind if he made his way to the last remaining AFC East team on the list because then we can finally have dibs on the top recruits in the area. -
USC did everything in its power to go to the national championship, except bet Oregon State. They scheduled Ohio State, Virginia, and Notre Dame as their non conference games. Not The Citadel. They even tried to schedule LSU, but Les Miles pussed out. The only game you could argue wasn't as strong as possible is Virginia, and considering how far out they schedule these games, and the fact that Les Miles is a *****, they did their best.
If Florida and Oklahoma went undefeated, I'd agree, they earned it over USC. The fact of the matter is, however, they all lost one game. They all made one mistake, and then proceeded to win out. The only difference was the Big 12 and the SEC played well, while the Pac-10 let USC down big time.
If USC had any control over this, things would be different. The fact of the matter is, they didn't. They gave themselves the hardest schedule they could and ended up with the same record as Florida and Texas. -

Crude my friend, very crude.
If Wood were alive now he would come to your door step and cold **** you twice, and once the police arrive and ask him why he blasted you twice he would tell them "because I couldnt crack him 3 times"!! -
Im not at all arguing with UF/OK BCS game but if your going to make some case for USC then imagine if you were a Longhorn fan, because they have a bigger gripe than anyone. -
"The 1978 game between Ohio State and Clemson where Buckeyes coach Woody Hayes lost his temper after a late game interception by Charlie Bauman. The play would seal the Tigers' 17-15 win over the Buckeyes, and Hayes punched Bauman on the sideline in front of a national television audience. Hayes was dismissed the next day by Ohio State's Board of Trustees".
My point was: "close" only counts in the game of Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. What ifs, are for fantasy.
In spite of that. Woody was a great coach! -
I think you failed to recognize my "Ohio State was robbed" post was to entertain some of our friends around here who insist Ohio State fans are idiots.
Honestly I wouldve rather went and played Georgia than have to play Texas. -
