eh you take it for what it is. the rest of the article was entertaining. and i would agree that a couple of the 72ers do get annoying when perfect season talk comes up. not shula though.

PMZQ, dolphindebby and late again like this.

Why should Shula root for the Patriots? He was a Dolphin's coach for 26 years. He should hate the Patriots.

They went undafeeted, they have the right to talk about themselves.

This is a tired argument.
There are one or two loudmouth 72 Fins (Mercury Morris) who ruin the legacy for the rest of them. But really, who cares. If people really think that they all get together to pop champagne, there's no hope for those people.
You never hear Griese, Csonka, Kiick, Manny Fernandez, Jim Mandich, Earl Morrall, etc. gloat about going undefeated. So Mercury Morris is obnoxious. He earned the right!!!Phinz420, Frumundah Finnatic, cdz12250 and 2 others like this. -
Also keep in mind, when a team gets to 10 or 11 and 0, the media seeks them out and starts asking questions. Of course they have something to say when asked.... They are rightfully proud of their accomplishment and should be. If they were the ones making it a story you'd hear about it all year long, but you don't.
It's not like the members of that team hunt the media down for interviews, and the whole champagne toast when the last undefeated falls is something they do amongst themselves. They didn't advertise or brag, but the media made a big deal about the story.
PS And he's just mad cause he's a freakin Pats fan.... There's something completely wrong with an article about the biggest d-bags in sports with Shula's pic under it. Even if you don't like the 72 Fins, there are MUCH bigger jerks out there that should be on the list.dolphindebby, PMZQ, Frumundah Finnatic and 2 others like this. -
Ironic, the second name that came to mind when I saw the thread title was Tomalina Brady. Turdell Oldwins of course was first

My list of the 10 biggest Douche Bags (I'll limit this to NFL Players as to not stray too much) In reverse order with #1 being the biggest Douche:
10. Brandon Marshall - Had some off the field issues and runs his mouth way too much.
9. Plaxico Burress - Maybe he's a nice guy, but he's definitely a Douche.
8. Travis Henry - Anyone with that many kids (all different Moms) is a Douche.
7. Jay Cutler - Whining your way out of a city gets you this spot, Douche Bag.
6. Rodney Harrison - Technically not playing anymore, but still douche-y enough to make my list.
5. Jeremy Shockey - I liked him when he was at the U. But he is a total Douche.
4. Tom Brady - Nuff' said.
3. Chad Johnson - Ocho Cinco was funny for 5 minutes. Now it's just sad.
2. Brett Favre - His rise to douchiness has been meteoric over the last few seasons.
1. TO - No shocker here. Roger Clemens wishes he were this much of a Douche.
(Honorable mentions to: James Harrison, Matt Jones, Karl Paymah, Tatum Bell and Calvin Pace.)Mile High Fin, PMZQ, Vengeful Odin and 5 others like this. -
That's funny. Here's my top 10 douchebags in sports:
1. Tom Brady
2. Teddy Bruschi
3. Wes Welker
4. Bill Belichik
5. Robert Kraft
6. Matt Light
7. Randy Moss
8. Junior Seau
9. Rodney Harrison
10. Mike Vrabel (he'll need at least 5 seasons in KC to wash the Patriots stink off him.)Mile High Fin, Vengeful Odin, PENNSYLVANIADOLPHAN and 9 others like this. -
The media goes to the 72 Dolphins everytime someone approaches the record, not the other way around. How convenient of this Pats fan idiot to not mention that. Screw him. His media darling Patriots blew the best chance they'll ever get to match the perfect season. Shula being put in that list can just be written off as the Patriot crybaby selection. How dare someone have pride in one of their accomplishments? This guy is basing that entire pick off of his perception of Shula's giddiness during a football game. What a joke. Add the Patriots franchise and Bellicheat to the list. Where was Bellichick sulking and scurrying off the field after blowing it two years ago? That doesn't make you a douchebag? But being proud of a record does? God, are there any Pats fans out there that aren't stupid idiots?

Mercury Morris could follow me around all day and night jabbering nonstop about the Perfect Season and all I would do would be to buy him beers one after another to keep him going until we both passed out. You see, I'm still not finished celebrating.
By the way, the Patriots losing that Super Bowl and the perfect season has to be the biggest pratfall ever in the history of organized sports. I'm talking about at least since Ben Hur.Fin D, dolphindebby and Rocky Raccoon like this. -

If we were to include all sports, no question these dudes have to be considered......
Curt Schilling, Floyd Landis, Bill Lambieer, and co-Kings of the Sports Douche Kingdom - Roger Clemens and Alex Rodriguez. -
wow..i'm surprised people like brian bosley(sp) and the o=lineman from denver who's name escapes me right now but he's been on espn i think as an analyst haven't made the list.and micheal vick and the guy that drove the snowplow in the snowplow game..and dave wanstache for crushing our dreams with false sense of hope.
-
If it encompassed all Sports, I also would've had Rasheed Wallace on there. I really don't think Floyd Landis was that big of a Douche for what he did. Plus, it's cycling, so who gives a ****. -
So the writer compares Shula being against the Patriots going 19 and 0 to Hank Aaron not being against Barry Bonds breaking his home run record. Ummm... one was an eventuality, while the other was certainly questionable every time their team stepped on the field.
All I have to say is, THANK YOU NEW YORK GIANTS!! AGAIN...Agua, dolphindebby, padre31 and 1 other person like this. -
