Parents certainly seem pretty understanding. Still, could be worse, she could be pumping out more kids than he has years ala Suleman.

Same. I think it's absolutely disgusting on the part of both the kids AND their parents.

Glad to hear that you are. I'm sure the people involved aren't being judged enough about this unfortunate situation.

Quite possibly they could use the money? These kids seem to come from less than ideal situations, they're young and did something stupid. The parents don't seem to have it all together either.

It's a ****ty thing to happen no doubt but since it HAS happened there's no point in passing judgement on these people. Just have to move forward and make the best of an awful situation.

If they don't want to be judged they should raise their children correctly, and not put this out there FOR the media.

The best would be giving the child to a loving foster family where it has an actual chance to live a normal life and be raised correctly. Just my opinion.

    How is it disgusting?

The kids made a mistake, but what can you do? You carry on and do the best you can. You can't dwell on the negative.

The parents (grandparents) are handling it as well as you could expect.

Kids that young shouldn't be having sex first off

It's sick because their parents obviously neglected to take several steps in making them aware of consequences. It's also sick because I doubt now that the child can have a normal life, and those kids are too young to raise a child.

Contrary to popular belief how you raise a kid isn't everything. People still have free will and people do still make mistakes.

Perhaps you should consider the environmental impact that your above statements will make on the parties involved and how their lives turn out? If the entire world looks at this as a shameful atrocity (which it's not, it's just kids being stupid and paying a HUGE price) what chance do the dad, mom, and kid have?

How you raise a kid has a HUGE impact. It isn't everything but it is a lot.

The kids should have to pay a huge price, their child shouldnt. Simple as that.

the male kid should have used his free will to wrap before he clapped and the female kid should have exercised her right to ***** slap his sorry *** and tell him no.

they dont have much of a chance to begin with. the dad hasn't even hit high school yet. children raising children isn't exactly the path i'd like to see society take. and how you raise your children definitely has an impact on how they grow up. sure, there's the same risk that they will turn out ok, but wouldn't it be better for the child to be raised in an environment where the child is wanted and properly taken care of?

Seriously though, I'm 18 years old, have a pretty good job, am fairly responsible and I couldn't raise a child properly even with the help of my family. So I doubt these kids can either.

    I was being serious.

They both got themselves into this mess by choosing to have sex. I don't know if they used protection or not. I can only hope so.

I think that age is too young to be having sex. I know this because I was having sex at that age (if not 13, 15) and I think it has screwed with my head big time. I didn't get anyone pregnant but still.

They shouldn't, but what family is perfect?

I can't claim to know about these families, nor what led up to the decision to raise the child. So I can't judge either way.

I just know that the decision to give up a child is not an easy one. Proper maternal instincts are the polar opposite.

The first post would appear to contradict the second.

You can't condescend them when you admit you did the very same thing. The only difference is nobody got pregnant.

I'm not advocating or defending pre-teen intercourse. Just reminding everybody that they're kids, and they don't always use their brains. You can have the best upbringing and still end up in this situation (although far less likely).

I can condescend them because I don't feel like I had a choice in the matter.

It was not what you are thinking.

Understood. It did kinda read that (other) way. I will tread lightly here.

Consent and non-consent would naturally have differing degrees of (mental) repercussions.

there are lots of 15 year old mothers for good or bad. Lots of children get raised bt Grandparents. I think the ire is a little over the top given the age of the two that made the mistake. It is only in the newly modern world that woman didn't marry young and begin having children almost right out of puberty.
