In this day and age of free agency, the ONLY thing that prevents a player from staying on a team is personal greed.
I have no issue with the concept of a team being fair to one of its star players, but if his demand for such a salary jeopardizes the ability to maintain the cohesion of the team that made him a star...then that's greed.
Landry, Stills and Parker are going to have a GREAT season this year...because all 3 are GREAT receivers and defenses are going to struggle to effectively cover all 3 of them but if Landry demands such a salary that Miami just CAN'T provide due to the salary cap, he'll be traded and we'll sadly see him in a Jets uniform or worse...a Patriots uniform next season.
I pray this doesn't happen.
