I don't know about the whole league, but I know the Colts have like 35 million in dead space.

You can check on Spotrac.com. I'm not sure how accurate they are, though.

This really makes me question the Y. Bell move, what was the urgency to dump even if we had to carry that much cash???

I sure hope whomever labeled us as having the most in the league knows where we stand relative to the rest of the league. Surely that would be a logical expectation.

That would make sense. The Colts just had a new GM take over. You expect a lot of turnover in that situation.

Dead cap is an indictment on previous decision making. It's not surprising for a team like the Colts to have a lot of dead cap because they don't particularly mind the inevitable criticism of previous personnel decisions that comes with that. Ryan Grigson can just say I wasn't here yet and I can't speak to what the Polians did before I got here.

Teams like the Patriots and Dolphins that have continuity in their personnel departments, that's usually not a great sign.

Ireland didn't force Marshall to become a distraction & hinderance to the team. That $5.6M is on Marshall; however, that $5.6M dead space this year helps us have the appealing $40.0M in space next year.
The $1.8M hit from Bell allows us to have more space next year.
Ireland didn't force Vontae to give less than 100% to the team. If he worked as hard as he was being paid to work he'd still be here and there'd be no $1.1M cap hit. Vontae put himself into the position to get traded.

If you want to blame Ireland for each time you stub your toe or run over a nail then that's your prerogative. I'm a little more realistic than that.

Uncalled for, just because his view is different then yours is no need to get snippy. IMHO he has had some failures for sure and he has had some HR too. The water is very muddy on his 1st few years here and I am just going to base my opinion on him on the past two drafts and forward. Plus you have to factor in a whole new O and D and the fact some players just do not fit very well with the change, so there has to be some consideration to that. It is MY belief he will do just fine if given a chance and in a few years there will be threads about how lucky we he was retained and not let go like the fans wanted. JMHO
