I'm in a keeper league but I figured I'd keep my skills up and see what I could do in a 12 team league. I had the 2nd pick and I drafted for PPR with standard scoring. All TDs 6, 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, etc. QB: Cutler, Edwards RB: MJD, Ronnie, Moreno, Norwood, Bush WR: White, Housh, Coles, Royal, Cammarillo TE: Winslow, Sheffler D: Wash K: Carpenter (made me take a K) What'd ya think? I think it's a pretty solid team.
In a 12 team league, that's potentially a title contender. Why the TEs, though? It sounds like they're not required. Winslow and Scheffler probably won't be good enough to play as 3rd WRs. Also, the Redskins always disappoint as a fantasy defense; they're much better in real life. But those are minor points.
My bad, 1 TE is required. I figured Wash may finally put up some numbers since Big Al went there. I waited a long time for a D.
OK, that makes more sense now that I know a TE is required. Honestly, I'd skip the Redskins in anything short of a 16-team draft. Haynesworth doesn't really help their two big deficiencies as a fantasy defense: sacks and INTs. Again, fine defense IRL, but not in fantasy.
RB's are atrocious IMO. Jags offensive line is going to be horrendous. I don't think MJD is going to have a great year. Ronnie Brown is splitting carries with Ricky so its hard to say if Ronnie will get goaline carries. Denver has what 8 runningbacks? Moreno will see touches but he wont see goaline carries. Norwood and Bush are great Flex options if you have it. Decent team overall.
lol Atrocious? MJD will at least be good. Ronnie is certainly a #2 RB. Bush catches a ton of passes. And Moreno could be another Forte. I'm in a PPR league, I don't see how anyone could think that group is bad. Might not be amazing, but certainly good.
Um....what? They signed Tra Thomas and drafted Eugene Monroe and Eben Britton. MJD totaled almost 1400 yards and 14 TD last year and now doesn't have Fred Taylor mooching carries.
That's why Thomas will probably play at LT, and Monroe at RT for the next year or two. I don't see any reason Monroe can't come in and play a mean RT right out of the gate. I think MJD is an easy choice as a first round pick this year. But, agree to disagree, I guess.
Not for sure at all. Royal was a rookie last year. Don't you think he'll be even better in his 2nd year. He's not a guy who catches bombs down the side-line and needs a QB with a monster arm. He catches short passes and has monster YAC ability. There's no reason to think he can't do that with Orton or any other QB.
He doesn't have as good of a QB. However, he should be someone that gets a lot of short looks. I expect him to have about the same number of catches this season.
