Hey guys.. just found you over here. I had 2 questions kinda pertaining to next year. How do you think RB and RW will perform next year coming back from their injuries?... especially RB. I haven't heard anything on how his surgery went. He is my fav player on the Phins these days. Secondly I saw Boomer raving about John Beck. Would you think it would be safe to buy a jersey of his? I just hate buying jerseys and have the player turn out to be a bust.

I think that Boom is spot on about Beck. The kid's got poise, the kid's got pocket awareness, the kid's got incredible touch. So do us all a favor and buy yourself a Brady jersey ;)
Concerning the injuries: Brown's surgery seems to have gone just dandy and the recovery rate is quite high, although it will probably take him about twelve months to get into a perfect condition again. So don't count on him for the early weeks of next year's season; that's where we'll definitely need Chatman, Ricky or any other strong backup.
Ricky, on the other hand, should be fine for the offseason. The big question will be whether the Dolphins are going to keep him. He wasn't around long enough to garner trade interest, so I'd assume there's about a 50/50 chance that the Dolphins will simply release him in the offseason, depending on how fast Brown is recovering. -
Ronnie will be fine. A clean ACL tear plus a nine month recovery period puts him at 100% just before training camp.
Yes, buy a John Beck jersey. And get a Ginn jersey, too, because the guy is growing into the next 2005 Steve Smith before our eyes. -
That might be tad bit optimistic. Not to say that I wouldn't be thrilled if that was the case, but history shows that it takes more like 12 months to be 100 percent. In addition, you don't want him getting injured again in camp (which is the time of the year where these kinds of injuries are especially problematic), so you might just want to play it safe and give him one or two more months to get into game shape.
As for Ginn, I suspect that you're a tad bit optimistic too. I really like what I have seen from the kid so far and he's improving by the day, but I assume that he needs another offseason to really shine. That's not bad by any means; we basically knew that this was the case when we drafted him. Raw but tons and tons of potential. Wish I could say the same about Hagan ... -

This is a case of you reading into detail where none exists. Ginn clearly needs at least the next offseason: the point is that his potential is becoming more and more visible each week. -
Go ahead and get #22 McFadden Dolphins jersey, should be good to wear for about 10 years

Has there been a thread on the return of Ricky Williams? He is the most "interesting" player we have on this team. I think deep deep down inside all of us is the hope that he returns and plays well. I think we are going to be looking at a new team next year. New faces, new names new everything.

I did like Chatman, but it's become clear he can't catch, block or stay healthy. He is a HUGE dropoff from Ronnie Brown especially when it comes to versatility. I say you have 2 choices here:
1. Waste a high draft pick on an RB who can share the load with Ronnie Brown and eventually take over. The problem with this is there are so many other needs it sucks to waste a pick on something you potentially already have.
2. Roll the dice with Ricky Williams yet again hoping he will stay clean long enough to share the load with Ronnie Brown until he's 100% and then it really won't matter what he does. Ricky would be 32 years old by the start of the 09 season which would make him very long in the tooth for an NFL RB, he would have no trade value which is pretty much what he has now. I have no proof but I would have to believe that Ricky Williams with a full off season and training camp is a much better player than Jesse Chatman. Shoot me but this is the option I would choose. I can't see spending a high draft pick on an RB with the potential to have Ronnie and Ricky when we need 5 or 6 new starters on defense. -
Draft defense, defense and more defense. -

2008's draft should be about the d in the first 3 rounds, unless a stud left tackle appears magically in the top 5.
and anyone who thinks that we are ok on ol is kidding themselves like jets fans who believe that they could win another superbowl. ever. -
Its just hard for me to prioritise because right now we need so much. I mean if you are going to invest high picks in a QB, the second overall in Ronnie, and the 9th in Ginn you need to have a line that gives those guys time to maximize their talents.
But we aren't going to win anything until our D improves and it has even more holes and less young talent then the offense. It may be a pipe dream but I am thinking more and more the best thing we can do is trade down, even if we don't get by the books value for the pick. We just have so many needs. -
The more picks we have, the better our odds are at finding some talent... -

The gist of it was that we needed lots of good players more then we needed one great player, I kinda doubt he will change that approach given how this year has turned out. -
J. Jones is an UFA at the end of the year. His running style would be a fit with this offense line.
Bonus; his addition would allow Ronnie to come back at a measured pace.
I'm not advocating dumping Ronnie just bring a quality back to keep the ground game going.
Bonus Part II; J. Jones was never the stud back in Dallas he could re-establish himself as a No.1 back behind this OL. -
Good On Draft Day... GODD??? -

Yes, Ricky is a quality back. A hellified back in fact.
Can you guarantee Ricky won't inhale?
