I predict no better than a 500 season & a major shake-up @ the end of the year: 1) head coach Soprano will be fired. possible replacements: Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden should be available, there are others 2) Pennington officially moves into coaching cadre in 2011 @ QB coach & could be a long shot for Hennings' job @ offensive coordinator, Jason Garret may be available after a very disappointing cowboys season, there will be others that can get the job done 3) we go to the draft for another QB with our first pick, then proceed to find a quality RB, Center & TE wherever, however, in whatever order the only light @ the end of the tunnel might be if they bench Henne & start Pennington next game. but I don't see Sparano doing this... he will parish with his QB
1) Jason Garret is part of their problem in dallas. 2) Not sure why Henne would be benched, he had a good game yesterday. 257 yards, no ints against that defense. And he only took what 2 sacks?
As of now, I think Sparano has a 50/50 chance of keeping his job after this season. I don't think any of your other predictions are likely.
Very rarely if ever do you see a coordinator make a lateral move be a coordinator of another team, it is always to head coach....Garrett maybe the next Dallas head coach after tonight...
Clearly this is a joke right? Usually you post stuff that at least has some merrit. I guess there is one thing here that makes some sense though, thats Pennington moving to a coaching role. It wont be to offensive co-ordinator though. We're going to draft a QB with our first pick? Really? So we can give him all of 18 or 19 games to develop as well? Sounds like a great strategy. I don't get the negativity. yeah we lost, yeah we got screwed, yeah it sucks. But this team went toe to toe with the best team in the league, in a game it probably had no business being in, and we almost won this game. What our offense did against the leagues best defence were a group of things that no offense has done against them all year so far. Sparano will be here next year whether you like it or not. In my head I question his ability as a headcoach a bit too, but there's no way he gets fired unless this team collapses and wins less than 5 or 6 games. Henning on the other hand might be a different story.
so much gloom and doom for a Monday morning. We need to get out more and enjoy our lives. On another point, I've never seen so many threads worthy of the rant forum. IMO
have fun with the post but remember it @ the end of the season. it is what it is, no more, no less we will not contend & will be lucky to break even this year
This is a prime example of the fallout from over inflated expectations. Two months ago you were talking Super Bowl and now you are ready to burn it down. This team has a nucleus of young players who are learning and getting better all the time. Relax, take your meds and see how it plays out.
Yea. With the way we were step for step with the best team in the league, and should of beat them if not for the refs (With our QB who you want to replace keeping us in the game against the best defense in the league BTW), there's no chance we can beat the Bengals, Raiders, Bears, Browns, Bills, and Lions. No shot to beat the Ravens, Titans, Jets, or Patriots, all who are inferior teams to Pittsburgh. No shot at all. Seriously, such a bad thread this is. I'd expect this from Finheaven, not here. You should be ashamed.
about this & that: 1) Sparano is a failed parcelian experiment in coaching, he is an incompetent. 2) Henne was a wasted pick & unfortunate venture into wishful thinking. for all that has been done to prop him up he remains mediocre @ best. unfortunately, he is not the future of the franchise. 3) when they gutted the interior line, replacing starters with back-ups, for whatever reason, it was the beginning of the end. the offensive line was an elite unit & the back-ups should have played in reserve behind them until injury or talent dictated otherwise. Sparano should have known better. 4) was another big mistake ordaining Henne the starting QB after weak training camps & a disappointing pre-season. competition is the elixir of success. 5) defense is playing extraordinarily well, but that is not enough to compensate for a flawed offense & failed special teams. doubt sincerely that make the play-offs. my prediction: 500 or less & a new coach & QB in 2011
the exit of Bill Parcells in a year we should be contending speaks volumes. Miami was to be the Centerpiece in his NFL Crown of Glory. this was his ticket out in the blaze of SuperBowl splendor. he would not have stepped down, had he thought the team was a contender. one of his last words: 'Henne is a disappointment'. think about it.
Thats it!! I've written a letter to Stephen Ross this morning. I'm sending it via courier to Miami today. That letter request you become the VP of Football Operations, General Manager and Head Coach of the team. Clearly you think your opinions, no matter how misguided, are 110% correct. - How can you possibly consider Henne a wasted pick? Especially when its clearly obvious to everyone he's consistently improving his play? Experience leads to development. You can't develope a player if you dont let him on the field. Hence the reason for "ordaining" him our starting QB. - How can you possibly consider a head coach who took a 1 and 15 mess to an 11-5 division winning team incompetent? - How can you overlook that this team has a core of young players, filled with potential and this team is getting better as this season goes on. I'm not sure why I even bother.
it is what it is: our defense is carrying the team & we are further away from contending then in year one. don't like my opinion, don't post the thread. would rather take your hostility out on a fellow poster than the team? be my guest. just remember when 2010 has come & gone what I told you early on. 500 or less on the season & the team is restructured in 2011 w/o Sparano or Henne. got no more to say on the subject. you've got my complete & honest opinion , however, its only an opinion
I'm not attacking you, I'm just confused as to how you came to the conclusions that you did. Can you please explain them? Also, not to be a pain here but aren't the two bold sentences contradicting themselves?
you get the gist of it. this is my last post of the thread. have fun ladies: I predict no better than a 500 season & a major shake-up @ the end of the year: 1) head coach Soprano will be fired. possible replacements: Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden should be available, there are others 2) Pennington officially moves into coaching cadre in 2011 @ QB coach & could be a long shot for Hennings' job @ offensive coordinator, Jason Garret may be available after a very disappointing cowboys season, there will be others that can get the job done 3) we go to the draft for another QB with our first pick, then proceed to find a quality RB, Center & TE wherever, however, in whatever order the only light @ the end of the tunnel might be if they bench Henne & start Pennington next game. but I don't see Sparano doing this... he will parish with his QB
That's the thing 23rd. Your cred is shot. You promised us blood in the water and they will contend for the SB in 2010. Too late to backpedal bro. I understand that the Orca thing got you all upset and God only knows why you want to see Pennington out there. Relax and ride it out. We still have a lot of season left. I would hate to see you make another rash decision
Well I didn't think we were winning the super bowl this year and I honestly don't know anyone who thought we would. The important thing is we have proved to the league we can play with anybody. As we improve those close losses will become victories. Any change to this regime would make me question ross's sanity
