Well I hope they still like Shockey as if you look at his numbers, even with the missed games he is still basically the same player, about 40 plus catches, 500 yds or so, 3-6 Td's.

Check this out Deej, "we" received the 2009 #44 Pat White and the 2010 #165 Reshad Jones

Giants received the #151 Rhett Bomar and the #45 Clint Sintim

None of those players have exactly set the league on fire, and yet "don't trade draft choices!!!"

Why? Most of those players are not going to do much anyway, Bomar and White have been waived (Bomar was on the practice squad) Sintim tore up his knee and even when healthy did next to nothing.

That is like Trading Jason Taylor and Jeremy Shockey for Reshad Jones..

That #2 we traded to Denver last yr?

It wound up being Sergio Kindle who has not played a down in the NFL and may never play a down.

I always liked watching Shockey pump up the offense the guy likes to win.

Which is why trading draft picks for veterans who can contribute at a high level is virtually always a good deal.

Think the Bears regret giving up 2 #1's for Cutler? Pats giving up a #2 for Dillon?

    The only thing is:

-cannot do it to often, we are on the brink of that for Marshall and with White and Merling disappointing, you can peddle picks but trading them and then missing on other picks of the same level is the kiss o' death for a franchise.

That is how Wanny drove us into the ground.

-Have to land quality, Taylor (when he retires he becomes JT again) was a 33yr old dlinemen on a 1-15 team..

-Notice how the guys selected with those picks rarely become great players>?

I’m glad that trade didn’t go through. At the same time, I felt that the CamMul regime should have moved Jason Taylor for his value at the time coming off his 2006 DPOY campaign. He was worth at least a first round pick then.

Eh, then again those two with an additional #1 pick?

Well not like they could have done worse than Pat White..

Who knows, maybe they toss darts at the draft board and we get lucky? Back in 08 the thing that helped move Taylor was the DTWS stuff, Snyder was a sucker for "stars" and he fit the bill.
