Our coaching staff is very bad at adjustments, and utulized Beanie very poorly. I was shocked at how well our players played personally I thought there was a bigger talent gap between us and Texas this year and I was wrong.
By the way, Ive seen Pryor play in several games this season. He's a below average passer at this point in his college career. Just to clear things up...
Yea, he rainbows like ever pass (or short hops them like yesterday). i know he has a strong arm, someone needs to teach him how to use it though.
No it is not. You can't live in fear of not finding another coach. When you realize that your coach cannot take you where you want to go, then he's gotta be replaced. 3 years now, he has shown the same flaws in big games. Im forever grateful for the 2002 season. But he showed the same flaws in that game, yet snuck away with the win. For the level of talent that he is given to work with, OSU should be better than they are. Twice in three years, Tressel has taken a team full of stud senoirs and failed to live up to the potential they have. Its disappointing. But you can't ingnore the fact that JT is the common factor in each loss. Quick start, sloppy finish. If it doesn't work in bed, it doesn't work on the football field. You gotta be flexible and finish strong!!!
made the championship game twice, and the fiesta bowl again. your not gonna get much better than that
Tressel should and will remain the HC but he needs to relinquish the playcalling and hire an Offensive coordiantor. We played well on defense but as a whole he needs to find better ways to create pressure when we dont have the studs getting the pressure for him, we are not gonna have a Will Smith or V. Gholston that he can just throw on the DL and create pressure, sometimes you have to get creative wich he has never really done. By the way anyone else thrilled that Marcus Freeman will never play another game in a Buckeye uniform?
Reminds of a young Vince Young....you guys remember how bad he threw the ball at the beginning of his career? And Pryor is a true freshman so Im not worried about him being a liability with his arm for much longer.
He's only a freshmen but hopefully he will get better. I hope that Tressel doesn't just let him run around like they did with Vick in Virginia Tech. That would be awful IMO despite the threat that Pryor is.
i guess i could consider myself a pretty big pryor fan. he's a raw passer, but he has the tools to get it together. i hope he stays at OSU enough to hone his passing skills.
fixed no offense to Tressel, but I could have made it to those games with the talent OSU has. That might seem like an overstatement, but Im not joking. It's easy to be impressed with BCS appearances. But how many games have the Buckeyes won against non conference ranked teams since Tressel has been there? Im thinking less than 5. Most of the games OSU wins, its because they can just line up and run whatever plays they want. Tressel is never forced to adjust his play calling, or make adjustments to win games. They are winning solely on talent. But when they face equal or greater talent, we all know what happens. You can all disagree with me, but last night was the last bit of writing on the wall for me. The wall has shown me the face of the Buckeyes weakness, and it is Tressel.
Tressel is a fine recruiter but that staff needs to go. Tressel is pretty old fashioned when it comes game planning and its finally showing. I really hope Ohio St gets Tajh Boyd because he is waaaay farther along as a passer than Pryor.
