Well, it's that time.
Now the Wednesday before the NFL Draft.
For those that don't remember or weren't around, I held a contest last year to see who could name the most future Dolphins out of 20 names.
The idea is you name 20 draft prospects that you think will become Dolphins and the person with the most correct wins.
The thing to note is, you don't just get credit for naming draft picks.
If one of your guys signs on as a UDFA, you also get credit.
Last year, the overall winner of the contest was RoninFin4, who I believe mostly haunts another message board, and who edged me by one player.
This year should be more difficult, as there are fewer Rolly Lumbalas and Kory Robertsons.
But, the keen follower should be able to nail some of those this year as well.
One of the very interesting things to come out of last year's contest is that Chad Henne, Kendall Langford and even Shawn Murphy...were all VERY frequently named by the people participating in the Top 20 contest.
We knew about Jake Long before the draft, and so entries that included him were not counted.
I think only one person named Phil Merling (surprisingly) and I believe one person named Lionel Dotson.
Nobody named Jalen Parmele or Lex Hilliard in their 20.
I don't believe anyone named Donald Thomas, but I did feel stupid for not doing so myself because I liked him a lot and I knew about the connections between Connecticut and Sparano.
Anyway, have fun.
Remember, I will be tracking your entries right up to the start of the draft.
So, don't bother trying to edit them after we've picked.
:)
I'm not too confident in the defense of my crown, but here's my 20:

***Edit - Dropping Malcolm Jenkins and Jarron Gilbert; adding Cornelius Ingram & Dudley Guice***

I only hit on 5 for a first round mock.
But got really lucky on Fins TOP 20 so far...
I am just so happy about our draft right now.
We really added key players for key elements for our gameplans.
We improved our Wildcat & might even have a QB or WR with a future.
I think QB not WR...he & henne both will wait for playing time as QB.
But Pennington no longer is needed in most of the wildcat plays now.
That is great, b/c it would suck to lose him to a hit from a bump and run.
Although he does a great job of getting out of bounds or just not getting hit.
V. Davis is the best cover corner in this draft.
He might have some ego issues, but they will have him check it at the door.
What his brother does had better not rub off on here.
S. Smith is going to really help us vs. the spread this season.
If he and Davis play well, Will Allen might be doing more than testing the free agent waters.
It would suck and hope to keep them all... but he will want a large contract.
The Miami Dolphins have signed undrafted free-agent DE/LB Orion Martin (Virginia Tech). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Bud Foster loves this kid, great motor and football is a big part of his life.
The Hokie defense puts out some really good talent in some years.
I hope he works out for us and makes the team.
