As of now... Miami would look for a future RB, if Ronnie does not sign an extension this season. Then they would reload the DL with another heavy draft. Then they would add in some more skills picks. ...LOL...it's way to early man. First we gotta see how this crowd does for us. Then who is leaving thru free agency. This time last year... James L - LB Rey - LB V. Davis - CB M. Jenkins - CB All were projected to go much higher than they did this year. Most players that you would list now, might not even be on the map by week 7 in college football. But it would still be fun...lol. So please list away...
Here ya go: http://walterfootball.com/draft2010.php http://www.nfldraftsite.com/2010mock.htm http://www.nfldraftdog.com/Mock-Drafts/2010-nfl-mock-draft.html
I will be surprised to see George Selvie go number one but not more surprised than seeing Sergio Kindle go in the top five. Coming into this draft, before the prospects decided who would go and who would stay, I had Jermaine Gresham as my number one tight end. I think he's a better blocker than given credit for and he's a threat over the middle. However, I hope to see him improve his concentration this season with Oklahoma because he tends to drop passes he shouldn't. In the Walterfootball mock, I think that's a good place for Selvie, though I think we could see him go earlier than that because of his first step off the edge. If he lands to twenty-five and we take him, he'd be a very good weak side rusher. I'd be surprised if his POA % was any higher than Joey Porter's when playing the run though. I really like Dez Bryant and it will be interesting where his stock goes. I've seen him complain about not getting the ball a lot so I'm sure the prima donna comments will be out there eventually but he plays with a chip on his shoulder and is a good pass catcher. We'll be going OLB next year for sure IMO and Jerry Hughes really impresses me. Very fast off the edge thanks to his high school days as a running back and kick returner and he uses his hands well. I thought that we had a decent shot at him this draft if he would have came out because he's only had one big year; the other two he had two sacks total I believe. Two other names at OLB are Greg Hardy and Brandon Lang of Troy. Hardy is a freak of nature and was actually labeled that coming out of Briarcrest High School, the same school that saw Michael Oher and Peria Jerry attend, two first round draft choices in this draft. He's very quick off the edge and absolutely dominated a duo of Ciron Black and Herman Johnson last season. I like his inside spin quite a bit. He's got character issues though. He's not always motivated, has been rumored to use marijuana and he's all about the money. One other thing that stood out to me was his desire to pursue a career in web design or something along those lines. He had business cards made and other stuff for it, and talked about he loved it. Interesting stuff to say the least. Brandon Lang of Troy I said was underrated in the Club Level and I stand by that. He's raw but he's a good pass rusher, passes the eye test and is fluid when dropping. I like him quite a bit. Last name that will stand out to some is Corey Wootton of Northwestern. I believe he tore up his knee in the bowl game against Missouri when planting and turning, which probably kept him from coming out. I think, I could be wrong here, but I think he was very likely to come out until he tore up his knee or injured it - one of the two. He's a specimen though and has abnormally long arms. He can get after the QB well and can bat passes down. I'm a fan of him.
I agree it will be tough to match last year but I'm thinking more in the fifteen range than the five-ten range.
Pretty strong year for DT next year at the top, maybe thats why we held out in 2009.. McCoy - OU Atkins - UGA Cody - Bama Suh - Nebraska -GV
Problem is, I don't think any of those guys will be there when we pick. But I would love to somehow get Suh, Cody or Spikes.
Brandon Spikes or Terrence Cody should be our top targets. As much as I want Spikes from Florida (I know he will be good) we need Cody more. Very few elite 3-4 NTs in the league and he will be on the short list.
En-Dahmer-Ken Sue. Elite prospect. Absolutely love this kid. Has top 5 potential and it was me raving about him. There are some truly brilliant defenders in the 2010 draft; Mark Herzlich, Eric Berry, Morgan Burnett, Eric Berry, Jerry Hughes, Gerard McCoy, etc.
I think we'll be picking in the 16-21 range next year which could put us in position to grab MLB, Rolando McClain, the beast from Bama.... or Mark Herzlich and Sean Witherspoon. I doubt Cody or Suh will be anywhere near our selection, so I'm looking towards NTs Jarvis Jenkins from Clemson and Boo Robinson from Wake. I'd like to see CJ Spiller complement Ronnie and give Pat White more versatility in the Wildcat, like how Percy was used with Tebow at UF. White in the middle with Ronnie and CJ next to him! HOLY CRAP! Talk about putting a DC into "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"!! LOL. How about a power RB like 6'2, 240lb LeGarrette Blount from Oregon wearing down defenses?
McClain needs a lot of work. Boy does he look slow changing directions. Herzlich is the best player in the draft bar none.
Brandon Spikes is our man. I hope. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J734kA0DISg"]YouTube - Brandon Spikes #51[/ame]
He definitely does need some work, but he's only 19. LOL. He still seems like a beast in the making IMO. I'll get to see Herz play a decent bit in the ACC this year, so I'm happy about that.
Knowing our trend of using 2nd rounders on QBs, we will select Tim Tebow, QB/RB/WR/TE/LB/CB/S, Wildcat specialist & defender. Not only can he execute the Wildcat offense, he can also stop it in its track.
DT Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska DT Terrence Cody, Alabama DT Gerald McCoy, Oklahoma* DT Demarcus Granger, Oklahoma DT Vince Oghobaase, Duke DE Carlos Dunlap, Florida* DE Jerry Hughes, TCU DE Greg Hardy, Ole Miss DE George Selvie, South Florida DE Antonio Coleman, Auburn DE C.J. Wilson, East Carolina DE Eric Norwood, South Carolina DE Brandon Lang, Troy LB Mark Herzlich, Boston College LB Brandon Spikes, Florida LB Sergio Kindle, Texas I once projected Greg Hardy to the Dolphins in the 2009 NFL Draft. That may have just been bumped a year.
