also, Brian Bulaga is expected to go to the draft IIRC. Gabe Carimi has heavily considered it but the Wisconsin coaches are planning on doing everything they can to keep him away from the Draft.

Great keep this list as well and as they formally announce we will check them off or add them to above list. rennie curran will probably declare. he's got a daughter to feed. too small for me but might be ok for a 4-3 team

Good list Alen! Curious as to your thoughts on Thaddeus Gibson. He seems like he'd make a decent OLB in a 3-4, but to me is a little inconsistent from week to week, though not as bad as Vernon Gholston.

The one thing they let you get away with in college more so in the pro's is holding. Not to say why is inconsistent but he collapses the pocket and gets pressure.

He and Heyward should stay in school for 1 more year.

No worries man. Any word on if Rolando McClain will come out - or do you think that depends on what 'Bama does in the SEC Championship Game and whether or not they're playing for the title?

I'd love to see him on the inside next to Channing Crowder next year. Had a pretty nice burst when they lined up on the edge today a la Spikes at Florida from time to time.

I haven't heard/read anything yet but I imagine he would leave if they play in the championship game. I know him and Don'ta Hightower are very close so his decision could be influenced. We'll see.

I got to see a little of Bulaga, and I have to say the guy looks like a solid combo of pass pro and run blocking. Looks like a tough dude, too. Tried to see a little of your AJ Edds but didn't. Bulaga looks like not only a solid pick, but a safe pick for a team in need of an OT. I saw him in a mock going #2 overall and that kind of surprised me, but the guy is talented.

Another guy who I'm intrigued by but haven't seen play- DT Phil Taylor of Baylor. And I'll admit that the immediate cause of intrigue is his size. Any thoughts on him? Any word on if he'll declare? p.s. I was surprised to read that J Ferguson weighed around 350- makes sense, but I always thought that he was around 310, not the biggest NT in the world. Like most, I have Dan Williams on my radar and I also have an eye out for Boo Williams. If I recall correctly you like that DT for Texas- any other potential NTs that you have your eye on? Cheers.

I like Bulaga. He's very talented. He's strong, slides his feet well, and has played the interior of the OL.

I've got Taylor on tape but haven't seen him yet. He's heavy as hell though. He's probably heavier than his listed of 355.

As for other NT's, watch Jared Odrick of PSU, who's been brought up a few times. He's very good. I like Purdue's Mike Neal but others don't. I remember it being reported that this regime liked Sedrick Ellis when he came out and some have compared Oregon State's Stephen Paea to Ellis. Admittedly though, I haven't watched him yet as I'm behind on tape watching as I stated the other day but he's a guy you might keep an eye on.

As for the Texas DT, I think you have me confused with someone else. I haven't talked much about Texas' DT.

I am stunned by the declarations of UNC's Kendrick Burney, Deunta Williams, Marvin Austin, Bruce Carter, and Quan Sturdivant. When was this? I think they had a chance to run for an ACC title next season? By the way I am a Tarheel Alumnist so sorry to piss and moan.

No, I don't see it. I think they've got other holes to fill opposed to drafting another cornerback high. I think they like what they have with the two young guys, I think they like Nathan Jones and the job he's done. If they add one, it'll be late IMO. Also, I know you're not asking or implying it but I can't see it being Donovan Warren.

To be honest, I'm not. Carter is a first rounder working way under the radar. He's one of the most underrated players in the draft. Sturvidant is having a downish year for him and being outplayed by Carter, so that's the only mild surprise. Burney's had a great season and probably isn't going to have a greater one if he stays, especially as it's a better draft next year for corners with legitimate high round 1 quality. Now he goes into the mix with Ghee, Charles Brown, Devin Ross, Kyle Wilson, Ras-I Dowling, Patrick Robinson, Amari Spievey, Syd'Quan, the Jackson kid at Alabama, Chekwa at OSU, etc. Austin has top 40 skills and I like Deunta in a bad year for safeties.

    Not a shock to me.

He is, but he possesses good upside. There's clearly a fine player waiting to get out given the right coaching. Personally I think he should stay for his final year, but I doubt he will.

I like Walter Football's mock for us.

They have us taking Dan Williams in the first, Rejus Benn in the second and Morgan Burnett in the third. Man, that would be a homerun. Three excellent players at positions of need that could impact their units immediately. That would really be something.

If you could marry a first and second day like that, with a free agency that nets us Antonio Bryant, perhaps an Arnaz Battle or Jason Avant, and a linebacker...that would be a winning off season.

The Matt McGuire mock on Walter football has us getting:
    1. Rolando McClain
    2. Von Miller (DE/OLB, Texas A&M) - Spikes and Pierre Paul are still on the board  As is Dwyer.

Is Von Miller really worth passing up on those 3 guys or Norwood/Hardy? (I know very little about him)

I know it has us taking McClain in rd 1, but if we could get him and Spikes I'd think that would be amazing.
