Might as well start the thread to track the 2011 prospects. This is a preliminary list of players I will be tracking this season. The list includes both juniors and seniors. I’ll also start adding heights, weights and speed as the season progresses. I'll also add videos as I find them. The ones bolded are the ones that caught my eye. There will be alot of players ranked higher but thats because I gennerally only concentrate on those that might be drafted

cant say ive seen him. Kendric Burney impressed me the most of the CBs as a junior. See how he stacks up as a senior. Ras I Dowling and Brand Hogan were two others that impressed me. Chris Rucker, who CK has written a nice scouting report on, also flashed a bit for me

Tavious Polo was actually freshman All-American during his redshirt year. Problem was, for some reason or another, he's been in and out of the Starting Line-Up.

Was wondering what any draftnits think about DE/OLB Bruce Miller from Central Florida? He was a beast last year winning CUSA DPOY. What round is he expected to go?

Haven't seen a lot of him yet so no comment but I was at UCF practices - somehow missed Bruce lol - and watched Josh Robinson again. He is very good IMO.

i actually saw him last year. i was impressed for how he played as a junior but not as much if he wouldve been turning pro. he needed the extra year to get better IMO. He's not a DE at the pros. He'll be an OLB

I've been thinking that Julio Jones would be a nice imposing physical fit for our smash mouth offense...... and if AJ Green had an extra 20 lbs on him, he'd remind me of our very own Brandon Marshall.

I think Little has some talent to work with, maybe not "quite" on par with Hakeem Nicks, but not terribly far behind him. Not a fan of Floyd if solely based on that video.

If we're picking from 20th and later, then I think we could be in good position to grab a top player for one of our needs: TE Rudolph; C/G Pouncey or Wisniewski; FS McDaniel or Moore; One of the top 3 CBs (Patrick Peterson I like); or possibly Julio Jones- would love to see him opposite Marshall with those 2 beasts blocking downfield (and catching too) b/c IMHO we need to take FULL advantage of what Marshall brings to the table, meaning getting someone opposite him who can exploit the heck out of the 1 on 1s he'll be facing.

I'm back to looking at pass rushing DE/OLBs to play WOLB since I'm still worried that Wake isnt the answer. Julio Jones should be available to us in the late first round as will Greg Little IMO. I think TE and C might definitely be areas we draft next year also so I'll be looking at those positions too. Not so sure about secondary yet. Weslye Saunders looks like a good pass catching prospect. I havent scouted his blocking though so I'll focus on that a bit this season

I don't see Greg Little as a first rounder, as much as I like the guys talent.

I'll have to side with you on this one Alen..... especially considering this draft. Do the 40's sound about ok?

Maybe. Possibly drop more. There's a lot of overall talent in this class and then there's some talent at the WR position.

Well, QB Jeff Van Camp and WR Lester Jean (both from FAU) made an impression tonight.

JVC went 15/25 for 257 Yards, 3 TDs and 1 Int. Jean caught 9 balls for 163 yds and 2 TDs.

caught a bit of thge end of the utah/pittsburgh game and with pitt down by 10 and needing a score who do they go to? jonathan baldwin and the guy does a double move and finds himself open for the long TD. Then he gets the 2 pt conversion. This guy will be the the first WR drafted mark my words

Im allergic to Georgia WR's just as they are allergic to catching passes. :tongue2:

I like A.J. Green but receivers from Georgia seem to have a hard time transitioning to the pro's and a lot of it seems hands related. I need to see a lot from Green to not be scared off from the guilt by association.

LOL. Well, if he finds a cure to his pass-catching allergies, I'll be sure to tell AJ to let you know....... maybe it will help with your allergies to Bulldog receivers. :tongue2:

Personally, I've never forgiven Hines Ward for his hands so I'm right there with ya! :shifty:

Isnt that a good thing?

Let me know if Freddie Gibson really has stone hands too. Its one of the great unsolved mysteries of the world...how a receiver could be so bad at catching the ball!

Yeah I think he'll be gone. I think this team will have some interest in Ayers. Same goes for Daniel Thomas.

Am I off on thinking Akeem Ayers to Julian Peterson comparison?

well i spent the day watching louisians lafayette vs georgia and texas vs rice. just wanted to get those lesser schools out of the way while they play elevated competition. Louisiana Lafayette had only one prospect that stood out, TE Ladarius Green. He is a tall TE, seems to have decent hands and has some speed. Georgia had a nice FB in Shaun Chapas. Very good blocker, especially on the move. Can also run for the tough two, three yards and a cloud of dust. And he can catch out of the backfield. Rice had a good TE prospect also in Vance McDonald. He can get down the field and should be good in the passing game. ROV Travis Bradshaw might be an interesting late round safety prospect. He's around the ball constantly and can tackle. Didnt pay much attention to Texas but both Achos seemed to have good games and WR Malcolm Williams looked good

Malcolm Williams scares me. He drops a lot of balls.

    Agree on Chapas though.

Texas receivers in general scare me  considering his competition, having a good game isnt necessarily impressive but he did well so I thought I would mention it.

Watched 6 games so far this weekend. Akeem Ayers is the legitimate 1st round deal and high first rounder at that. Daniel Thomas was outstanding in that game; what a set of hips for a 227lb back. He's going to go high as well. Tank Cardy of TCU is going to be a hell of a player as well. Janoris James was impressive against limited opponents. Interesting to see Marcus Cannon at LT; he has terrific natural ability but needs coaching and technique work. Couple of interesting ends in the TCU and K State games. Lot of bad OL play generally, although whilst Pouncey's issues were snapping the ball, he has NO issues as a blocker. Guy is terrific. Stephen Paea was excellent as well. As usual.

Couple of nice youngsters out there as well. Oregon State QB looks to have serious NFL tools.

watched Tulsa vs East Carolina yesterday. Highly entertaining game that was a score fest in the 2nd half with the game being won on a last second thirty yard TD throw. Players that stood out

    Tulsa
FB/ H-B - Charles Clay - (Sr) wow. This guy is a weapon. Seems to be a decent blocker but out of the backfield this guy is a force in the passing game. Exhibits nice hands, good speed. He looks 220 but weighs 240 and is 6'3" so he has decent size for FB. Would be a perfect for a west coast offense that uses alot of passes to its RBs. He's a decent runner too.

WR - Damaris Johnson - (JR) - a bit too small for my liking. Is really more of an all purpose player than a pure receiver. Excellent KR, probably his best skill for the NFL. He's very fast and quick but I dont think he'll be that effective as a WR. Decent runner for college. They used him on a few end arounds where his speed got him to the outside and allowed him to make some plays. Dont think that will work in the NFL where players are faster.

OT - Tyler Holmes - (JR) - Had a good game against poor competition. I need to see him against better DEs however. Still, he's a guy to keep on your radar.

CB - Charles Davis - (Sr) - Decent athleticism but looks like a good college player who wont be able to transition to the NFL

CB - John Flanders - (Jr) - Had a very good game against some decent WRs. Surprising since the defense got torched in the game. Someone to watch over the course of the year

    East Carolina

WR - Dwayne Harris - (Sr) - This guy is good very good. Good size, good speed, good hands. Has a few technical things he needs to work on but a legitimate 3rd round prospect. The best talent on the field yesterday. excellent kick returner also

CB - Travis Simmons - (Sr) - The guy who gets the publicity in the secondary is Emanuel Davis but Simmons clearly outplayed him yesterday. Showed a great ability to shadow, has good football intelligence, good reaction time and decent burst. A bit small at 5'10" 180 so he may end up like Trae Williams, too small for the NFL, but showed enough ability that I would watch him this season. Completely off the radar as NFLDRaftScout has him ranked 65th senior CB. He only runs a 4.5 apparently but if he can run in the low 4.4s I think he may get a look as an UDFA. Need to see him again to see if that game was a fluke or if his improvement is for real

CB Emanuel Davis - (Jr) - This is the guy that gets all the hype. Faster and bigger than Simmons, he played decently but can be burned. Seems overly aggressive and is easily fooled. At this stage would be well served playing through his senior season. Think he has alot of technique work and play recognition to work on. Good athlete though

I've been saying it since last year but Titus Young is very underappreciated. Everyone talks about Pettis but I think Young will have a better career.
