We struggled all September. Frank Wren responded in the offseason by doing absolutely nothing. Now we continue to lose games. What a surprise...

 

I was wondering that too. It was maddening over the weekend watching the same poor situational hitting that you would see last season.

 

Just burn it down. Burn the whole ****ing thing down.

 

I don't want to overreact but after watching the weekend series I can't help wondering why the hell Wren didn't go after some offense.

 

What are they going to do if he can't play in enough games this season? They might be fighting to stay out of last place.

 

You have to think the pitching is good enough, especially when Huddy comes back, to contend. You also have to believe Heyward is going to have a better year. He's taken some nice swings this year already, and that's while facing two lefty's. The Braves, counting tonight, will have already faced 4 lefty's in their first 6 games. That's rough.

 

They could use Huddy right now. They need somebody who can go pitch five good innings without throwing 100 pitches.

 

Nice offensive output. Mac was awesome, as was Uggla. Heyward is also hitting well. The starters still can't get to the 6th inning though. Not sure what's up with that. Fredi is gonna have to let these guys get extended, otherwise we'll see a repeat of last September.

 

I expect T. Hudson's return will aide somewhat, but agree that the SP have to be more efficient and aide that solid BP so they remain solid deeper into the season.

As far as your bats, the key will be the bigtime Lefty bats being consistent with Bourn, McCann, Freeman, and Heyward needing to just be the glue.

 

I've been camping all weekend, I couldn't believe the Braves are on a five game win streak. Better yet I read that they got a couple of starters past the fifth inning! It's time to pay the Mets back now.

 

Is Fredi still managing the Braves?

 

Two weeks into the season and only Texas has scored more runs than the Atlanta Braves. I don't expect this offensive juggernaut to continue all season but I wouldn't have believed I'd be typing that at any point given the first four games and much of last season.

 

Bourn, Heyward, McCann, Freeman ride them while they are hot......the lefty bats will be thine destiny!

 

Freddie Freeman has never heard of a sophomore slump.

What's up with Jurrjens?

 

Great game tonight....for the Dodgers.

 

The ESPN recap says that Jair Jurrjens was optioned to AAA after the game. With Huddy about to come back there's no reason to send him out there any more for an automatic loss.

 

I don't care what anyone says, he has to be hurt. His command has been horrible. Every time he's pitched poorly, it's been because of some nagging injury. Two years ago when he pitched like ****, it was an injury. Same last year after the All-Star break. The good thing is, like you said, Huddy is due back soon. Also, Brandon Beachy and Mike Minor have both been awesome. It's nice to have a loads of pitching.

 

His velocity and command. He started throwing a cutter last year, and it was awesome. He wasn't throwing his usual 91-93, but he was getting great movement and inducing a lot of weak contact. This year, he's fallen behind hitters, and hasn't been able to locate. When he does get ahead of hitters, he doesn't have an out pitch and is getting hurt because guys aren't offering. The scouting report on him appears to be to take until the count is favorable. Because of that ****ty command I mentioned, he's throwing a lot of pitches and eventually making mistakes.

 

I hate west coast games.

 

We were the first team to beat the Dodgers at home this season.
