I was not consulted on this.

I may be authorizing a numbers change soon. I've talked with Jason at overthecap and am really impressed with the depth and vastness of his knowledge.

Although this scenario definitely has me intrigued.

I wouldn't advocate any sort of number changes, unless you want to open Pandora's box.

Granting the new 9ers numbers for Todd right after he's been replaced. :pointlol: Completely unintentional actually, I've just been too busy to fully delve into it.

Thing is though from the start, before even I got involved as far as I've been told, if we were presented with reputable numbers and our numbers were wrong, we'd allow people to change them. Usually some sort of a yahoo article or the like. Not new restructures, but corrected numbers.

Specifically with Todd, I just needed some human response from the person who did up those numbers, and said if I got that, if I could see the process I'd allow a change, but then things completely changed and he and GIK handled it and I was out of the loop.

I honestly have no clue. My entire time has been spent looking at these new numbers, I've been mostly out of the loop on most league goings the last few days. I just figured things got heated and whatever. If not, I apologize.

Well a definite line had to be drawn, I mean when we start a game we can't just change the rules/other parts of the game as we go along it just wouldn't make any sense. Next time we can always wait much later into the offseason to start the GML. Honestly if you can't handle a hard line stance on the numbers you were dealt with then why bother playing the game.

Here's your pieces, make the most of it what you can just like everyone else. You shouldn't need to lessen some numbers just to make it "easier" for you. There's no difficulty settings here, just man up and play the game with what you got.

Not with me, with whatever was going on with you and Griddles. If there even was as such. If not, see previous post. :pointlol:

All I think I know is that You and I talked, then you and Griddles talked, and then you were no longer the 49ers GM so I just connected dots when making these posts.

Just as a quick example here, I looked up Mike Iupati contract, which is $2,629,500 on spotrac, and is $3,257,363 in the excel link provided. Is that something I should just change or should I let you guys take care of it?

Perhaps, it's not entirely my call. I'm willing to listen to any idea.

With a switch to overthecap next year, I think erroneous salaries will no longer be a problem though. I, personally, would love to start the GM League, at least this part at least a week later if not more so I have time to add in all the new base salaries and verify things, but that means people can't moan and groan about not getting the info and not getting started.

that's because spotrac clearly had faulty numbers before and now with all this new data that had been released within the last few days, they've adjusted. If you can get a cached version of that page, you'll see the old numbers they had.

As for the change, that there seems to be the rub we're talking about.

If, IF we allow these new numbers, everyone can lower AND raise their salaries. But I'm not sure if we're going to do it yet. I'll likely talk to Griddles when I get home.

I don't think there should be any changes. No team should have an inherent advantage by keeping them, so it shouldn't have an effect.

Why didn't we use this website if its accurate?

    I did.

It turns out when I did it, they weren't accurate. With this new site out, they've (spotrac) been mass adjusting their numbers.

The problem is that you're also increasing cap space of the teams you'll be bidding against.

I'm fairly certain it's not all increasing space. I'm fairly certain the Raiders will actually be losing space if we did this. Some people would get a small boost, some would lose some space. It would not be like the restructures from last year.

The numbers we have are spotrac numbers, just from a couple weeks prior to whatever they've updated the numbers to.

We've already started the league, there's been numerous trades done. Squash the talk of any number adjustments because it doesn't help anything at this point, it'll only cause further problems down the line. Once the league has started everything that was set is frozen.
