It's here, the 2013 US Open Who's your favorite to win? I have no idea who the favorite is, but I think Tiger (after his embarrassing last outing), has to be. But I'd rather it be a Irishman....lol
I would have said Tiger up until the Memorial. He was awful. McDowell always seems to be in contention at the US Opens as his game fits the difficult test that the USGA puts out there. Of course, I want Rory to win, but he has had a bad year and doesn't look to be playing nearly strong enough. I think Matt Kuchar could be a guy that threatens the top of the leaderboard. He's got to be the best golfer not to have won a major at the moment. So he's due... Adam Scott will be there as well.
Should be a great tournament. Plays about 7,000 yards but has big penalties for missing the fairway. http://www.cbssports.com/golf/blog/eye-on-golf/22380743/photo-us-open-rough-looks-extremely-deep I can't pick a winner or contenders for that matter. Every one of these guys is capable of getting hot and making a run. Every one of them is also capable of missing the cut. That's why I like it so much. PS. I don't have that shot.
rooting for Phil... it looks to be his time too... finally at the US Open. His biggest threats are Stricker and Schwartzel IMO.
Justin clearly played great. Especially last two holes with wonderful approaches. But this was setup for Phil and he ****ed up. Miss club on 13 and blowing his approach on 15 were so costly, resulting in two lost strokes. He still had a shot on 16 but miss read his putt. all this after two double bogeys on front nine. He really gave it away. Didnt expect Rose to win coming into Sunday. Always seemed to be there until the final round of a major. This time he hit the shots to win. Have a feeling this will open the flood gates for him. This wont be his only major.
Great tournament. The pressure was extreme. I wonder how many of them p1ssed their pants while it was raining?
I think Phil missed a good 6ish 10 footers for either par or birdies in this tournament. Phil played great, but his putting let him down overall, IMO.
