You know...a coworker had a pretty good point of perspective on this. Everett Golson is being pulled for bad performance. He's being pulled because he can't stop throwing picks (bad decisions always been my biggest issue with him). Isn't that kind of a good thing to get the guy out of the lineup that keeps throwing the game away? The public are STRONG on LSU in this game. Overwhelming majority on LSU if I'm not mistaken. But I could kind of see Notre Dame keeping this close because Malik Zaire isn't the type to give the game away. And meanwhile they say they'll use both QBs so what if Golson gets the message and plays a really good game? I know he works with George Whitfield a lot and he's had a month off from football. George is the guy that got Golson to improve so tremendously from the last time he was the starting QB to what he was in 2014. I dunno. It's enough that I'm laying off. I think Notre Dame keeping the status quo would've been the surest way for LSU to cover.
cashed barely And i see what you mean CK but i remember last season Michigan did the same thing, despite Gardner playing a damn good game against Ohio State, they were a two point conversion away from beating them, they went with Shane Morris in the buffalo wild wings bowl against Kansas State and Kansas State destroyed them. i dont expect Zaire to do much of anything
Need 14.5 to cover my LSU TT bet.. Need the defense to step up like i know they can for my spread bet
Luck of the Irish. Certainly doesn't help Everett Golson's case for being a better decision maker. Looks like they're just preserving the field goal here.
Hah. Yeah I figured you'd probably be pretty pissed at that one. They got robbed the TD obviously. Review looked pretty clear the ball crossed the plane. But it was such a stupid play call IMO that they deserved to not get the TD so I can't be too mad about it.
I don't mind going for it but freaking go for it. You've got a weak, white holder trying to pound the ball across the goal line within a confined space like the tight red zone? Please. The guy couldn't even put the ball on the carpet across the goal line. He did cross the plane slightly before he got the ball to the ground but there wouldn't have been any controversy if he touched the ball down on the line. Then he comes off the field and gets treated for a bloody nose because a light breeze blew at him during the run. You've got Leonard Fournette going OFF like a demon in this game, all 6'1" & 230 lbs of him. And your best best for sneaking the ball over the goal line is a weak, white 5'11" & 200 lbs backup quarterback.
Yep, its as stupid as Tomlin making his punter throw the ball on a fake punt last Sunday night.. And was intercepted in one of the girliest throws Ive seen all year - and I watched Geno Smith play a few games.. As you said if youre going to go for it, big Ben has to throw it, not the punter. Almost costed me my spread that night.
Thank you Kelly.. Going for a running play on 3rd and 9, is Sparano your OC? Not complaining though thanks!
Was listening to it on the radio on the way home from work. Can't believe this wasn't ruled a td. Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
Lucky for me ND just broke off that 50 yard run. I thought LSU was about to open it up. The spread is 7.5 and I laid off this game but almost all people in my office pool took LSU -7.5 so I'd like to see ND cover.
Notre Dame is gonna use up the clock and likely win. That dumb fake field goal is gonna cost me two bets instead of one. Lovely
